Jadore Le Rendezvous!! How fortunate we are to have found this gem in the desert. The dining rooms are charming, the service is without parallel and the cuisine surpasses all of the above. Dinner is a luxurious event here, so please plan to spend at least a couple of hours indulging the senses. (Of course, if you have more pressing matters, the staff will see that youre in and out in good time.) My husband had the Foie de Vignon (calves liver) last night and it was succulent perfection. I tend to have a bunch of hors doeuvres (OMG, do they do gooood hors doeuvres!!!) and a salad. Last night it was escargots, the Tres Champignons en Croute (three mushrooms in puff paste), and their special of the evening, a crab souffle ... Im still dreaming of the crab souffle. The salad I love was no longer on the menu, but our server, Monsieur Raymond, created one specially for me and it was superb. Last, but not least, was their exquisite Grand Marnier souffle for dessert. (The Four Seasons in NYC should take lessons from the chef at LRV for this delicacy.) We consider ourselves "foodies" and I cook for us 9 nights out of 10 and enjoy it. Le Rendezvous is an absolute pleasure which we thoroughly enjoy. For a milestone family event in early February 2012, we brought our daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren for a family celebration at LRV on a Friday night -- 10 people, including 2 highchairs, and we were there for hours. We were treated like royalty. As to practical matters, they have a good wine list, a full bar and plentiful parking. Dont miss this wonderful restaurant with its gracious hosts and talented chef. Messieurs Jean Claude, Gordon, Daniel et Raymond, je vous remercie tous du fond de mon coeur.

We went to restaurant for two special birthdays. Bernard, the "sommelier" or at least thats what he calls himself was as rude as ever. Why doesnt he just retire.Hes an old hack from the East Coast who pretends he knows wines. Their wine list is pitiful. He feels very put upon to wait on you. We waited over an hour for our dinner. They never asked us if would like some more wine. We ask the waitress about why our dinner was so delayed and the chef had the nerve to come out to our table and snarl at us. The waitress finally ask us if everything was okay as we were almost finished with our entree which has the same vegetables they had on the menu for years, Hey, every try anything new? Our chocolate souffles, which you are asked to order at the time they take your order, which is understandable were not ready when our dinner was completed which was well past the time of the souffle (they ask for 45 minutes to bake). Our dinner service was close to 90 minutes. We finally paid and left with no dessert as we were tired of waiting. There are now to many better restaurants than this tired old "French" restaurant that pretends to be everything French but is not. Dont waste your money or time.

We have come here for special nights out for over 30 years and it just keeps getting better! The new chief Gordon (the son of the original owner Jean Claude) has done an amazing job with the menu! We had a most extraordinary meal and we were absolutely delighted! We started with the escargot, which was just the right blend of garlic, butter and seasonings. Dip this in the beautiful fresh bread and go to heaven! We then had the Chateaubriand and it was not only prepared to a mouth watering perfection, but the sauce was absolute bliss! Just the right blend of tarragon and lavender. It was amazing and the crispy potatoes on the side made a lovely compliment. The scallops were prepared so that they were soft, caramelized on top and just amazing. My only complaint was that there were just four of them to the dish! We finished with a Crepes Suzette…just so light and a perfect ending. Not too heavy - again, just sublime. The wine menu was excellent and the service was wonderful. I havent found a better culinary artist in Tucson yet. This is really a wonderful dining experience! Thanks Gordon!

My wife and I paid a visit to Le Rendez-Vous today with high hopes after viewing the menu, online. We are very disappointed. My wife had the the scallops expecting something resembling Saint Jacques... Not so. Instead a couple scallops in a plate of poorly seasoned beans. I ordered Beef Stroganoff, or at least that was according to the menu. It resembled Stroganoff only in that there was beef, and a dab of sour cream. Having been a cook for some 70 years, and have eaten world wide, have out several cookbooks, representative in cooking contests, won awards local, State, national, and International, and have had some television experience, I do not claim to be the worlds greatest Chef, but certainly have a better knowledge of cooking than was demonstrated today. The initial service was good, but as the tables filled, there was considerable wait for our check. The noise was unbearable. Recommendation: Burger King

I am literally shaking right now from how livid I am with this restaurant. This was our first time here, walking in, it is an extremely formal atmosphere. We were the only people standing at the door, for 10 minutes not one member of the staff even looked at us, we were not greeted once, nothing. I expressed my feeling to the man who finally came to seat us, with a very level head under the circumstances. When we were finally seated, this man makes it a point to come over to me and whisper in my ear "next time, as a heads up, its best to not make a scene in front of the guests." you are kidding me right? We did not stay needless to say, we got up and left before even looking at a menu. I will not be returning. I am appalled.

9/6/13 - Went to Le Rendez-Vous for the first time for dinner tonight. There was a big grease stain on the menu, not a good start. The table wobbled because it was unbalanced. The waitress misquoted the price on the appetizer of the day, then didnt tell us even when she brought the ticket. I had the entree of the day which was swordfish. The waitress said it came with green beans and artichoke hearts. It actually came with artichoke hearts but no green beans. And the swordfish was overcooked, almost well done, ugh. A bunch of small blunders but they all add up. I dont think I would go back.

A month ago I had a very bad fall on the strangely sloping, slickly finished entryway. Fortunately, I didnt break any bones but I have been suffering from the severe bruising and tissue trauma that resulted ever since. Only the hostess and other customers expressed concern for me. I would warn anyone going here to be careful about the entryway surface. We did have a very good meal except that our mussels were borderline fresh....not unusual in Tucson but surprising here. The delicious sauces were the best part of our meal. Our table service was very good.

1/24/15 It was our sons birthday and he had found this restaurant to celebrate his 31st birthday dinner. It had excellent reviews so we were all excited to try it. The food and service was wonderful. I wish we had a restaurant like this in Ventura County, CA. Would recommend highly as a great restaurant. Hopefully when we return to Tucson to visit our son and daughter-in-law, we will get the chance to dine here again. Thanks Le Rendez-vous for the delicious food! The Cannings - Thousand Oaks, CA
