When we first got there me and my husband thought the place was beautiful. Then our hostess was extremely rude didnt say the wait time nor did she greet us or welcome us when first arriving like any restaurant does. We brushed if off no biggie because it was packed, but then my husband went to the bar to order a drink and was ignored by one bartend when asking for a drink and then MOCKED and made fun of by another when asking if he could sit there while waiting for a table, which they then procedded to bring someone else to attend him of HIS COLOR. I was so appalled!!!!!! this was the first time in my life we had ever been racially discriminized for being Mexican. He was a Caucasian male with blonde hair and a blonde beard working yesterdays shift at the bar at 6:00 pm. I wish I wouldve known his name so everyone can know he is a racist. Which I know I was not taking out of proportion because they then proceeded to bring over the manager over to check his ID again. My husband felt so uncomfortable where I even asked him if he wanted to leave but it was our first time and didnt want to let the poor staff ruin it. We went as a family last night with my 1 year old son and were treated EXTREMELY well by our waiter dean. He is the only reason I am leaving 4 stars to be honest. He made sure to check up on us and played with my son even pinching his cheeks ❤ he is obviously training people for a good reason because he was the ONLY one who gave us impeccable customer service. Thank you dean for turning our whole experience around. If I ever return to yard house is will be only because of him !!

Summary: Great beer selection. If you like craft brews, this is a wonderful place to try a bunch. The prices for the beers are a little on the high side, but not too unreasonable. The food is more hit and miss. The garlic noodles in either of the three incarnations are good if not overcooked. Parking requires validation and a few dollars on top of that. My wife and I went here on a Saturday night at around 7pm and were told we should expect an hour to 75 minute wait. Fortunately, we found a table in the bar area and didnt have to wait at all. We were soon greeted by a server and placed our drink order. I got a Unibroue La Fin Du Monde and my wife got a half yard of the house honey blonde. A little later we placed our food order. Here is what we got: Tortilla soup - A great blend of textures and very tasty. Good as usual. :) Lobster garlic noodles - Delicious and al dente. Just right, thankfully. Peppered gorgonzola burger - This, unfortunately, was very disappointing. I asked for the burger cooked medium and it was definitely more medium rare. It was also really dry and bland. The wheat bun fell apart as soon as I picked it up. The grilled onions were over-poweringly sweet. If it werent for the fries (which were awesome), this would have been a complete bust. Ive had better meals at Yard House. This was my worst so far from the 3 or 4 that I have been to. I assume it was a one-time thing, but the poor burger and slowish service really made me feel the experience was not as good as it should have been.

Ive been dining at this place for years and loved everything about it. I hadnt been in a few months and was craving a enchilada stack and ahi tuna. Soooooo.. I went a few days ago and decided to take my boys, it was the first for them. The wait was about 30 minutes. My buzzer went off, meaning my table was ready, no. We were taken to a dirty table. So had to go back and wait 10 more minutes. Finally we were seated at a booth in the bar. OMG, it was sooooooo dirty all around the area. The booth we were seated in was filthy. The seats still had food on them. The table had rings from the cups and plates of previous diners and to top it off the headrest of the booth had all kinds of nasty stains on it idk what they were.. and just to see if I was tripin I took a napkin, added a few drops of water and rubbed it, the nastiness came off smh.. which meant they just didnt clean it, ugh!!! On to the food.. My oldest ordered the enchilada stack. My youngest ordered a truffle burger and I ordered the steak dinner, cooked medium. Service was pretty fast. Enchilada stack came out cold. The burger was horrible. It was dry and didnt have a dash of seasoning. He couldnt eat it. My steak was well on one end and medium on the other, ugh.. the broccoli was cold and mashed potatoes was cold and bland... I had to share half my steak (the well cooked end) with my son because he was hungry and couldnt eat his burger. I paid $100 for a horrible meal and filthy booth.. I was sooooooooo disappointed

My dinner started out fine. our waiter john was really nice and helpful but as the night went on the service became horrible. i was eating with a party of eight and asked 3 times for a refill of my drink and never got it but i didnt let it bother me as i tried to enjoy my food. then when i was done, i asked for a box for my food several times and never received it either. as everyone was getting their bills, i just wanted to go so i left my food there with no box and proceeded to pay my portion of the bill to which i found out that they overcharged my bill. i spoke to the waiter and he told me that the credit cards that were used had accidentally been switched but hed fix it right away. i signed the bill and went home to check my statement only to find that the waiter had STILL charged me the wrong amount for the bill. ive called the restaurant three times since trying to rectify the situation but have only been blown off and ignored. its almost been 3 weeks since i had my meal there and i am STILL waiting for my bill to be corrected. i have never seen such horrible service from a restaurant before in my life. i tried to be patient with them but i will NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO DINE HERE EVER. I just want my bill corrected so i never have to deal with yard house ever again.

On Saturday Sept 22nd 2007, I visited the Yardhouse to have a few drinks and celebrate a friends birthday. During the course of the evening, apparently the management had some trouble with an Indian(east Indian) patron, and decided to cut him off from purchasing any more alcohol. However the punitive action didnt end there. The management also summarily cut off any person in the restaurant who was Indian or looked Indian from purchasing any alcohol. The rationale being that we would buy beer and pass it off to those who were cut off. I am an Indian and had no affiliation with the trouble makers, however because of my ethnic makeup, I was also denied service. My girlfriend who is caucausian however, was served freely and without hinderance. I dont believe the yardhouse condones this type of behaviour, however they have a terrible problem in their backyard, in the form of a racist manager. Upon talking to the staff, who were very apologetic, I came to find out that the majority of the staff despise the manager, and were in agreement with my assesment of the situation. If you are black, hispanic, asian, be warned, you may find a 60s era jim crow experience if you choose to patronize the Yardhouse in Long Beach.
