This place is my go-to bar in town. There is an ever-changing selection of microbrews on top of their own Highland Park staples (try Refresh, its perfect for the summer heat!). Their fried-pickles are amazing. Everything is very reasonably priced. The bartenders and staff are friendly and helpful and there is a good amount of seating: tables, booths, a large picnic bench, the bar, and a high bar. It gets pretty crowded though on the weekends, so I prefer going on weekday nights.

Out of all new(ish) places on York blvd., this one ismy favorite. Crowd is diverse and the beers are always carefully selected. Order some of the excellent HPB brews with a side of fried pickles or fried chicken sandwich. Wine selection is great too. Pick a place by the window and watch Highland Park get even more gentrified.

We make it here every now and again and every time I say we should come back more often. The star here is Highland Park Brewery and their beers, SO DAMN FN GOOD! What is better is that there food aint no slouch. Beer, food & Donut Friend is almost next door...sounds like I know where I am going this weekend!

This place has made a name for themselves in the neighborhood. They make their own beer (which is delicious) and offer a selection of other featured beer and wine. Food is good too, tasty gastro-pub style offerings. Try the delicious fried polenta.

Nice spot for drinks. Dark, chill atmosphere. A few bar games including shuffleboard. Drink menu is displayed with an overhead projector, so the +30 crowd should prepare for elementary school flashbacks.
