LIVE medium size ROACH on top of my nigiri (from sushi boat)!!! I would have taken a picture but was too skeeved out to do anything but show the worker, gather my belongings (and family) and exit quickly. A few things tipped me off that this place wasnt sanitary (the dirty dishes piled all around us that were never cleared, for starts), but I thought maybe I was being a snob and decided Id just deal because I was with family and about to catch a train home to SF. Look, Im not a yelp-er, I dont like those people ----BUT---a sushi restaurant is the LAST place I want to see a roach!! That is RAW fish youre serving to people (already risky) so how many roaches are in a kitchen if one makes it to a plate ON TOP of something that somebody is half a second from putting in their mouth? I feel compelled to say something. I feel relieved that it appeared on my second dish, and not after ten or twenty minutes into eating there.

Davis Sushi Buffet was a good spot to eat sushi. Recently, I would say about 5-6 months ago, the cleanliness has gone out the window. The stools are all ripped and dirty, the carpet smells and although the guys doing to serves is nice, he cant be expected to clean, take orders, greet guest all alone. The owners of Davis Sushi Buffet have good sushi but need to invest money in hiring another server, replace furniture and please clean! I use to bring my parents here but no longer, I would feel embarrassed to bring anyone here to eat. Unfortunately, I know Davis Sushi buffet will not change its path unless we all stop spending our money there. Please do not eat here, not only is it disgusting to eat sushi in a rancid smelling restaurant, but imagine the kitchen that we, the public, dont see. I cant imagine how dangerous, and a risk it is to eat sushi at Davis Sushi Buffet. DO NOT EAT HERE, BE WARNED!

Ive always come here for all you can eat sushi since the place opened up. The staff are very friendly and have a sense of urgency. The food is good and if you know what to order, then its definitely worth going to whether its for lunch or dinner. My family loves this place, and whenever we all come, they remember us and give us special attention which is nice to give that loyalty support business. Would definitely recommend to anyone to eat here if in the Davis area looking for sushi.

I would rate the food itself as 3 stars. There are certain rolls that were good but not a lot. I didnt have as much variety as I would like. Not many desserts. I didnt see any Korean ribs on the boat like pictures (at least for Thanksgiving lunch, which I paid dinner price for). I did try most of the rolls and nothing made me go nuts and want more of... 1 extra star is for the extremely friendly and attentive staff and being opened on Thanksgiving lunch to satisfy my craving.

First off it is a sushi buffet, so dont expect the FRESHEST and BEST quality fish ever. I mean you get what you pay for right. I enjoy the food there. Large selection. Quick to refill the table with more sushi rolls. Their selection of sashimi is good. Tempura shrimp and fried soft shell crab and oysters are delicious. But hands down my favorite dish is the Salmon Kama head. It is baked just right, little crispy on the edges but still juicy in the center. I want some now!

THIS RESTAURANT IS PROBABLY THE ONLY RESTAURANT IN CALIFORNIA THAT LET YOU EAT ANYTHING OFF THEIR MENU, SUSHI BOATS, & BUFFET FOR JUST 1 PRICE!!! Humble, fast speed, & friendly staff. Im just really impressed by their restaurants concept. Decent price. FRESH FOOD. Their battered fried soft shell crab & oysters with soysauce & lemon wedges to dip & squirt- "are heaven on earth." So crispy yet succulent. Ahhhhh, going to visit again, NOW! SKkrrrrr

Sushi and hot foods here is pretty damn good, especially for an all you can eat restaurant. Seems like a mom, pop and son operation so service time can be a little slow sometimes, albeit polite. Asides from a bar, there is a small hot foods buffet and a menu, where you can order food with the waiter (no additional cost). Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant, and I will be returning many times in the future!

The sushi is decent, cant say its great, but its not bad either. I went there when is was 107 degrees so maybe that made a difference in the sushi. But for the price you pay the quality of the fish is pretty good. They have a large variety of stuff that you can grab from the sushi boats or rolls made upon request.

Food was alright they didnt have much selections I like Fuji Sushi in Vacaville way better... more selection and their food is more fresh.the lady that works here @ Davis Sushi seems so rude when u ask a question she gives you that look and then she starts mumbling to herself like she talking Sh***T

So, we used to go here all the time because they do serve good all-you-can-eat sushi...but the last time we went we witnessed a cockroach running on one of the boats with the food on it....if thats out in front....imagine when is in the back!!! We will NEVER go back!!!!!

The food was very low quality and tasted like crap compared too the other sushi restaurant thats just around the block. The service was bad and we waited hours for an order since the buffet was horrible. Absolute bs.

Decided to try this place because it is close to work. If youre just looking for something that looks like sushi, and will fill your belly, this place is for you. Its all you can eat. Quality is lacking.

the sashimi and sushi is very good. My favorite rolls are Davis roll and Dragon roll. You can get what you want as long as you know how to ask. Ive been going here for the past 5 years.

This place was great! Usually it takes 15 - 20 min to get the food but here, it took 3-5 min. The only down side was that my dad almost fell off a wobbly chair.

Best salmon you can get at an AYCE restaurant. Great rolls always floating on boats. Donuts for dessert are awesome.
