Great donut shop. Run by a family, I think that is why they are called "Family Donuts"? These babies are really fresh and Ive never had a bad one yet. I highly recommend the French crullers...and that word "cruller" does not even sound French, more like German. But I digress... On the corner of San Juan Ave and Fair Oaks Blvd, should you drop by on a certain Sunday in the fall, you get the perfect spot to watch the runners in the CIM (California International Marathon) strut by while you can be warm, hugging a cup of joe and biting into a round, sugary addictive dough ball. While running is not my scene, Im happy to cheer on those who can endure the pain - with donut in hand. Yet another addictive offering, their cream puffs are filled with custard and a sprinkling of powdered sugar. I dont remember how much they are, but I remember thinking, "Wow, for a mouthgasm, this is pretty reasonable." In general, I try not to buy donuts, even for things like department meetings at work. HOWEVER, I would make a huge exception for this place. Although their raised glazed arent rolled out freshly on a conveyor belt like Krispy Kremes, they run a close second. Minus a star for the lackluster coffee. Yes it is a donut shop, but hey, if Im indulging, I like a piping hot solid cup of coffee (read: not watery) to go with.

A Minnesota transplant, 6 years ago. who had the good fortune to find his new home around the corner from "Family Donuts". Kind of like the "Cheers" version of a donut/sandwich/coffee shop. Great donuts, fresh every morning, they really are baked while your a sleep. (get there around 4:30 AM for the really hot and juicy ones). Though, a half dozen of my buddies and I start showing up around 10:00 AM and the donuts are still mighty tasty. If you show up while we are there you can listen in on our sage view points on locale, national and world events. Oh ya, just about forgot about those sandwiches, jumbo sized and all made to order and mighty tasty also. Doug

Best donuts shop in Fair Oaks! Family Donuts is, as the name says, family owned and operated. They have a wide variety of donuts, including all the usual favorites. Their apple fritters are huge. They also make a peanut butter chocolate bar that is just amazing. I stop in several Sundays and pick up donut holes and creme puffs for my Sunday Bible study class. They have a nice area for sitting and visiting with friends, too. Great neighborhood shop. Highly recommended.

Me and my wife drive over ten miles just to get their AMAZING sandwiches! The tuna is heart stopping, the bread home made fresh baked pure flavor gold. The BLT is sent from heaven as a blessing to humanity. The older lady that owns the place is the nicest most warm and friendly business owner I have run into and always makes me feel very welcome, and always giving away food to us on the house. Worth a visit and worth coming back again and again.

I have been going to this donut shop for over 20 years and its by far the best in Sacramento. They have a great variety including many specialty donuts such as chocolate covered peanut butter bar, custard or jelly filled, or the chocolate chip roll. The donuts are always fresh. There is a lot of seating and I have seen a group of about 10 guys make this their morning hangout for years. I highly recommend this place!

Dang I found the doughnut spot!! Im pretty picky, so I was kind of nervous coming here, since Ive only had two places that are actually good, and many bad . I picked up a variety. Apple fritter, old fashion, and others. Wow. They know the art. The french is light and airy. The fritter was crispy,sweet moist and apple chunks buried all over. I ordered a basic, and even those were not skimped on .

This wonderful shop has added vegan donuts to their menu. It was amazing to be able to have all our old favorites veganized. Their donuts are so delicious. I plan to come back and try out their deli menu soon. Great people here, feels like home.

Best donuts. Period. We drive from Folsom to Family Donuts once every month or two. No other donut shop compares. Great variety. Always friendly. And the donuts are fresh, never greasy.
