Worst experience Ive had at a local restaurant. The waiter literally messed up every order, brought things we didnt ask for and the food was way over priced for how good it is. After the order issue, I had them bag it up and was assured by the waiter all the orders were there.....get home and theres no tortillas for our food, I dont know whats so difficult, but train your staff bette before setting them lose since this guy clearly had NO idea what he was doing, wont recommend this place to anyone unfortunately. Update- I have now called and talked to multiple employees there asking to speak with a manager about what happened. Each time the employee has taken down my information and ensured me that I would receive a call back from a manager, but I still have yet to receive one. I am extremely disappointed in how they treat their customers and have NO idea how they were voted best in Humboldt County when this is how their business works.

We are definitely coming back here. We went for dinner a couple of nights ago. There were two servers, who were moving very quickly. We got seated promptly, and menus brought over; nice extensive menu. Entres were good. My husband got a carnitas tostada house specialty heaped on his plate. There was nothing left of it when he was done. Not just good, but excellent. Even the rice and beans were good. Do order the guacamole. It has the tang of lime juice, bringing back some of the best guacamole we had in Mexico. I really like the pico de gallo. While it was very hot, I just didnt care because the taste was so good. Next time, though, I will also get a side of sour cream. The servers and kitchen were quick, orders accurate. If only they had agua fresca besides horchata!

The good: Food is decent, probably among the best mexican in town. The bad: Everything else. Service is exceptionally slow. They have outgrown the spot they are located. The dirty dishes are placed on the same counter as the food going out, and its disgusting. Rarely is the place what you could call "clean". I have gotten ill at least once from their food. Service is extremely poor, with phone in orders taking an extremely long time and with a horrible attitude, the staff can sometimes be heard throwing temper tantrums right out in front of everyone. THREE TIMES now I have had my order lost after a 30-minute or longer wait, and some days they just wont even answer the phone at all. Decent food is not worth the trouble you go through to get it at this greasy spoon.

WOW, they advertise $1 tacos from 1:30 to 4:30 everyday on the radio and website, when my son and I got there, the place was empty and I told the guy that we wanted 5 $1 tacos each. The mexican guy said no no dont know anything about $1 tacos and when I told him we had seen and heard the ads for the tacos, typically he went into " me mexican, dont understand english mode", you all know what im talking about. He then disapeared into the back of the place, coming out in a minute and continued on the dont understand mode and tried to get across to me that they didnt have $1 tacos at all. Will Never waste my time with this damn place again, Im no fool and their advertising is totally FALSE. Whoever esmeralda is, she needs to do something about the dummies that work for her.

We had dinner last night, not very happy.It was 6:00 PM and I was told they were out of Iced Tea, come on 6 Oclock on a Saturday night and youre out of Ice Tea!Our server could"ve cared less, Poor planing. I ordered The Chimmy. It was served after my companion had gotten hers, about 10 min. It was dry and overcooked and the bottom was burned. There must have been a shortage of sour cream, barely a teaspoon, same with the guacamole. We felt rushed, they were not that busy, 5 tables were empty.Couples at the tables were being served separately, not at the same time. Whats with this?With thier success they seemed to have forgotten to pay attention to the details. We may or may not return. Will not recommend for now.

Really wanted to like this place but service was really really slow. Hostess / water girl was the most friendliest. She dropped off chips and salsa, she returned about 1/2-hr later and tried to give us our ticket before our food was served. Had the burrito bowl that was just okay. Husband had the camarones al mojo de ajo that arrived with cold rice and beans. Surprised that tortillas were not also offered. Restaurant was not even 1/2 full of customers. Waitress never returned to our table after taking our order. Hostess delivered our meal and after a long wait we had to go get our ticket to pay for meal. Awesome chips.

I ordered albondegas but its really just salt soup. No flavor at all. So they refunded half of it, which I was kinda eh about because I didnt eat any of it and still I had to pay $5.50 however they did offer me free tacos so I said sure. The tacos taste like pepper and nothing else. Their food is just salt and pepper. HOWEVER the waiters were super sweet and asked if there was anything they could do, and although I didnt like the tacos, it was nice of them to offer.

The burritos are k&f jobs ("knife and fork", i.e. HUGE), great quality food. Their service can be spotty, but they have a few really good servers there so if you get them on their good days, youre golden. The 1:30 dollar tacos are a great special and they accommodated my job when we ordered 60 tacos for pickup without any issues. Really nice atmosphere and setup, love the fish tanks!

Mediocre food. The chips were good but the salsa was bland. The enchilada sauce tasted like the tin can it came in. Terrible service. Thats the only reason Im posting. It wasnt that busy either. They actually brought my soup with the check, after I already ate my main course. I politely complained and was shrugged off by both the waiter and the waitress. You should try harder.

Super good Mexican food. The best part they deliver. Its hard to find good Mexican food in Humboldt butt this place has it. Once again they deliver which is crazy. Highly recommend... Ordered again delivered& super bomb! This family knows how to do it... Come to find out, Ive helped them at my work a while back & they are nice people. Good to know our community

This was one of the best places in Eureka. I have still had good food there, but will be using them for take-out only going forward. Something changed there roughly a year ago and the service is horrible. I dont say that lightly and I dislike giving negative reviews. Its like the new staff hasnt had any experience serving. I began to feel sorry for them.

We love Esmeraldas. The owners go out of there way to accommodate their customers. Love the food, love the service and love the new delivery. Now we can have more than Pizza delivered. Thank you very much Antonio, I appreciate all of your help and service. RF
