I stopped here for what I thought would be a quick snack on a nice 32 mile bike ride. First of all, there were no decent places to park my bicycle. The first place I leaned my bike up against (next to the outdoor patio fence), a customer walked by who wasnt paying attention and brushed by it, causing it to fall. The second place I parked my bike was better but it was more out of the way, thus causing me to have to keep glancing over my shoulder every minute to check on the safety of my $3000 bike. This is annoying. Okay, now on to the service...when I arrived, there were 3 people in line ahead of me. 1 minute later, the person in front of me sighed loudly and left, probably to find another quick stop cafe to visit. Now Im third in line. It took 10 minutes to move up in line to order. There are 3 employees (cashier, "cook", espresso girl). The inside and outside of this cafe was full of customers who were already eating, drinking and enjoying conversations with friends and family. So, no, the long wait wasnt caused by all the other people sitting down. These employees were just incredibly slow. I was studying how they worked and there wasnt an ounce of "pep in your step" in these guys. (Ever been to a busy Starbucks? The employees literally run around and move like theyre on speed). The cashier guy here reminded me of the surfer guy who smokes a lot of weed in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. The "cook" was assembling sandwiches, bagels, oatmeal, etc, and was very slow at doing so. He seemed more focused on watching the customers than doing his job quickly. Its not that time consuming...slice, toast, spread, here ya go! But no, each one he made was painstakingly slow. I stood there watching him for 15 minutes. When my bagel finally came up, he seemed confused with the order. He asked me if I wanted cream cheese on both sides and then avocado on the side? No, I wanted it with cream cheese one side and avocado spread on the other side. It finally was made. Then I got my Americano with room for cream. It was delicious but took way too long. I ate outside, enjoying the sunshine and the much needed calories from this mid-ride snack. Overall, the food and coffee was good, but the service was horribly slow. I will not return.

Some mixed reviews about the food but the thing theyre leaving out is that this is healthy eats. And the portions are great for the price. Compared to the likes of Starbucks and their tiny portions, along with their relatively unhealthy menu, this place is great. The white sands frappe is amazing and the Amazon acai bowl was much bigger than I couldve asked for. Love this place!

I always go to shore thing cafe after Im finished surfing at scripps pier. The people that work there are extremely friendly and personable. I really enjoy all their sandwich wraps and coffees. I would recommend this place to all my family and friends! If you go then you should try the beach club wrap, it tastes amazing especially after a long surf session.

The most amazing chai I have ever had. I love how its mostly cinnamon and goes down like smooth music. This place is in a great location with cool atmosphere and easy to park within walking distance. Friendly staff and great selection of beverages and food. Definitely coming back here despite the 2086 mile distance.

The place was recommended to us by our bikes tour guide, Alex. It was a nice quick place to eat. We had half a sandwich and a quinoa salad. Everything was so yummy and healthy. Food was ready in a timely enough manner so you can pop in and out.

Staff are friendly, efficiently handling orders when there are lines. Food is great for take away, weve eaten on premise once and the ambiance is a typical urban breakfast café. Prices are decent for La Jolla. Weve been coming back for years!

They ran out of acai, bagels, peanut butter, and potatoes on a Saturday morning. We waited 20+ minutes for our food, the staff was rude, and we could see how dirty the kitchen was from the rest of the cafe. Would not recommend.

Amazing quality produce, and fast customer service. Great lunch stop after a day at the beach with friends or family. Try the beach club sandwich! Everything is reasonably priced.
