The food here is truly special! I became a regular not long after they opened (and would still go daily if I hadnt moved to a different part of town), and this friendly local women-owned business has grown so impressively in just a year or two—for good reason. Everything is beautifully, carefully prepared, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the food is super healthy on top of being delicious. For me, Amara is right up there with Sqirl on the shortlist of joints making the best modern California cuisine everyday-accessible.

Organic this organic that is not my cup of tea...usually but Amara made me a believer. Dont come on Tuesday their closed which I found out last week so I came back the next day. They have an interesting breakfast menu and after reading it I selected their Purple Eggs. Two Poached Eggs and tri-colored potato patties on mixed greens. Wow, better than good. Still hungry I went for their single pancake which was more of the same great taste. They may make me a believer about organic!

Good good in a small, homey neighborhood kitchen joint. I had the Purple Eggs with a side of prosciutto. There were so many yummy flavors in the dish: the her by fresh greens, the savory potato patties, the tart pickled purple cabbage, and the sweet beets. My niece had a delicious plate of Paleo Pancakes. I had a bite, they were tasty and moist, not dry like some gluten free pancakes are. Definitely stop by is you can. Its easy to miss, but follow your GPS and youll get there.

About as hipster as it gets, located on the Northside of Highland park. Its pricey, but their food and pastries are excellent. Coffee and teas are exceptional. Purple eggs or the avo toast are my faves. Quality is the story here.

Reminds me a lot of sqirl. Food very fresh and tasty. High quality but a tad expensive for what you get. Even the set up is similar. Will definitely come back. Street parking only. Glad to have something like this nearby!

Delicious food with options for gluten free and paleo dieters. Downside is the seating is limited so large parties are not easily accommodated. Sidewalk tables do face the sun the morning. Bring sunscreen when its hot out!

I love what they are trying to do (local, organic) but some of their prices are ridiculous. If I am going to pay $6 for an iced Chai, please make sure it is not watery. The food I had was pretty good.
