My husband and I really wanted to like this place. The first time we went, we found burrs in our food. Burrs. The second time we went, we asked for no cheese on our salads- they came slathered with cheese. The third time- same thing. The manager seemed to think it wasnt a big deal and comped our salads, but didnt really seem to care whether or not we were coming back (we are not jerks- very polite and easy-going). The meatballs taste like ground beef and tomatoes- no real Italian flavor there. The salads at Olive Garden are better than the ones here (and we all know thats not saying much) and the lettuce is always wilting/rusted. The chicken tastes cheap and rubbery- very cafeteria-ish. Bottom line- the food is mediocre and the service in unreliable. Go to a real Italian restaurant instead. Plus, who needs portions this huge? Do we all want to die at the age of 50?

Service was good. The dessert we ordered wasnt available so he gave us one on the house. The tiramisu came in a big bowl and was really tasty. The portions are family style which means if there are two of you, you will have probably leftovers enough for another meal if you buy two regular portion dishes. The atmosphere is fun and family/big party oriented and kid friendly. Come with a bunch of people. You can find a table for two that is a bit more secluded but dont count on it. This is not a quiet, classy Italian restaurant. I will be returning again.

this restaurant exceeds our expectation. weve been to other bucas, but the Pruneyard gotta be the best of them all. Steve is my favorite manager. hell make sure customers got every attention to their satisfaction. thats a BIG plus. another good thing about this restaurant is, their employees are very hospitable and care about customers. of course the food they serve is also another good reason to return to this restaurant. oh, and the cherry on pie is their buca survey!

I lived in N.Y.C for 40 years and now here in the S.F. Bay area here for almost 15, and Ive got to say, this is the ONLY, California Italian Restaurant Ive been to that is the real thing. Weve been to the restaurant maybe 30-40 times over the years, and weve NEVER been disappointed. Real, old fashioned Italian, not pseudo-Italian, not neuvo-Italian. Feels almost like youre Puglias in NYC Little Italy.....and thats saying something!!!!

Wow, how far this chain has fallen. Our waitress provided adequate service, but the rest of the staff from the hostess to manager has a bad attitude and is uninterested in providing excellent service. Add to this increased prices across the board and you have an unmemorable visit. 1star for edible hot food, 1star for the 20% off coupon on the website. Let me add, the carpeted floors look gross, no 5 second rule here.

Overall the food and service here is fine. Not the greatest Italian youll ever eat, but Ive also never had a bad meal here. I consistently use this place for catering events for family and friends. With the gift card deal available at Costco, its very affordable for the quality you receive. The parking is a bit of a pain, and watch out for the speed bumps in this plaza, they arent painted properly and are hard to see.

Food was bland, and the pasta was so overcooked that is was inedible. The service staff were nice, but undertrained and hardly ever there. I ordered a bottle of wine shortly after we sat down. It took 45 mins for them to bring out a glass of wine. When I pointed out that I ordered the bottle it took another 20mins. They could have made so much more money of our party. Incredibly disorganized. Will never go back.

The hostess walks you through the kitchen before you sit down, a nice touch. Their best food is family style, comes in huge portions to divvy out. A group would be great, lets you try everything on the table. Food is tasty, cannelloni being my personal favourite. Service a little harried but attentive. This would be on my list of places to go for a special occasion in the San Jose area.

Service at this location was below par. We went on a Friday. Front desk staff looked disorganized. It also took them 20 minutes to assign a waitress after we got seated, and the food kept coming out of sequence. I like the Buca di Beppo in Oakridge mall and have been there at least 5 times (service was great every time).

Way way way too Expensive!! "Small" spagetti and shrimp for 3 was $21. Maybe a half gallon milk containers worth is Not much; Cook at home! Peroni draft 22 oz was $8.75!! Free bread is awful... Very slow night and Super slow service; Not fun. Wasnt my choice!

This used to be our favorite. We went there recently, the food has lost its flavor, poor service, lack of concern by manager and over priced. $25 for a bowl of spaghetti and meatballs, seriously!! Our bill was $82 for 2 dishes for 2 people.

This is a review just for take out. They did not seem to be very busy, but it took 45 minutes for a pepperoni pizza. My food was not hot and very greasy. I will gives this place another try though in the future, just not take out.

Enjoyed a night out with girlfriends. The waiter made a special treat for my friend celebrating her birthday. I love being served by mature waitstaff who understand food and wine. What a treat! Cant wait to go back.

Gotta love those family size portions for when you have big parties. At night they usually have a photographer roaming around to take pictures of your party, you get to choose to buy the pictures in b&w or color.

The decor is wonderfully odd. It is huge, delicious portions, and kid friendly place. We had yesterday - Spinach, tomato, walnuts, onion, and feta cheese with a warm balsamic vinaigrette. WOW ! !

Great service and good food. The photographer trying to take our group picture was a bit odd though, and it was weird having them try to sell us the photos.

I came here with a group of 8 people so its just comprehensible that they kind of serve the food in a gradual manner. Food was satisfying though.

This place was awesome! We had a party of 20 and they treated us like royalty. Ignore the "1s" on here, the food and service were outstanding.

Not bad for an Italian place. They tend to make things pretty strong however. Its an alright place but I wont go out of my way to come here.

I like this place, especially with a big party. The salads are yummy and they have great pasta dishes. My husband and I love the Rigatoni.

Always a great place for a large group. The staff does well with this. Food is delicious too, chicken saltimboca is the best.
