I discovered Korean BBQ in LA, so I decided to try out the best that Sacramento has to offer. While the experience was a little different, the concept remains the same. Oz has some great meat, good service, legendary ventilation, with slightly expensive prices. But if you dont go too often, this place is GOOD. Atmosphere: 4.5/5 -- I prefer a restaurant like this over any other KBBQ Ive been to before; Oz BBQ in Elk Grove has towering ceilings and wide open spaces...the exact opposite Im used to. Ventilation will NEVER be a problem here, trust me. -- Its a new building, and it shows. Really nice inside, got that EG money. -- Parking isnt a hassle, but it wasnt that packed when we came (Tuesday @ 7pm). -- The entrance is in the back, which kind of confusing. That or the exit is in the front. Its confusing. -- The ventilation is AMAZING. -- Its actually not all that loud in here. The horrible (sorry) K-Pop is not too loud, and you can actually hear your friends talk. Nice! Service: 4/5 -- The service here is really good, they check up on you a lot. They almost have to do this though because they give you food in really small portions, at least as opposed to Castle IIs meat platters of a pound each (they might have also done this because there were a lot of new KBBQs in our party). -- It was my friends birthday, and they sang him happy birthday. They gave him a cake, but it was plastic and just held the candle.....the feels. But they gave him a strawberry lemonade instead (it was honestly really good though). He spun their "birthday wheel" and won a can of sprite...yeah. -- One of my friends was sick and didnt eat. They actually didnt charge him! Was very surprised, as I know its against their rules. Nice. Food: 4.4/5 -- The meat was really high quality meat, which kind of validates the price by itself. Every meat we tried was high quality, thick and juicy, and delicious. You really cant go wrong! -- The salad they give you was decent, and you can choose from 3 appetizers. They were unnecessary though. We were very disappointed they didnt have dipping sauces or sesame oil at all, but since all the meat was marinated then maybe its not needed. -- One thing I disliked though was because of that lack of oil...the grill got charred really easily and a lot of meat stuck. -- The grill is actually SUSPICIOUSLY small. A group of 6 had one grill and it wasnt very big. Those guys in the middle had a lot of work to do (my arm is still sore). Price: 3.75/5 -- Prices are pretty high, dude. If you come during lunch hours, its cheaper by $4-5, but if you come any other time, youre talking $20+ per person. That adds up super easily. The meat is worth it though, just visit sparingly. -- I would like tier options like lots of other places have, where you can choose cheaper pricing packages with less meat options. TIPS: -- Come at lunch for cheaper prices. -- Because of the awesome ventilation, you dont need to worry about your entire body smelling like a summertime BBQ afterwards! Oz can rival a lot of places in LA, and it has the atmosphere that youd expect in a primarly white city like Elk Grove -- kind of a best of both worlds scenario. While the prices are a little steep, you get some great quality food. Elk Grove is moving on

First all you can eat cook yourself Korean restaurant Ive been to since moving back to California. The wait time for 2 when we arrived was 2 hours at 530pm on a Saturday and the place was packed. That was a good sign the place must be good and we did decide to wait. In reality we were called about our table in about an hour time frame. Price is good at $23.99 for dinner considering I was paying the same price in Alabama where things tend to be a lot cheaper. All the the dishes from the sides to the meat came out quickly. The spicy bulgogi was excellent as was every other marinated meat I tried. They have a few non marinated items as well in case thats what you want. The fire sauce dipping sauce is a must. We will be going back even if it is a bit of a drive for us.

Got here at 9 pm for my gfs birthday theres 6 or more table available and clean and they put as on a 20 to 30 minutes wait, because they said theres no table available and so we waited thinking wtf!! Then 10 minutes later while on wait they told us at 9:20 we can only order appetizers!! Now more wtf!!! And so i just said yes thats ok! The look on the asian manager and his hoe was disappointed i guess they want us to go away. But then we waited for another 10 minutes and walked away. This place and food isnt worth it. One time we have a party of 8 and got all you can eat bbq and only gave us two small plates of bbq meat and then we have to wait ten minutes to get a refill. Food sucks too, not authentic.

Service is a hit or miss here. Ive been here multiple times and its never consistent. Well get great service one day, horrible another day, or half service where we would need to search for our assigned waiter/waitress. In addition, if youre looking to come around dinner, be prepared to wait 30-45 mins. As for the food, they lacked selection. Theyll have your basic meats, but in comparison to Genjis, theyre no where close to benchmark. Overall, Ill only come here if needed.

The food was good, so I would good back again. The all-you-can-eat price is reasonable. The place is super busy. The wait time is long (generally 45 min to 1hr for a group of 6), which is actual a general problem with restaurants in Sacramento as a whole, not just Oz. However, they mixed up our orders a couple time and forgot about our dipping sauce due to the busy rush. Besides that, it was a great experience.

Never been or heard of a cook your own food type of restaurant but Im so glad I tried it. Cooking it myself allowed me to be creative with the ingredients they brought. You tell them what meats you want though. The grill in the middle of the table allows easy access for the whole team to get some of the action or a center stage to impress your fellow diners. Staff was a an A plus and the fire sauce was awesome.

A decent place to have all you can eat Korean bbq. They have all the basics such as: bulgogi spicy pork, beef ribs, chicken, and many others. They have a good selection of side dishes. The waitresses/waiters offer very good and friendly service, they are happy to bring out extra side dishes and meats. Expect to wait for 30+ minutes on weekend nights. Overall a good place to have all you can eat Korean bbq.

Service was horrible. This whole experience of oz is controlled by your waiter/waitress. My waitress waited more than 20 minutes to serve us yet paid very close attention to the adjoining table. I was asked what I wanted to drink well after appetizers were served. My waitress admittedly would appologize for the poor service yet it continued. Food was great but this is my last time at OZ.

I went about 30 minutes after they opened, and we had about a twenty minute wait. It was well worth the wait, the service is wonderful, and the food was fresh. We enjoyed the food, and had a great time cooking for ourselves. I like the Elk Grove location better than the Bradshaw location. Its quieter without the overhead fans to drown out your conversation. Ill be going back again.
