Worst restaurant experience in years avoid this place! This is the same place listed on Yelp at 1935 Galindo and 1985 Willow Pass Rd Came with a large group on a Saturday for lunch. Had reservations but didn’t need them as we were the only people there, that’s never a good sign. Before we came we called and asked about the Yelp deal advertised $25 for $40 credit and confirmed they were taking them so we bought one. On Arrival no one was there to greet us the place was empty we waited 5 minutes before someone came out of the back and seated us. There appeared to be only one waiter and one cook working, how odd. Got some chips and salsa which tasted like it came out of a can. They have no draft beer so had a Coors at a lofty $4.50 and overly sweet margaritas with cheap booze were $9.00. Food was way overpriced for Mexican food most entrées were $17 and up and they don’t even offer tacos or burritos. After we all ordered drinks and had been there for 45 minutes the waiter informs us that they would not honor the Yelp coupon, we argued to no avail even reminded him we spoke to him in the phone confirming they would. He had us call the owner who said the they don’t even have a Yelp deal and refused to accept them and was very rude about it when we explained the math to him there were 15 of us prepared to spend a lot of money on food and drinks he said he didn’t care and that we could just leave if we weren’t happy, what a stupid person. So we left, paid for drinks we didn’t even finish and went to La Tapatia 3 blocks away and had a fabulous lunch for half the price and were treated very nicely. That place was busy and had music and was a lot of fun. Never again would I step foot in Agave Grill.

This is in response to the first review of Agave. I find it quite absurd that this person would say that the security guards like to pick on Mexicans when half of the security guards themselves are Mexicans. The Agave establishment likes to provide a safe atmosphere for each of its clientale. If the security guards do happen to intervene between you and your fun it is probably because you are doing something that you are either not supposed to be doing or has the potential of becoming dangerous. This business like any other just wants to provide a safe and fun environment for all customers. Anytime I have gone to the club there has been a line of people along the building trying to get in, so I dont understand the "place is not happening" line. I have gone there on many occasions and have met people that said they would definately return every weekend so the cover charge could not be that outrageous. I have been to clubs all around the world including Saudi Arabia, Japan, Italy, Germany, Ireland, Mexico and plenty of cities in different states. I do not know what kind of clubs you have been to but this definately ranks up there among the safer/nicer clubs. The poor reputation remark is just you trying to get back at the owner for having a bad night, I mean cmon seriously this guy is an upstanding member of the community so I would not listen to that. This is all I care to comment on the establishment I hope to see you there one weekend having a great time.

Place looks beautiful on the outside but was deserted when we walked up. Parking was terrible. Interior was too warm, but the decor looked nice. Felt oddly unoccupied for a Friday night, then we met the manager and everything became clear. We had our service dog with us, and he refused service unless he saw ID. Tried to explain there is no such thing, but he just started talking over me. Left without tasting the food and with the manager still wanting to trade insults. Would not recommend, but to be very clear we didnt even get to taste the food. So. We didnt make it past the door. Dont bother bringing your service animal here because theyre both rude and invasive. I didnt read the reviews that said the food was overpriced and tasted bad, but I suppose I should have listened to that instead. Dont bother. Oh, another nice place just down the street, no issues at all.

Horrible service… the moment we walked in… a family member and myself both purchased Groupons for this place and the moment we walked in TOGETHER, whoever the "hostess" was immediately said we can not honor both Groupons nor sit you guys in tables next to each other and If you sit together we can only honor one Groupon. So they sat us at complete opposites of the empty restaurant. It took another 15 mins to get our drinks and then another to order our food. I should have read the reviews before purchasing the Groupon. I will never come back here. Not a friendly establishment at all. Also, the food was horrible.. The shrimp was rubbery and the salad I ordered was so spicy that I couldnt even eat either of the dishes. I would give zero stars but they wont allow that.

Purchased gift cards at costco. When paying for the below average meal, was informed by ray(mgr/owner) that they dont give credit for the unused amount of the gift card. He explained I should check my costco receipt, as it says this on the back of receipt, which of course is a lie. I offered to show him the costco receipt, which made him angry. He then loudly tells me that I didnt pay dollar for dollar for the gift card, so why should I get full value!? He then told me to go to costco and get my money back and to never come back to the restaurant! Dont worry ray, I wont. Thats what I call horrible customer service. Good luck with your business, I pity your employees.

Food wasnt that great .. Server didnt know what kind of wines the bar had. I had to come to the bar to see what kind of wines they have and to my surprise there were 7 kinds of wines and two of them were good wines but the server didnt know about them. Papas bravas are not the spanish style so I dont understand why they offer tapas when it will not get even close to papas bravas, good thing I didnt order paella. Just serve Mexican food .. Not the experience I was expecting.
