This used to be one of my favorite bars in the area if you asked me a year ago. Its tucked away in Highland Park and they did a great job on the interior design - its dark and gothic/hipster themed with wrought iron chandeliers, edison lightbulbs, and mason jars with tealight candles. The outdoor patio area is charming. None of that has changed. However, in the last 6 months, the service has gotten increasingly bad (3 times out of the last 4 times I went, the bartender forgot to give me my credit card back with the check, which has never happened to me at any other bar). They have a DJ on certain nights, which is great but its way too loud to converse with anyone. They have free tacos on Tuesday nights at 10pm which used to be one of the better tasting tacos in town, but they have someone new running it and the tacos are so mediocre that it makes me say no to free tacos!! On top of that, the last mixed drink I ordered (the Jalapeno margarita) was made so poorly that I left an almost full $10 drink on the table. I switched to the tequilla special which was the worst tasting tequilla I ever had. Im sad to say I wont be coming back here again.

is bar is right up my alley! Dimly lite, quaint and decorated with nifty dark sided odds and ends. During the week they have a happy hour from like 5pm to 9pm, with $5 cocktails and select beers. I ordered a beer off their list...they didnt have it, I ordered my second choice beer...they didnt have that either. By this point I was pretty bummed so I ended up settling on a Pabst :( not my choice at all but ehhh.... They girl could sense my disapointment and told me my drink was on the house... it was only $3, but it was a kind enough gesture to get me out of my funk. Great service, cold brew... thumbs up.

This is a cute little place on Figueroa Blvd in Highland Park with a long Happy Hour (5pm - 9pm) and some pretty tasty drinks Ive never had but it seriously needs to provide some snacks. Ive read they have Taco Tuesdays but I went on Friday afternoon and we ended up leaving around 7pm because we got hungry. We ended up hopping over to The York. Also, they were playing punk style music which was OK but didnt really add to our good time. Ive heard it gets packed on Saturdays but Ive yet to see for myself.

Only been here once, but good prices on drinks and decent selection. Its a little hole in the wall: small, dark, but mostly clean, with a patio for smokers to sit with their drinks away from the bar. Seemed to be mostly trendy young people inside, so Im guessing its a good place to meet people like that. They have all sorts of special events on weeknights, I was pleasantly surprised when a stand-up comedy show started as I was getting ready to go, and stayed through a few acts.

The space is great and it is located in a very walkable area. I didnt expect much from a $5 old fashioned but it was pretty bad. The bartender was impatient and just short of rude to a few customers at the bar. Outdoor lighting didnt turn on early enough so we sat talking in the dark for a while. Note that cigarette smoking is allowed on the patio and people took advantage of it.

Love this place, only gave it a 4 star for the fact that it is a little hard to navigate around the bar, and the bathrooms are tiny. The staff is great, the people are diverse, it is just a lot of fun to hang out at this quaint bar. Been going there for years, when it was The Little Cave, new name (kinda) and new look, this place only gets better.

Great cocktails and decent beer selection. Looong happy hour, good vibes and music. Sunday night live jazz is awesome. Outside area is pretty, they just need to get rid of all the junk and not use it for storage. My personal local favorite.

Great spot, dimly lit, great ambiance. Awesome bar, tentative tenders offers a great selection of beer, mix drinks and wine. Very cool place with lots of character. Outdoor patio section, with additional outdoor bar. Smoker friendly.

Chill little bar, drinks are all amazing. The mixed drinks-my fave is the mezcalada-its like a michelada with mezcal in it. Good place to go sit, chill and drink for a few hours. Can get crowded, even so doesnt feel too claustrophobic.

One of my favorite dive bars in LA. Ive been going since before the remodeling. The drinks are great and you cant beat $5 happy hour for the type of drinks they give you. The live music is awesome and the DJs are hardly ever a miss.

Tuesdays is 80s night! Awesome place just to chill with friends, not too big, but very personal, you can talk to friends and mingle with others. Great dive bar.
