I came here with my family for a birthday dinner. Although they were a little busy for a Monday night, we were seated right away and didnt wait too long to order and receive our meal. On request, they seated us outside in their dining patio, which was perfect on a Long Beach summer night. They also serve very generous portions -- perfect for family-style eating. We ordered the small bowl of chicken corn soup as an appetizer. It came out right away and was hot and delicious. They then brought out the sesame bread, which was not too heavy or greasy, and went well with their sweet and sour sauce. For the main course, we shared the orange chicken, broccoli beef, and hand-pulled vegetable chow mein noodles. The chicken got a little lost in the breading, but it was fresh and the flavor was spot on. The beef was tender, but I wish there was more beef in the plate, and less onion. The chow mein noodles were super soft, but held together well, and were definitely a good choice; my toddler ate all the noodles we put on her plate. When we told them it was my wifes birthday, they brought her a couple scoops of pistachio ice cream with a candle on top. All in all, we were very satisfied with our meal and our visit. Well be back again soon.

I dont see the hype. Located at the corner of this strip mall. Parking was fine location wasnt too hard to find. There wasnt any wait we were seated quite quickly but the service wasnt the best. We had ordered scallion pancakes to start. Not bad a little oily, not big on flavors here. I was hoping there was a sauce to come with it, but that was it. For the main dish we had ordered just white rice with orange chicken. It was a big disappointment when we saw an orange chicken dish go out with an employee for break before ours. We ended up needing to find our server to remind him of our dish about 10 minutes later. Nomad short ribs was also on the table wasnt too bad. But overall to me it was just normal Chinese food, nothing interesting. Atmosphere: 4 (Couple areas for seating, dark place, also have outdoor seating. Felt very naked inside with a few pictures for sale on the walls.) Food Quality: 3 (Little overpriced for the food served.) Service: 3 (Lacking. Seemed disorganized and wait for food was long.) Cleanliness: 4 Stars 3.5. Wont be back.

Ive been searching all over Long Beach for a decent Chinese restaurant ever since I moved here 3 years ago. Before I discovered this place, the closest city where I could find decent Chinese food would be Cerritos. Judging from the modern decor and the mostly non-Asian clientele, I have to admit I didnt expect the food here to be authentic. And I was happy to find out how wrong I was. Their staples (beef roll and hand shaven noodle were two of my favorites) were equally as delicious as those from restaurants in San Gabriel valley. The prices are slightly higher but I guess its just because theres really no competition nearby. Hands down, the best Chinese restaurant in Long Beach!

Was very disappointed after all the hype I received. Got here right as they opened. Ordered pot stickers as an appetizer but received them well after our entrees. To add to that, didnt receive the ones we asked for. Sat next to the patio door where they have a small counter that contains to go cartons. Was pretty organized until they started placing dirty dishes there, touching the to go cartons and small gnats began coming. After telling the waiter about the pot stickers, he went to tell the manager who refused to take a couple steps to talk to us or even make her staff feel comfortable said he couldnt do anything about the 8$ mess. Long story short, first and last time.

Food was great. It was lighter on the spices while we wanted more spicy. We were seated in the area with a door to our right to go to front patio and another door to the left to go to side patio. It was 830p on Dec 11, 2016. Workers were constantly opening both doors letting cold air in every two minutes. They were moving chairs outside to mop inside floor at 845 pm. Although time to close the restaurant is 9pm. It was too noisy due to chairs moving and the busboy dumping dishes and silverware in trays. Too noisy. We could not enjoy the best tasting food. Wont go there late. Be there at least 1 hr before closing.

Food was good but service is awful and the place is too crowded and too noisy. We went there on Sunday night and the place was packed. We sat next to a big group who were having a birthday party for a child, with too many kids running and playing around the table. I felt like I was at chuckee cheese. The waiter took forever to take out order and we had to wait for more than 20 minutes just to get the soup. I ordered the shrimp fried rice but I think it came with like 7 shrimps (at $13.50). Overall I think its overpriced. The crowd was mostly Middle Eastern and Muslim ( too many women with head scarves and hijab)

When my Muslim friend first suggested we try this Islamic Chinese restaurant, I scoffed at the idea of a pork-less Chinese food experience. Man, was I mistaken. Nomad has become my goto for legit Chinese food. Do they have dishes like sea turtle jello? No. But for what they lack in dishes unique to the American palate, they makeup for in perfected plates like their garlic and chili string beans, black pepper chicken, and the hand-cut noodles with lamb. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Although the food was pretty good. The service was disappointing. I was under the assumption that this restaurant being Halal was held to a higher standard. Especially in customer service. They were short staffed and the workers were not gracious and efficient. To top it off our food was not brought to us at one time but one at a time along a 45 minute time span. I was very annoyed especially with the waitresses unapologetic attitude.

First of all... Customer service is excellent!! Its so unfair how every single thing on the menu is amazing. I live right down the street and me and my roommates always try to order something different every single time but there is sooo much to choose from! And they give u so much food its just insane...I really love this place... I havent been to any other Chinese food place every since I came here! The best Chinese place ever lol!!!!

The halal chinese food here is second to none. I used to frequest another halal chinese join called mas nearby but I stopped going after price raises, health violations, and terrible service. These guys originally were a bit pricier but the increase in good quality, service, and look of the joint makes it all worth the extra cost. They also have a prayer mat for use on request! Try out their beef noodle soup, its amazing!

I travel 30 miles here to have the best Chinese Halal food in South Bay. It is a spin off from Mas Islamic Chinese in Anaheim, but much better in terms of food quality. They dont serve green tea after meals like Mas, but thats fine. Food could get pricier than other chinese restaurants but the outdoor ambience is awesome. The following are a must try - Orange chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Kung Pao Beef, Chicken Chow Mein.
