Oh Harbor House... I love to love you. Especially at late-late-late night! Come to think of it, I dont think Ive ever eaten there at any other time except for night. Ive never been disappointed though. The crowd and vibe is always fun. They have a GINORMOUS selection of food. Food which you shouldnt be eating that late at night, but do so anyway. Word of advice: Some of their shakes are more surgary than others. Ive never been a huge fan of sugar, so if you arent, you might want to ask the waiter/waitress which shakes are... Or else, do what I do and split it with the company youre with. Believe me its PLENTY of shake. And if you order it with food, forget about it. You most likely wont finish it. My 5 star rating might be a bit skewed b/c Im not rating it based on the food itself, but for the fact that its open 24 hours and is an excellent alternative to the Jack in the Box in South San Clemente! I also am rating it with the crowd that comes it and the overall vibe going on late at night. Good times.... Good people.... Funny moments... Observation is a must to experience it all. Never know what youre in for.

I dont expect too much from a "classic American 24-hr diner.". Just give me something satisfying and reasonably priced and bring it to me quickly. But i guess in OC, where there really is no competition, you can pretty much throw these very minimal standards out the window--or, perhaps, into the obviously aged fryer oil that probably should have been changed yesterday. The onion rings we ordered with the "Harbor House Wrap" were bitter and flaky--and not in a good way--and a little too dark to be considered "fresh". The wrap itself was of a worthy size for the price, though it had little flavor and everything kept falling out because the ingredients were diced; it was kind of more like a chef salad burrito. I added salt and pepper and tapatio. We also had both italian dressing and bleu cheese dressing and nothing seemed to remedy the dryness. We traded the seemingly two-days-old onion rings for fries, which came back hot and fresh--and rather quickly--but also dark in color and bitter in taste, assuring me that my postponed oil replacement assessment was, in fact, accurate.

You know what...I learned how to surf at The Cove in Surfside. I had a late night prom dinner at Harbor House. I left a new jacket as a Christmas present for one of the managers there out of the kindness of my heart because she was going through a rough time (like we all do). And what do I get in return? Interrogation by the police in the area that I have been surfing in for my whole life and I get banned for LIFE from my favorite late night food joint. Im sorry Ladies and Gents, but I love Katin and it is SO not cool for me to not be able to go to Harbor House right now because Im hungry and I have way too much history there to be banned for life because a night manager has had a rough life. You know how many times Ive been knocking on Deaths door? Too many to count so dont try to one-up me because you will get burned. Im so disheartened by this ordeal that you have no idea. I guess Ill drive down the coast and find a Dennys.

Very poor service and POOR management. I have always enjoyed going to this café/restaurant until my experience last night. My husband ordered Calamari and tasted a few on his plate and said he didnt like it and so I tired and it was TERRABLE!. It was over cooked and the calamari did not taste like calamari. I told them nicely to take it back because we didnt like it and that it was poor quality food and the "supervisor" told our waitress that they wouldnt take the charge of the bill because we ate some of the food. They refused to remove the charge! instead they gave us a so called discount. I told them that I will not be coming back. Long story short...I think I get better service in MacDonalds than in this place. Shame on you

My husband and I ate here tonight for the first time, and were greatly impressed by both the food and the service. I ordered the bowl of chili, which is made with chunks of tender beef and served with generous portions of cheese and onions, and even comes with a side of toast! I had enough chili left over for tomorrows lunch. My husband was equally pleased with his bacon cheeseburger. We may have found our new favorite Dana Point restaurant!

Love it here. I scoff at anyone who would eat at the local Dennys when you have the 24 hour goodness of the harbor house! Always has someone in it no matter what time of day. I like the seat yourself casual environment, it good for any size group, and is consistent with the large portions and Yummy food! *I always have breakfast! - The menu is too large to try everything, but they definitely have something for everyone!

Huge menu, open 24 hours. Anything youre craving, you will find it on this menu. Breakfast foods. Burgers. Sandwiches. Burritos. Spaghetti. Stir-fry. Milkshakes! Its awesome. Came back from a concert and was starving at midnight, noticed this was open and so glad we stopped. Food was great. Service was great. Everyone can get what they want, so everyone is happy. Cant wait to go back.

If the food wasnt bad enough, eggs Bennie was compromised of over cooked eggs, burnt bacon crumbles atop a cheddar cheese melt of sorts accompanied by raw hash browns, the service really put it over the top. Our waitress was rude and unapologetic, even after I explained why I wouldnt take a bit of the food. Then the bill came. No one likes paying for what they didnt eat.

Service Here wasnt very good there was one woman, a waitress, trying her best but she was the only person running the entire place. I ordered a starter salad and it came with my meal and she said she forgot the avocado and brought it when I was done. my kids ordered pancakes and it was terrible fajita was equally terrible. And my wine came, I thought it was coke.

A classic diner with great food and no pretense. The wait staff have always been terrific for me. The menu goes on for miles, but, because of the crazy good patty melt, I havent explored more than a fraction of it. Everyone Ive dined here with, though, has a favorite, and there are lots of favorites. The old movie posters on the walls are fun, too.

This place is perfect for dining after leaving the many local bars in town. Late night brings the drinkers which can be enterainment or be annouying. The food and service has been inconsistant with menu diversity. Be carefully, menu & intoxication can make ordering very complicating; especially with bigger groups(5+).

It was nice to have a funky, fun and 24/7 place to go while on vacation. Its one of those places where the parents take the kids out after a game, teenager hang out with their cell phones ;) and couples meet up for breakfast, lunch or dinner all day/night long. Great place for burgers, shakes and breakfast.

This place was decent overall. We had 4 appetizers between two people at 44$ with one pop and one milkshake. Price seems fair. But the food wasnt as good as expected. Staff was friendly. No sexism in their uniform if people are looking for it. Also the milkshakes are basic like if you make it at home.
