The absolute worst of what human beings are capable of creating! Poor quality fish, small minuscule portions, limited selection, rice that is not cooked properly, imitation crab, a drunk Sushi Chef forgetting what we ordered, dropping bottles of hot sauce on the floor and pacing back and forth between sloppy slurred toasts with equally as intoxicated patrons, exorbitant prices, dingy decor...getting the image??? We would like to take this restaurant to small claims court...we might just as well have been mugged in the alley way as a better way of losing our money...at least we would have been spared the ingestion of such low quality food... I feel embarrassed for these people, they have obliterated every precept of the great tradition of excellence and honor inherent in Japanese cuisine and sushi etiquette. Degenerate is the word that comes to mind to sum it all up! Criminal, would also be an apt phrase. When it comes to eating raw fish, it is very important to trust the restaurant has excellent skills in procurement, storage and presentation of the fish...this restaurant does not seem to be trustworthy and that could be dangerous. Pray for these poor misguided souls for obviously they know not what they do.

Terrible food! We had a tempura roll and It tasted like the oil hadnt been changed in years!!! Avocado on rolls was more like paste and the rolls werent rolled right and fell apart as they set them down. Everyone left feeling sick and we couldnt eat more then one piece per roll because every roll we got was awful. Save yourself time and money and skip eating here

My first and favorite sushi restaurant anywhere. Met Joe and his wife in 2001. This restaurant is the reason for my sushi addiction! Great atmosphere, conversation, and food. Sit at the bar and share a drink with Joe and your fellow patrons to get the full experience.

Horrible! Worst sushi Ive ever had. The rice was hard and dissolved soon as I grabbed a piece, it was horrible. It tasted dry! And any shrimp or eel or any fish portion in the sushi was super small, it was mostly dry rice. I do NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE its crappy!

Not good sushi as per the price ... I think this is one of the worst sushi experience I had ... Portions are so small, rice is so hard chew... Plus waitress did the wrong calculation and charged me extra, which I thankfully caught... Not recommended

Service was horrible. Only i waitress on the floor. Waited an hour and a half just to get a simple roll dish, which i never got my salad with meal. Sushi rolls were a sloppy mess. Bad overall.

Dont be dis-heartened by the outside. Sashimi had a nice gloss and is fresh. Much more pleasing than chain franchise down the road. Owner and wife prepare the dishes.

fantastic food, quiet and quaint atmosphere and great value. Best crunchy rolls in Socal so far by a mile and sushi combos are well planned and well assembled.

So the lady was really nice, they had great customer service, and she even ran out to our car to deliver some glasses we left behind. 10/10 would recommend.

Joe is so funny and entertaining. They have a wonderful oyster shooter and very frest tuna. We love there! Go check it out and have a drink with Joe!
