I cant really review the food quality since I never got the chance to try it. Being from Long Beach, I am accustomed to not receiving the best service possible, but my visit to this place last night was just plain ridiculous. Sure, it was busy because it was First Fridays in Bixby Knolls, but that is no reason to be ignored 10 times without being greeted or offered a menu or assurance that they would get to us. Nothing. Just literally ignored. In the meantime, other patrons were offered friendly greetings and tables. After waiting for thirty minutes with no attention, we left.

Great New York style deli, the pastrami is pretty good. The breakfast here is also really good I had the hash and I was not disappointed. The apricot stuffed challah French toast with one of my favorite things I got there. The thing to get here though is definitely the desserts so make sure to save some room. There is some street parking but I think its best to park in the back.

Staff is only pleasant to obvious locals. We walked in, waited a couple minutes without getting any acknowledgment. Another local walked in behind us, and was greeted, seated, and served immediately. Had to hunt down the waitress just to get seated and continued to be ignored. We left pissed off, and probably werent even noticed. I do not recommend this place.

Why should you spend $13 for a cornbeef on rye sandwich? BECAUSE ITS THE BEST SANDWICH YOULL EVER EAT!!! Yeah this place is expensive, but its so worth it. All the meats are cured and prepared in their own kitchen, cakes are baked fresh daily, and everything else they make there is the highest quality and tastes better than anywhere else!

The pastrami here is amazing!!! I love to get the Bixby special with fries. It is a lot of food and I usually have to take some home but it is sooo good. Have had breakfast here as well. Nothing too crazy on the breakfast menu but it was good. Whatever time of day you come for be sure to get the pastrami!!!

Good cornbeef. Good matzo. The black and white cookie ..meh. The ganash was off and there was no lemonyness which i am accustomed to in the cake of the cookie. The cakes have been hit and miss because of freshness, but when amiss the deli made up for it the next go round. Double Chocolate mmm

Ordered lox and bagel with capers and fresh sliced tomatoes and red onions. Bagel was smaller than the tomato slices, red onions had no flavor, service was poor. Visiting Long Beach; wanted to find a good Jewish deli cclose-by. Going back to Katella Bakery!

This is starting to become one of my favorite spots to eat in Bixby Knolls. The food is delicious (everything taste fresh), the service is good and the prices are decent. Oh and do NOT leave without trying some dessert, especially the 24k carrot cake!

Madrona Beach

This place is AWESOME. Best bagels in town, best deli in the region. There are very few authentic Jewish delis on the West Coast, and this is one of them. Long Beach is super-lucky to have it.
