Im a Miami boy, so for those of you who dont know, we do pizza and sandwiches better than any other city. Still yet, I will find a little oasis out here in the L.A. desert, like Beach Cities Deli--believe it or not, theyre as good as any of em. While they dont serve deli meat by the pound, everything else about it screams full-service deli, geared up for large appetites. Youll always find a variety of homemade deli dishes and salads to choose from, along with individual deserts which theyll throw in the oven for five minutes if you ask--seasonal cobblers and pies,. Tiramisu is better cold, folks. Oh yea, dont forget the main dishes: pork chops in apple glaze with sides of scalloped potatoes. Or country fried steak on top of mashed potatoes. Or baby back ribs on fresh BBQ sauce. How could I forget to mention the sandwiches: Torpedro, pulled pork, and my last item for review: the Reuben. While it doesnt resemble a Miami / Cuban Reuben, it is, unarguably, in my top three pork dishes ever. The other two are smoked, wild boar, and Bourbon Streets Bacon/blue mac and cheese. It took hard work to earn a spot on my pork podium. Well done!

Ive probably stated in many of my reviews how picky I am when it comes to food. This is probably THE best sandwich I have had in a very long time. I love deli sandwiches and most are yummy and leave me satisfied but when I like something, I reaaaally like it. To the point where I had it again the next day. And thought about it all day today. Point? If you want a bomb ass sandwich, this is your place. The meats are all moist and super fresh (hey, Ive been to places where lunch meat tastes old, woof), lettuce and tomatoes super crisp, and their basil garlic spread---I think this is what sets it all off.

Came here with high hopes. We ordered the guido and trip tip sandwiches. The guido was nothing special. You could make it at home. The tri tip was dry and didnt have much bbq sauce to add flavor. For the price you might as well go to jerseys mikes or go get a burger from Bunz gourmet burger. We did try the macaroni salad which was alright. Be prepared to wait a while for your food to be prepared. We stood there for 15 min while they made 3 sandwiches. Flies were all over the meat slicer. We were scared we would get sick.

Tried the bbq beef & beef dip w/Swiss. Good portions on both, though Phillippes has been my standard for 70 yrs., & if l compared, there would be a lack. Horseradish could have been more intense, mild bbq sauce not as sweet, hot mustard would be a welcome Addn. Will sample ribs next visit. Good stop, courtesy food preppy gals in beloved old san pedro for hungry souls. Extra clean too!

I would have given this place five stars because I like the small but varied selection. The guys who work the counter are super nice...the only issues I have ever had have been with the owner (Asian woman) who seems super rude/disinterested? Cant really figure it out and not really trying to devote time to it but she just needs to stay home and let they guys run it.

Ive lived up the street for 30 years. This is a very friendly store. My brother used to work there. I grew up going here. Never a problem! Now ever since they had the deli. I had to try the sandwiches. Super fresh! You wont regret it. More options then busy bee!

If youre a San Pedro local then you know how awesome Beach City Market is! What storefront offers a deli, amazon mailbox service, UPS dropoff checkpoint AND a laundromat! The service here is SUUUUUPPER friendly!

EDIT: LOCATION CLOSED 03/2017 Their sandwiches are so good. The staff is very friendly. They have a good selection of wine and beer and there are always specials on wine.
