About my second time there, I sat at the counter near the kitchen. So enjoyed my last visit and was looking forward to a nice breakfast. As I was eating the sausage I noted that it was a little cold, and looked straight back into the kitchen to see why. They had something like 5 pounds each of the bacon and the sausage stacked up over the grill just gaining dust and getting cold. I couldnt believe my eyes, it was disgusting. When I told the manager on my way out, he simply defended it, and told me that all of this chain of restaurants do it. So if you ever wondered why your meal was cold, they precook it! I said I will never be back. I want only fresh ingredients freshly cooked, if I want something precooked I will get my sausage or bacon from the grocery store frozen section, why give you money for old food? I have never been back, and I hope they go out of business so that a legitimate restaurant will open up there!

My brother and I decided to check it out this morning, 2/21/15. I live in Mission Viejo so its right in my neighborhood. Until now there werent really many breakfast/lunch establishments to choose from; Pauls being the oldest and Ive never been that crazy about them. There is finally a place that doesnt involve a marathon drive to go to for a fresh chicken fried steak. Im looking forward to going back and trying some of their griddle fare and also the lunch menu. I didnt look at the lunch menu but if they serve a cheeseburger thats as good as the chicken fried steak this will be my go to place. I was very happy with both the food and service; never had to ask for coffee or water refills. The food was hot when brought to the table. Our server was Alexandra and she was great.

COLD FOOD!!!!! The manager was called and she still made me pay for cold food. She said she touched it and it was warm? I got the country fried steak (which should take 5 minutes to make). I got my order immediately (less than a minute) after it was put in? It was not cooked fresh which is what this business was founded on. They have turned the corner to fast food now. Every trip to San Diego I stop in on Sunday for breakfast but never again. I only hope the owner reads this review and does something about how the food is made from now on or he/she will be reading more and more of these reviews. Sincerely, TJ

When we arrived we were told to sit at a booth where I did not want to sit, so I asked if I could sit at one of the plenty of empty tables near the window. That clearly upset the seater who insisted we sit where she had told us to sit. I told her I was uncomfortable in a tine booth with no light, and preferred a table near the window, of which there were plenty available. She caused a scene about that, we were then escorted to a table at the back, also in the dark, and then the manager turned up, who then attacked me for asking something so impossible. We got up and left and will never return.

Went in at 9:50 am today on a Tuesday morning & the place was not very busy.We finally received our plates at 10:15, talk about slow service! Now I know why there is always a line of people out the door on weekends, thats because they are so slow! The French toast was terrible, hash browns were soggy & greasy, ordered two eggs over easy & one egg had a burnt egg yolk. Other plate of egg & chorizo rice & beans tasted like S__T, they served canned refried beans & some kind of Caribbean rice. I spent $37.00 for two overpriced breakfast. Wont see me there again!!!

The food is so good that it makes up for lousy service. We waited 20 minutes before anyone even brought water or returned after giving us our menus & we sat there with the menus closed. No one asked if everything was all right after we received our food. My entre was not very warm. We had to ask twice for coffee refills. The manager was well aware of their bad service, yet did nothing to rectify this. I would return because the food is very good & the menu has many choices. The service protocol needs improvement.

Its fine as far as breakfast places go but nothing special. I dont get the hype of this place. When i was in SD there was big lines. Been twice now and nothing wrong with food but it isnt much different than your large portion ihop or similar. Service is fine, foods fine. Maybe there just isnt much competition in decent breakfast places? Again, nothing wrong with this place. But nothing to write home about or crave.

I had the border Benedict, and it was delicious! I feel like the portions were massive. Which explains the prices. They have INCREDIBLE pomegranate juice. I absolute loved it. I had an awesome waiter, Thomas, who was very attentive and sweet. Id go back if I had more room in my stomach. They also brought the food out pretty quickly. Maybe 10 minutes after we ordered, if that. Overall, it was a great experience.

The food and atmosphere were great. My only problem is that I had a very young server who didnt write anything down while my guest and I were ordering. This always makes me nervous and my food did not come out right. The fix was to bring another plate with a free portion of what I should have gotten the first time. I hope future visits are better.

Very good place. Im glad they brought one here to south orange county. My family and I always had to travel all the way to San Diego when we craved this place. Im giving it 4 stars only because they already know by default from other restaurants they have open that... This place gets PACKED!!! So they should have gotten a much bigger building.

The food was nothing special. Not amazing, but not bad either. I was a little surprised at the prices though. Youre looking at $12 dollars or more for something like a simple lunch wrap and fries, and thats a bit more than I think it was worth. At least the portions were pretty large. The service was great though. Very friendly.

Oh I just LOVE the Broken Yolk! The breakfast and lunch are delicious and the menu runs the gamut from healthy ace bowl to my favorite Eggs Benedict. My daughter loves the Nutella Crepes and breakfast and the delicious burgers at lunch. BTW - the salads are also delicious. I go here all the time!

This is a nice diner that looks especially clean. I like and think the Club Sandwich on their $10.99 lunch special is delish and a good value. It comes with a side and drink. They also have a $6.99 breakfast special (6:30 - 9am weekdays) with several tasty options too but dont include a drink.

First time there, had heard good things, but I thought it was more of a " neighborhood " kind of place. It turned out to be a well run and efficient Dennys. Messed up my eggs. Dont sit at counter, you get to see a bunch of guys touching your food, with no gloves on. It spoils things =(
