I wish I could leave 0 stars. So today (3/10/2013@7pm) was my 3rd year anniversary with my girlfriend. I thought it would be nice to eat at the local olive garden (3755 Alton Pkwy, Irvine, CA). So we walk in and immediately we got an awkward silence and blank stare from the host boy (young, brown hair, feminine looking), who walked us to our table without saying a word. We realized that we were seated in the far right room of the building, where only minorities (alike us) were seated. The host boy handed us our menus and didn’t care to say something like “the waitress will be with you shortly.” But during the moment, I just overlooked this rudeness and looked thru the menu. As my girlfriend and I sat there, we noticed that we were constantly being ignored. The brunette waiter (I didn’t catch her name) walked by us two times to ask us if we need any water or if we were ready to order like any usual restaurant. There was also a tall older gentleman (6’3”+) and a younger gentleman who was standing right next to us at the bar, who both ignored us when we were ready to order. The taller one then proceeded to walk past us with his head down twice, grabbing the check from the table next to us and coming back. Than the only other waitress there, proceeded to help a table behind us, than the next table after (row of 3 tables, we were in the end), than as she walked by our table I saw her glimpse momentarily at us and immediately look away as I made eye contact and helped the table in front of us. Note it has already been 10-15 minutes, and absolutely no service has been received. Ultimately, we were very pestered and decided to walk out. As we walk out the same blonde waitress said “thank you,” which I’m assuming is the instinctive thing to say to customers as they walk again. This obviously showed how much attention they paid to us. This has been the worst service I have ever received at a restaurant. It seems as if Olive Garden is having a tough time in this economy, but the poor customer service is inexcusable for any restaurant as long as they are in business. This used to be one of my favorite Italian Food restaurants that I would frequent on holidays, but this is the last time I will ever step in one.

Olive Garden is the neighborhood family restaurant good for all ages. Food prices have gone up, but the soup, salad, and breadsticks are addictive! There’s usually long line if you don’t go at the right time. What’s most impressive is their delivery service! We ordered from catering menu for a large party for delivery (available for orders $125 or more), thinking they’d just drop off the items at the site like Domino’s, but no! We were pleasantly surprised to see two team members with BAGS of goodies to set up the table (using our own table of course), putting on nice signature brown (disposable) tablecloth, utensils, serving spoons, etc. The food was nice and hot considered we’re 20 minutes away from the restaurant. It was a breeze ordering from them; staff were courteous and professional. Their combination selection is pretty good covering salad, entrée, and desserts. Great for last minute get together when you gotta feed people and don’t have the time to do any planning/cooking. We gladly paid the 15% delivery charge and tipped the delivery team. :)

This location is not the worst, but their manager is a complete waste of space. Apparently you cant get to go orders today (valentines day) because they are expecting to be busy in the restaurant. This not only ruins my wife and Is plans of enjoying a nice home dinner and a movie get away from the crowds evening but upsets me in general. You pay the same price for to go food, but there is no service or table, yet they refuse to offer this portion of their business on a busy day? Ugh. I have words for you OG, but most of them are improper and four letters. I wasted 45 minutes redialing an always busy number before they finally answered to let me know what I could go do with myself. GRRR. No wonder this whole franchise is going under.

Today we went there the waiter was very rude and we had to wait for long time to order food as he was busy talking to others. When we ordered food we wanted breadsticks which we got after finishing food. When we complained abt it he said they ran out of bread sticks and he said he didnt know if the bakery guy was sleeping or what. The lady who got food(Lori) for us was also rude to us when we told her abt bread sticks she asked us first abt our nationality .This thing happened to us last time also when we went there for dinner I ordered soup and after bringing one bowl of soup they said they ran out of soup. The worst service ever will never go there again.

I called the Laguna Hills location to inquire about what could be done within policy, for my wife and I as we celebrate our 2yr anniversary. I requested the manager (Ron I think) and he was too busy to even entertain my questions. This is key as I told him I was giving his location the benefit of the doubt, after looking at that locations positive and negative reviews. He actually said he didnt give reviews much thought! No wonder the positive reviews are so far and in between! I received a totally different vibe from the Irvine location...Sue, Amy and Rob (from Irvine) you have my business! I hope you assist in making this Veteran and wife enjoy our day!

Steak Gorgonzola, what a mess, 4 small diffenrent sizes of "left over" pieces of steak, the waiter asked me if i wanted EXTRA parmesan cheese on it, that doent work for this dish, can someone train the staff? The 4 steak pieces where as followed: 2 well done - like gum - 2 the way i ordered the "MEDIUM", - take it OFF the menue if you cant provide the steak pieces as ordered. since I had company I didnt return the dish! This Olive Garden has plenty of seating, but it can fill up quickly for dinner; a wait is expected. The food is excellent, and I have had no bad experiences with service. I frequented this location when I had the Never Ending Pasta Pass, and I got to know some of the wait staff. Parking is ample in this area, as it shares a large lot with other businesses.

Always a pleasure with large groups; they treat you like family; staff can be hit & miss; experience can be horrible if you get a waiter/waitress that just follow the rules by the book; or it can be great if the waitress know; that you came in for the unlimited soup/salad, and yes we SHARE; and most of the entree is taken home for another meal.

I am a huge Olive Garden fan, but this is the worst branch I have ever been to. Avoid it if you can. It smells unpleasant from the moment you enter, my portions were all far smaller than they are at other locations, and it took much longer than usual too. Overall, the quality was startlingly low. This branch should be evaluated for quality.

I wanted to place my order on-line but the pick up time said I would have to wait two hours. So I ordered on the phone to get a shorter wait. When I went to the restaurant to pick up the food it was an unorganized mess and I seemed to have been forgotten while servers ignored me and talked about their personal lives. I will not go back.
