No complaints, first time here and I loved it. Definitely loved their menu, wont spoil it for you about what it is, but youll get a good conversation about it. The orders are definitely large, we ordered four separate orders and we all had some leftovers which we had to pack, they were very generous in giving take-out boxes. The staff is great, and not a very long wait time. One thing I noticed is that they dont have condiments of other brands (except the sugar and salt packets), the ketchup, the steak sauce and more were their own brand. I want used to that because I love the A1 barbeque sauce nonetheless the meal was great. They also have free lollipops for when you leave.

This place is like the cracker barrel of california!! It has a whole assortment of comfort food and portions are big, as would be expected of comfort food. I especially liked the chicken and biscuits and the slow cooked pot roast. Both dishes were amazing!! The strong coffee was another big plus. I took one star off because there was an ant problem the last time I came here. There were ants all over the condiment holder. However, I talked to the waiter and he assured me that the ant problem was due to the recent weather change and that they were planning to take care of the problem that night. In any case, the food is super good and I would definitely come back!

This was my first experience with this chain of diners. It was a great experience and I plan to return. My wife and I both had a Chicken Fried Steak (she had the smaller portion) and it was one of the better versions of this comfort food I have enjoyed. It was certainly the best I have had in California. The tea was good and served in a Texas-sized glass (which as a Texan myself, I appreciated). The wait staff was reasonably attentive and the service was quick and accurate.

After leaving dennys for poor service and waiting 20 minutes and not even take our drink orders with only one waitress .... black bear was on point got Seated within seconds of walking through the door seconds after got our drink orders and bout 5minutes after that they took our order ! Waitress was nice ! They where very fast takin our order thank you !

First time in a Black Bear Diner. I will never go to another one. It was freezing in the back of the restaurant. Even though we complained 3 times they never offered to move us to the front of the restaurant ever it was warmer. My moms soup wad cold when she got it. And my salad was barely edible.

Friendly staff and good food, toast kind of tasted like the toaster was shorting out, tasted like electricity. Other than that the breakfast burrito with chorizo was full of flavor. Also noticed that they take good care of both the inside and outside. Will come again for sure!

I personally didnt like the food too much, the mash potato was great but maybe I ordered all the wrong things apart from that. Our server was amazing however and the place is very thoughtfully designed and built. Id recommend but for the atmosphere, not so much the food.

I was visiting from Dallas, Texas. Food was good, server was very polite. The wait was ridiculous, but I understand simply because its a very small town with out vary many options which causes the restaurant to be over congested. If youre impatient, dont stop here.

Great food and nice theme. I love how the menu is on fake newspapers with funny headlines from the 1900’s wilderness. There is the mascot stuffed animal in the bar, and there is a neat mini gift shop.

Very good food and very nice people. We even got a discount on the amount of chairs we had reserved because not everybody showed up! The Black Bear Diner is most definitely an excellent restaurant!

Black Bear Diner. Always aims to please. We split a pot roast dinner and it was more than enough food for two people. The pot roast was tender and delicious. The cornbread muffins are really good.
