Atmosphere is cool, music for the most part is 50s-60s, but randomly a extremely loud rap song will come on saying the F-word or the N-word over and over. Then the 50s music comes back on. Then a Snoop Dog gangster rap song comes on extremely loud also saying the F-word. Really ruined the 50s experience with my wife and I. My burger was extremely uncooked, cold, and the bun was still like dough. I couldnt leave this place fast enough. My wifes Greek veggie gyro wrap was good at first, but I got an allergic reaction from it and my tongue started to get a rash. A small bug was stuck to my soda cup that I cleaned off with a napkin. The soda tasted flat as well. The atmosphere is the only thing going for this place, but the night club rap music destroys any bit of nostalgia instantly. On their menu it says "Due to health and safety regulations we are required to cook all burgers at medium rare or more." This warning is an indication that the health and safety department as been there enough times to require this to be on their menu. Not good. No towels in both male and female bathrooms as well. This will be my last visit.

Eaten at R&R twice (gave them a chance to redeem themselves...FAIL). *** First time, I got ribs. They were completely dry and flavorless. Only a little drizzle of BBQ sauce on top made them practically inedible (TO GO, so couldnt ask for the bottle). Salad looked out of a bag and dressing was definitely "italian" from a bottle. *** Last time, I got tacos. First clue was they were going to use flour tortillas (asked for corn). The cold, greasy (congealed) beef was completely unseasoned - NOT EVEN SALT, no cumin or chilli powder...nothing! Chicken was the same, only dry as cardboard. There was barely any salsa on top and it looked old (kinda grey). No cheese, no cilantro (chopped, wilted lettuce, instead). Beans tasted from a can and "spanish" rice tasted from a packet. *** Its almost like theyre trying to do everything the opposite of correct. I can only imagine the "cook" is a smoker with no sense of taste...or they dont care...or theyre sociopaths. Either way, they shouldnt be in the food industry and I will never eat here again.

My wife and I are locals, believe it or not we never actually went there before so we decided to try and give it a shot. I wasn't thoroughly impressed, neither was my wife. For us it's a kind of been there done that kind of place. The food wasnt anything to brag about I think Carls Jr. has better quality. My wife ordered a margarita and it was a waste of money. I honestly think the only reason why this place stays around is because people are curious to go inside. Save your money or try out once just to say you did it like everyone else.

This double dining car-turned-restaurant is somewhat of an oddity in this coastal landscape, but it certainly captures the essence of highway driving. If youre driving along Highway 1, this is certainly a unique place to stop with quality food...its simple and inexpensive, and therefore beats out any chain burger place. Entering is confusing: right side or left? At dinner time, most people seemed to be shown into the left car. Im not sure what the difference is. I really wanted to try one of their malts, but I remembered it being like $4.

I used to work at this place, and unlike any other restaurant that I ever worked at... I actually loved the food. I never got tired of it. Juicy Pastrami Burgers... Great Guacamole Burgers... and the Southwestern Wraps are fantastic. Go for a burger, salad, Clam Chowder or one of the more basic Greek entrees, and you wont be disappointed. The dessert menu never hit the spot for me... but the huge variety of shakes and malts was never boring.

The food was excellent. I got the Meat Sampler, and I was instantly awarded by my choice. It came with two ribs, two ounces of tri trip and a chicken wing. The chicken and the tri tip were excellent, but they were overshadowed by the extraordinary ribs, that tasted like there was a party in my mouth everytime I took a bite. I highly recommend it for anyone who can appreciate good meat.

I highly recommend this place,my mother in law and I were in town and wanted to try something different,we loved it! The burgers are huge and delicious,we uploaded pictures on our facebooks. The guacamole was very good,the service was awesome. The decorations of this place was very cool.I would eat there again

Ive only ordered off of their Greek menu and never regret it. Their food is fantastic. Cant wait to go again. Edit: Got the chance to go again. If you ever come here, make sure you order off their Greek menu, BUT: My friend ordered the chili cheese fries and they were pretty damn fine.

Great food, great environment, great decor. Lots of fun to look around at everything at this place. Service was very good. Food was definitely a good value. Looks like they do some of their own BBQ-ing, but we were there for breakfast. I would happily return.

Nice theme. Really cool looking. Awful service. Asked for a water 3 times before getting it. Never got my side of ranch. The waitress was hard to understand and kept snapping at us and was very rude. Its a to bad I came here years ago and loved it.

The people here were quick with the service and the food. The food was delicious and the options were plentiful. Friendly staff and friendly customers. Prices were right and the train was cool. Nice stop on our way to Monterey Bay.

Awesome vintage diner! 50s rock playing over the speakers very nice service, and a fantastic chorizo breakfast burrito. My kids love that its in a real train car! Follow your breakfast here by a morning at the dunes.

Good menu with classic diner fare and ambiance. Solid lunch place... very casual. Perfect place to fly into from Oceano L52. Great stop on the bike as well
