Had a terrible experience yesterday with the OWNER, I couldnt believe she was the owner! First I came in with a 1 hour lunch, they said the wait would be 20minutes so I decided to order to-go. I ordered quesadillas since I am gluten intolerant & pregnant (sensitive to certain foods) I got corn tortillas with cheese 3 of them. She explained they usually make them with three layers I said just two not three tortillas would be fine. She didnt warn me the cost was $6 EACH! When I asked her why it was $20 for 3 small quesadillas and guacamole. She showed me the childs menu and said thats the cheapest way for her to charge the food. I explained I had been here before and that I was not charged this amount. She seemed to just want a fight, her first solution was for me not to take the food, Not an option with limited lunch time and a small amount of foods that I craved. She showed me the quesadilla on the childs menu I pointed out that they were 3 layered and came with an extra side, she seemed to get flushed then said do you want three sides. I said no just take a few dollars of each one she said she absolutely could not that her cost in food and labor was barely covered. I explained AGAIN I have come multiple times before and was never charged this much. I finally realized she wasnt listening and was on a power trip, I told her I had my own bus. in the area and would NEVER treat a client this way that she had been so rude and crude that I would never be back. It blows my mind in this economy that someone would chase away a customer because of a bad day... Also the last few times I went I experienced bad service Long waits to take orders and long waits for food 20-30 mins to order and another 20 to get food. Dont waste your time I will never ever go back.

Sorry, I know the place is very popular but I had brunch there this morning with my family. It was one of the worst breakfast/brunches I have ever had, ever. Ordered Huevos Rancheros. I was asked how I wanted my eggs cooked. I said sunny side up. Order came out cold with cold beans and poached overcooked cold eggs under a cold tortilla with an awful tasting, cold, red, muddy, cheesy sauce. Tasted my wifes pancakes. No flavor, like cardboard. Sent back the Rancheros and within 7 minutes got another order ( virtually impossible with food cooked to order). Came out somewhat warm with again over cooked, probably pre-cooked poached eggs from the frig. and a green tasteless salsa. Beans tasted like they came out of a can. Coffee was fair to poor. Mother-in-law had an omelette - rubbery and tasteless. Maybe Im being too harsh and picky. On the other hand maybe the kitchen staff should be more aware and take more pride in what they are producing.

In 1988, when one needs relief from the beautiful Mt Tam vistas and the Bernd Enders and The UNIVERSE (a general physics class at the college) and an exciting future, when youre with Heidi Ewing, you get a cup of the Earl grey tea, with hunny and milk. And love, love, love Heidi Ewing. Shes so enchanting. So winsome and beguiling. Shes now Heidi Lundy on Stinson Beach, Marin County. So lovely. Came back in 2010. No Heidi Ewing. No nothing. Bring your Kodak Retina Camera.

I should have gotten the eggs benedict. My bacon and eggs were really good, but the bite I had of my moms eggs benedict was life-changing. The cinnamon roll was okay. I didnt fill with regret after consuming it, which for me is required if a cinnamon roll is really good. This one tasted almost healthy; I think it had raisins in it. It wasnt bad, it just wasnt the heart-pounding, sugar-loaded, gooey, buttery deliciousness I expect from a cinnamon roll.

I LOVE Half Day Cafe, come here all the time. Wish they allowed dogs on patio. Servers are AWESOME! So friendly without being fake. The food is consistently delicious. Big parking lot, great location in a light filled former mechanics garage (from the 20s). One of my favorite places to eat....ever.

Phenomenal food! It can get a bit busy on the weekends, but you will not regret the wait, or anything that you order. They are such nice people, and have been here since I was a little kid. I have, literally, been coming here for over twenty years, and think of them as a part of my family.

Ive always liked this place. The atmosphere is great as the architectural design rounds out the experience. Now to what really matters - the food. A wide variety of dishes for both breakfast and lunch suits everyone. The quality and taste is excellent on every dish Ive had over the years.

Very solid breakfast and brunch options. I noticed everyone around me eating eggs benedict, so you might want to give them a try. I enjoyed my blackened burger and fries and really enjoyed the great service we received for such a busy Sunday morning.
