My, how the mighty have fallen. Ive been to Old Chicago a couple of times with friends and the friends of my wife. The pizza has always been fair to good, though the service has never been top notch. On Saturday 01/10, we decided on doing take-out from Old Chicago to treat ourselves. For four entrees (two adult, two child) and an appetizer, our bill came out to just over $50. All things considered, this is not a terrible price to pay for a family of four to eat some quality food. The only thing missing here was the quality. My wife and I both got Stromboli of different types. Right away when we got them, we knew something was up -- the entire bottom of both sandwiches was sopping, dripping wet with grease. It wasnt pleasant to bite in to, but we figured it would make up for it for us with flavor. We were dead wrong, actually. My dish, which was some kind of specialty with a lot of good ingredients, ended up being a bland, greasy mess. Ingredients like onions, peppers, and olives along with cheese, tomato sauce, and sausage should make for a very flavorful dish. What I got instead of was an overwhelmingly bland taste of unseasoned animal fat with a few soggy bites of what I found were the vegetables. The sauce was almost non-existent as to barely color the top of the inside red, never mind provide any flavor. I ate half of it and declared myself done. But hey, you cant screw up fries, right? So I dug in to those. The fries that we got had a nice jerk seasoning which would have been much nicer had it been distributed throughout the dish. What happened instead is that the fries were piled somewhere, the requisite amount of the premixed spice was dumped on the top then left where it fell. This resulted in a few fries that were overwhelmingly peppery and salty with the remnant being completely bland and flavorless. Fries should be tossed in seasoning, not have it dumped upon them unceremoniously after being cooked. What Im getting from this experience - given that the restaurant remains pretty full any time I see it - is that anyone who chooses to get takeout will be deemed second class. Food will be rushed and taste as if the busboy cooked it. This is the absolute last time I consider this restaurant. With two much more consistent and delicious options within very short walking distance (JJs and Blackwoods), this place really has no excuse to put out barely edible food given that it is the most expensive of the trio.

Im a regular at old Chicago its one of my fav. places to go.. tonight I had a horrible experience . Our waiter Caleb was very rude.. he went and told his manager Wendy a bold face lie.. For one it took a hour for our food to come out, he kept bringing the wrong drink out to my moms friend, and he forgot to put one of our orders in and when we mentioned it to him he shrugged his shoulders and said oh I forgot. He told his manager we were drunk which we wasnt and that he coudlnt serve us anymore. She comes out and says she have to have his back basically saying that we didnt matter. Not to mention when she brought the ticket back we only had 2 drinks each. Then she goes to say that we are not drunk and she still has to take his word . Im confused because I thought customers were always right. She didnt come to get our side of the story until after the fact.. He didnt bring me my correct change he was short 10 dollars. If Im so drunk how was I able to cautlate my change and advise him and her that I was missing 10 dollars?? I WILL NOT be back any time soon. I was very disappointed with her and him.. especially with her because she has seen me several times and she even mentioned it to me.. he didnt want to serve us to begin with, if he didnt he shouldve just got someone else to serve us and we wouldve been fine with that. Not to mention the table behind us stated that he was rude to them as well and was wondering what was going on. i be will calling corporate on him and her first thing Monday morning. It was my moms birthday and they couldve done better. I went next door to JJs and they provided us with the best customer service so our night wasnt ruined completely, and that is where I will be going from here on out. Im very disappointed with the service that we received tonight because Ive never had a problem with old Chicago until now.

The food at Old Chicago is wonderful, and this location didnt disappoint on the food. However, the service was bad. It took about ten minutes before our drink orders were taken, and our server went downhill from there. The food took an hour to get to us, and it came out a couple of plates at a time. The appetizer came out with the meal. The server when she actually came back to our table would leave to get our refills or other items and never return. Once she would return, she forgot what she was supposed to be getting for us. I got through my entire meal without getting a drink refill. The host actually came before we were leaving to refill the drinks. If it wasnt for the host coming to the rescue multiple times, I would have gotten up and left this restaurant.

I used to love going to Old Chicago and having a drink or two with my friends. It was a bit overpriced, especially if you didnt make it for Happy Hour, but whatever, the food was above average. Last week, I went with my girlfriend, got a meal and a couple drinks, the bill came out to around $25. I tipped to $32, a very generous tip on my bill. I was charged in my bank account for $42. Its just $10, but I was robbed by Old Chicago. I guess my waitress figured that if I had the money for a generous tip, I must be loaded and would not notice that she stole an extra $10 from me. I wont be returning for fear that this might happen again.

Ordered the buffalo hot wings, bone in. They assured me the wings were cooked to order. Instead I was served old wings that were luke warm at best. Sent them back, waited 20 minutes and they brought me wings from the same old batch that the first plate came from. These had to have been cooked 2 plus hours ago. Like I said, just luke warm at best. This restaurant seems like it would have some good food, but they ruin the experience because they are too lazy to cook food fresh. Was it really that much trouble for you to count out 9 wings and cook them, I mean really. They will never get my business again.

While the food at Old Chicago in Conway was good, we will not be return customers. After being seated we discussed a coupon we had brought with us and the waitress suggested we select from a new section of the menu. When the time to pay came, the manager came out to inform us that she would not honor the coupon as the menu we had selected from was a special menu. Seems like the management needs to communicate better with the staff. Side note...kudos to the waitress who apologized and requested that we not tip her to make up for the mistake. We tipped her of course.
