Everything is just mediocre here, the service, food and atmosphere. Actually, its even kinda creepy in there. When there are no other customers in the restaurant I would have expected some sort of attentiveness. We were told multiple times, "Well be right with you, ok hun?", which is great if they were able to actually give us a menu or anything, in under 10 minutes of being there. After ordering appetizers (Mozzarella Sticks & Chicken Strips) , they were brought to the table in a reasonable amount of time but were barely tolerable. We had to force ourselves to eat more than a few bites! The Chicken Club Sandwich wasnt any better, left under the heat lamp too long maybe? Just dry and chewy. So we had to pay for a meal that we hardly touched and didnt enjoy. No effort was made to correct our obvious displeasure. I would never go back to Conrads. To jsj that is a couple reviews down: how could you say that Conrads is better than Dennys? At Dennys their food is consistently good and the service is ok even when they have a full house.

My wife & I will never go back to Conrads. We have been loyal patrons for over 7 years. We went for breakfast on New Years Day 2017 and were treated with such disrespect. While we were waiting for our breakfast a customer came into the restaurant with a Dog. Not a service dog, but a large German shepherd puppy on a leash. The customer & the dog sat in a table directly in front of us and I am allergic to dogs plus the dog smelled. I asked the server to please ask the customer to move to a different table since I was allergic to the dog and we hade already been seated & ordered. Not only did they refuse to speak to the customer but they could care less if it was making me have a reaction to the dog. Not to mention it ruined the experience for me and my wife and we " Up and Left". Apparently Conrads could care less. Living in Pasadena, we have many Restaraunt choices and Conrads will not be one of them ever again.

Regarding the homeless man incident, here is an eye witness account: A homeless man was badgering Conrads customers for spare change when one of the diners, an attorney, offered to pay for his meal. The owner prepared a meal and boxed it for him, but the attorney demanded that he be seated inside. When the other diners complained about his terrible smell, Conrads offered to serve him at the counter. At this point, the attorney, demanded that he be served at a table. Conrads owner then began to seat him at her table. She became indignant and said. "Not at my table! Put him at another table!" This woman is obnoxious. Anyway, the homeless man ended up eating at the counter. To those of you who believed all those crazy stories: Dont believe everything you read, and be careful with your indignation until youre sure of what youre talking about.

This is my favorite diner-style restaurant in the Pasadena area. Comfy seats, great service (I think they see me coming and brace for the 5 decaf refills!) and delicious food. I have always enjoyed a lovely meal here and been treated very kindly and respectfully by the staff. I didnt witness what happened with the homeless man (btw, I have volunteered with Union Station Homeless Services many times, before I am accused of being a hater of the homeless or something!) but I sincerely believe there was some sort of misunderstanding. If nothing else, this review will hopefully balance some of the ridiculous ones from people who are out of state, have never eaten here, and really can have no idea what actually happened.

I like it here, all the negative reviews are about a homeless guy being refused service, which was proved to be a false allegation, a simple google search would show that, but in the age of people getting their news from Facebook posts no one ever has to do any fact checking. But I also find it funny because since moving to California I find a general lack of compassion for the homeless, so the reactions on here surprise me because I doubt any of these people have volunteered or have done anything to help their fellow man, activism is always easier when its on the internet. Regardless of that, the food is good, and so is the service.

We went there for lunch and one of my friends wanted to order a kids meal for the smaller portion, willing to pay the adult price. We were told from the moment we asked until the time we left that they couldnt do it...thats fine, but what was most annoying is that there was no offer of resolution. We cant do this...but we can do that...And then when I asked them what they could do, they only offered to leave a menu, why Im not sure, but they considered that a resolution. I will not be going back...not because of the food, but the service, which has never been stellar, fell far below any level of acceptance today.

piece of crap place ..... not only that they did not serve a homeless man whose meal was paid for.. they try to excuse and deny it when i was there that day and seen everything take place,,,, i hope this place goes out of buisness and everyone should come together and make an issue of this.. people shouldnt be judged for there living situation all he wanted was french toast and it wasnt free!!! you were paid for it.. crummy service as well!

Its a great diner that allows you to get a regular meal late at night. I see homeless people alot in Pasadena and they really do smell and accosted people. How many of these people really deal with homeless people on a regular basis? They dont act like in the movies. Why didnt this lady invite this guy to sit at her booth with her family. People showed look at how far this lady sat from the counter where the homeless guy was sitting.

People will believe anything they read or hear. Even if they DID refuse to serve him in the restaurant, I would applaud that. Who wants to sit anywhere near someone who smells like a dumpster? Not very appetizing. I also dont want to sit next to one at our local discount theater. If someone really cares about homeless people, they will take them in, feed them, and give them a place to stay. Oh, you dont want to do that? I thought not.

I dont know what I was expecting, but it was pretty much what I imagined. The waiter was so nice and I felt sorry for him because we came in on a Tuesday with probably 10-12 people. The drinks (we ordered cocktails, why why why) were pretty much just water and some kind of syrup? If you want anything here, I think your safest bet is breakfast food. One person at our table ordered eggs and hashbrowns and they looked pretty normal.

Would never eat at a heartless place that would deny a homeless person a meal!!! And as for the heartless customer that doesnt want to eat next to a homeless person. Be careful God doesnt like ugly so if you are in bad situation I hope no one EVER helps you. What is this world coming to!!!!! Comrades I think it is time to close doors if all you care about is image and not humans !!!! Disgusting !!!!
