Im giving this El Torito one star because the employees that day were nice...but the food was TERRIBLE! (One star is the lowest rating, but Im giving them an extra star for niceness...) My daughter and I stopped here prior to her flight out of John Wayne Airport. First of all, this is not an "El Torito" it is an El Torito Grill, which SHOULD be clearly indicated, but ISNT, on Google (we had an online deal for a "buy one entree, get one free", which WASNT valid at this location. If wed known that, we would have gone to the conveniently located Dana Point Harbor location, right by my house!) Next, were both vegetarians, and this locations has practically ZERO vegetarian/vegan options! (We normally get the veggie fajitas or the spinach enchiladas). So, based on our waiters recommendation, we ordered the Veggie Burrito. It was, in a word, DISGUSTING! (My daughter and I have hearty appetites, and will eat most anything, but neither of us could palate this item). It was wrapped in an oddly colored orange tortilla of some sort, w/veggies soaking in some orange-colored sauce...cheese, maybe? YUK! We ended up sending it back, something we never do. Anyway, neither of us will never go here again!

I visited this El Torito for a business lunch. The establishment was clean and the host was friendly and attentive. It was downhill from there. When we were seated the appetizer plates that were set for us to use had food stains on it. To make matters worse after I finished my cup of water I realized that it had a brown residue ring toward the bottom. I asked for a new cup and the waiter promptly returned with a new cup of water. I was leery of the food and inspected almost every bite wondering if I was going to have another unexpected surprise. Ultimately there was nothing wrong with the food and the flavor is what you would expect of an established franchise such as El Torito. This experience has not ruined my confidence in the El Torito franchise. Sometimes there is a bad apple in the bunch.

Food was good but service not so much, took several attempts to flag down our server to be able to take our food order then he forgot about me and my plate came out 10 minutes later. Normally I dont complain about this because if the are in a rush hour it can happen but we got there 20-30 minutes before rush hour for lunch when it was empty and then when it came time to leave we had to search our waiter down for the check so we could leave. I have waited tables before and it is bad if people have to search you down so you can pay to leave, especially when there was a full staff working, yes, I. Can count. If you are not in a rush it is good food just dont be surprised if it takes a while.

I really wanted to give 5 stars since El Torito is one of my favorite Mexicanrestaurants. Ive been to different location one but this place was first time, it might be because they were busy since the waitress said we are backed up today but when we got our food my food wasnt fresh. My 2 others were good but I could tell that my food was sitting for a while. Onions Inside of Carne Asada Britto wasnt cooked throughly. Beans and rice on sides were not warm at all. I maybe go back to the one I always go to.

Its nice to go in groups for happy hour or taco Tuesday. Sometimes the tacos can be really good, sometimes they are okay. But their happy hour drinks are a good price for the margaritas. Also, Its usually been pretty crowded everytime Ive gone, and the service for the most part has been good. If you want to go in a bug group you should come a little early because it can be tough to get a table.

I love El Torito and have visited many of them. To me, this one is by far the best one. I imagine being close to the airport (right across the road) they are used to offering fast service and quick turnaround. I have never had a bad day here and I have been coming here once a month for about ten years now. I will easily go 30 miles out of my way jst to go to this specific El Torito.

I went to this place for the first time last week. I guess they have a new happy hour but it was all new to me. I ordered from the happy hour menu 3 items for like 13 bucks. It was a good amount of food at a great price. I recommend the sliders. Service was great everyone was really upbeat.

We went for mothers day and it seemed the wait was going to be forever. It wasnt. We only waited for 35 minutes and the food and service was EXCELLENT. The head Chef Eddie even made an exception for me and made me fresh shredded beef tacos and hand delivered them. It was AMAZING!!!

Very good chips and salsa the salsa is on the hot side, beware. I just had a taco salad which was good especially the avocado dressing, but it looks like a lot of people are enjoying drinks from the bar with or without food, and the drink menu has a lot of variety.

The food was great. I highly suggest the carne asada burrito was seasoned very well. Dont be afraid of the chipotle sauce on top. It goes great with it. For the drinkers, I suggest the super Cadillac margaritas. The extra shot rly makes the drink.

This is the headquarters outlet. For the best, juiciest burger this is the place. Cheap price for great quality. Only burgers, fries, shakes and soft drinks but I bet you will return. Ask about the secret menu.

Wasnt that impressed with the food here, yes, I know its a chain, but it could be better. Also, the bathrooms were pretty dirty and terrible. However, the service was good and so was the people watching.

Just your average Mexican food restaurant. It is right across from John Wayne Airport (SNA), so that is nice. One thing that I do love about the place is the staff. Always super friendly and courteous.

After repeated visits I will refuse to return. The bartender is terrible. Im on a lunch break and just to get chips and salsa and a cup of soup took me over an hour. It wasnt even busy.

Great place for happy hour. If youre travelling, the drinks are cheaper than across the street at the airport. The margaritas were tasty but weak. They have some decent beers on tap.
