Co Wine Co is my local wine store, and has been since it opened eight years ago. The owners have become friends, as have many of the fellow patrons. So, I admit an affection for the place that extends beyond being merely a "customer." That said, to me this place exemplifies the best of what a great local business can be: because I like the place so much, and the owners, and the staff, and their selection and prices and service are so good, I keep coming back and recommending it to my friends. There are plenty of local businesses which have not managed to endear me to them nearly so well. The new location is a tad less convenient to nearby restaurants, and a bit more off the beaten path for foot traffic. But, the place looks great, the space is warm, and the selection, while modest in size, is strong on quality and value. And who ever is behind the counter/bar is always happy and capable of pointing you in the right direction based on what you like. Another plus of the new space, they have beer on tap! I dont usually go to a wine store for beer, but sometimes you want a little of the suds, and now theyve got it. I highly recommend Colorado Wine Company, and if you go by on an evening or a weekend, its entirely likely youll see me there.

Located in Eagle Rock the Colorado Wine Co. is hopping on Friday nights when they offer a flight of five wines and complimentary cheese plates with crackers for $15. Buy high quality wines here for under $25 or come in and sip wine by the glass from $5 to $12. Each day there are four white and four reds to taste. Beer lovers enjoy a variety of six craftsmen style beers on tap. On Sundays from 1 to 4:30 p.m. they offer a flight of four wines for $12. Wines by the Month Club members have a choice of three programs of three wines from $50 to $80. If you are a KCRW member, be sure to tell the staff to receive a 10% discount.

My mom and I stopped by after dinner because my mother wanted a new bottle of Malbec. Bartender was super helpful and knowledgeable about the wines. He let us sample a couple of wines until we found the one we liked and then we just sat, drank, and talked. Its a nice little hole-in-a-wall with cozy couches and soft lighting. Will definitely be returning for more dates with loved ones. Dont come here for dinner. They only have a cheese plate available with your choice of 3 or 5 different types of cheeses. Its a good spot to hit up before or after dinner some place else.

Im not into wine so the five stars is for the food, service, and entertaining tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable on the wine making process and history of the winery, and had a good sense of humor which is always a plus in my book. The group I was with thought the wine was great. Im really glad I was invited as this is not a place that would have come from me to visit and turned out to be a great place to know for when I want to do something different.

I wanted to love this place but its a bit lacking. Parking isnt easy and the lay out isnt the easiest when its crowded. Im a bit perplexed how they were approved for handling food because it all seemed a bit suspect to me. It would be better if they just avoided the cheese plate and let people bring their own in.
