Stopped by after having dinner at Applebees with 3 friends for a little desert, was asking some simple questions to the guy behind the counter, I.e. Where is the pastry baked - in house or a main kitchen, is it fresh baked everyday, do you make your own puff pastry in house, its the carrot cake pretty moist, "he stated that it was," seemed as though he didnt like the questions. I really thought that the carrot cake looked really good and asked if the frosting was on the thicker or creamy side. ( I prefer the cream cheese frosting to be on the creamy side and not so thick). His wise ass answer really pissed me off when he told me that, " well it is made with cream cheese"- really. And what the hell does that mean - and then went on to say that I should be careful or he was going to throw me out of the store. Should have known better and saved him the enjoyment of throwing a customer out just for asking some questions and just left and not spend my money their Needless to say, we all ordered a sliced of cake, I did get the carrot cake, l thought that it was pretty dry, more like it was yesterdays product, and it really reminded me of fruit cake. Didnt finish it. Oh, by the way, Im not currently a pastry chef, but have been and have made ever product in that store, to include puff pasty by strach

Definitely has potential here but it seems like the owners/manager have checked out and some things are going unchecked. The employees are friendly and their customer service is fine. But heres the issue, the overall tidiness needs some work. Things like empty wine cases and refrigerator doors need to have something done with them. The countertops have so much junk on them and it just doesnt look clean and organized. The food needs some quality checks too. It all LOOKED good but while eating, there was nothing that really hit the mark beside the eggs on the egg benedict being cooked to a good consistency. The hash browns were moist and and soggy, although it had a nice crust on it. The english muffins really need to be toasted more to actually hold whats on them. The lox (salmon) produced a lot of juice, which isnt normal, I thought it was the yolk running onto my hand... It wasnt. The waffles didnt have anything all that particularly special about them either. Willing to come back and try again, but itll be awhile and the reviews would need to make me believe things have changed.

I used to love this place, but service has gone down hill. Ive never liked to leave a negative review but I had many negative experiences with the Prolific Oven. I feel their employees just want to leave ASAP and I get it, but you have set hours for a reason. Their espresso machine is off at 7 pm on a rainy friday, because they turn it off at 7 pm for cleaning. I called them to tell them I am picking up a cake but that I was caught in traffic and I was one exit away, and they tell me well if you make it before 9 pm or else we are sorry. OK. I made it there at 8:57 pm and had to run to the door because they were about to lock the door. And know ot so ridiculous to sell a 12 oz hot chocolate for $5 I was about to buy it but the staffs attitude was horrible. I feel this place will close soon. I dont wish them that. I hope they can improve their service. Palo Alto location is way better.

Yesterday I went to this restaurant which I have been frequenting at least 2 times a month. I always bring 2 - 3 friends with me as well. I ordered the Fish and Chips at 11:35 a.m. and at 12:00 p.m. my 2 buddies that were with me had already eaten and I had not gotten anything yet. At 12:05 p.m. I had to flag down the waitress and then talk to the owner about not having my food yet and then I also had to get it to go thus having to skip my lunch. The owners response was "Well, the fish and chips take a while to cook"; No apology; no nothing..... I explained to her that I had to miss my lunch now. Her response; "sorry".......... I will never return her due to her lack of respect and appreciation to her customers.....

I have got to say that I am not impressed with my experience with this place. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and a piece of cake and I couldnt even eat the fruit that was on the cake because it was so old and wilted. The breakfast sandwich was okay. I really regret having ordered the piece of cake though being that it was actually old. I probably should have said something at the time but I was hungry and just pushed aside the wilted fruit and wasnt really impressed with the rest of it. I would give this place another try I guess everybody has an off day.

I looked up ahead who would be serving Corn beef and Cabbage for St. Patricks Day and choose to go there for lunch (1pm) for that reason. There was a poster on the door saying that they were serving Corn beef and cabbage for lunch and dinner and when we ordered the man started to put in the order and then said sorry we are not serving it until 3pm. I told him that was why we came in and we had seen it on the website and he asked another woman and she no not until 3. We were very un happy about the food that we ordered.

We visited a Prolific Oven in Palo Alto and had a great time, so we decided to try this place since we figured it would be the same. Even though they have a similar name I dont think they are related at all, but we were delightfully surprise. We came after lunch so no food options for us other than a couple of pastries which were really good. They have a few options on the coffee and the espresso drinks came out quickly and tasted excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive, but it wasnt busy at the time we went.

Waited for service but no one answered the call, it was around 9:30 AM 8/7/15. There was only two people in the store and that was a clue on how things are going on here. Finally some lady stomps out of the back and drops a bag off with one of the persons there and walks by and says nothing. So out loud we can get better service else where and left. I can see why the store was empty and as far as I am concerned I can spend my money else where. No need to waste it on some ill manner employee at this place!!

I came here for dinner after a long workday and this place blew me away. There is a great atmosphere with a cafe style but with some nice technology added in. I got the prolific garden with turkey and it was possibly the best sandwich Ive ever had. the owner came around to ask how everything was, and the chai tea just hit the spot. Im so impressed that I already know where Im eating tomorrow before I head back home tomorrow, this place is highly recommended
