Came here after 14 years. Service was great, placed filled up quickly. My first point of concern was learning that a "fine dining" italian resyaurant only had two dishes with fesh pasta (the rest was pre made, most likely storebought). this is not an issue at some restaurants, but when you charge $20 per dish you expect something fresh. My French onion soup which i started with (which tasted great) was more bread with French onion soup. two large pieces of bread with maybe a cup of broth. Delicious but when you order a soup you expect to have more broth than bread; my scallops and risotto (main course) was a big disappointment. While the scallops were cooked to perfection, the risotto was so salty was inedible. I told our waitress who was very kind and told the chef, even offered a desert. However, for what is one of the most expensive dishes on the menu next to the fillet mignon you expect to have something edible (would have preferred to have no salt and I personally salt to taste). But sadly, i cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. aside from the scallops (which again were perfect), everything i had for dinner i could have made at home with fresher ingredients and less salt. Does this place have potential? Maybe. But first and foremost the dishes need to be tasted more frequently as they are being prepared. Too much salt is never a good thing no matter what you are cooking.

Sold us bad oysters and then argued and charged us for them. Refused to taste what we sent back. My poor friend at 3 at one time(my fault, I dared her), I only had one. Both of us were sick later. Could have been handled better. Stuff happens but if someone sends something like that back I would not have argued at a minimum. I would have been happy without the verbal disagreement made three times from the kitchen. It was hard to share the thought quietly and we tried. The push back from the kitchen through the waitress made it a bigger issue. Wont be back, which is to bad, there were some very good qualities about this place, fixing issues was not one of them.

today i went to sicilian cafe, for the last time. It was lunch. Two pathetically terrible servers. both looking scared. the woman, served a customer a beer, in a bottle. she poured the beer into a glass. she poured the whole thing, and the beer came up, out of the glass, and all over the floor. it takes forever to be asked for your order, and then a 20 minute wait for the soup. we asked for no cheese with our sandwich. the sandwich finally was served, after 35 minutes, covered in parmesan cheese. i have been to the sicilian cafe about 20 times and it is always an ordeal with the unprofessional wait staff. it ruins the experience for me.

We love this place. The building is very old and not fancy, but the tables are covered with white table cloths and the atmosphere is warm and charming. The Calamari is the best in the area, hands down...as well as the chicken piccata. Their prices are a little higher than similar places, but you get antipasta and soup or salad, not a la carte like other nice restaurants. The service can be slow when they are busy, but we find its worth the wait. Nice young chef owner that usually comes out to visit with you, which is fun.

The service was beyond bad, and each course took ages to come out, with way too much time in between. We ended up having to ask for our entrees to go when we had been there for an hour and a half without getting them. All that, and the food wasnt even very good, and was definitely overpriced. The steak was hard and chewy, and the pasta was storebought with a bland sauce. And the sizes arent enough to feed a bird.

The food and service at the Sicilian Cafe are second to none. It was a magical evening. I recommend The Sicilian for a great date, a family gathering, any type of special event or just a nice dinner anytime. We had a five course meal with a wonderful bottle of wine. The atmosphere was unique and very inviting. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the food was some of the best I have ever tasted.

Great food. Highly suggest trying the never failed Chicken Americana or any option of Marsala sauce. Best calamiri in chico hands down besides the people next to me that were complaining that they werent the ring calamairi. ( They dont know fresh crispy seafood.) Prices are a little negotiatable but great experience. Extremely recommended

It has been a few years since i was last here for dinner but the cafe has not changed much, maybe a little dirter.Food was good (not as good as i remember) but too expensive. If you are going to charge this much, put some money on making the cafe more attractive to the eye. Kind of a dump.

Ive always loved Sicilian Cafe since I was a kid, always order 2 of the cheese ravioli entrees. Theres this really cool server named Jeremy too, weve had him the last couple of times. Anyways, hes a really good server, along with all the other servers there, and the owner is a class act.

Great Italian food usually. A little pricey though. Last time I went my calamari was overly chewy, otherwise 5 stars.
