Mizuna does give the feel of a French dining experience. Some people may not like this because you are waiting around a bit in between courses, but seeing as how I was here with the boyfriend for an anniversary dinner, it was perfect. I mean, if you go to a chain restaurant, they tend to bring you your entree when youre only halfway done with your appetizer. You will not be rushed here, nor should you come starving because you will also need to be patient. From the time we sat down, to the time we left, it was just over 2 hours. Again, perfect for enjoying the company of someone for a special occasion. Now onto the food! The Lobster Macaroni & Cheese was rich and creamy with good size chunks of lobster. The Arugula & Frisee salad had a complex mixture of flavors. Between the chunks of bacon, semi-sweet granola topping, and baked Parmesan crisps on top, every bite was delightful. The medium rare Seared Lamb Loin was spectacular. Cooked perfectly with just the right accent of salty pistachios and twice cooked crunchy rice. The Seared Scallops came with an unexpected addition - some sort of small crab rolls. They looked like open ended spring rolls but with crab meat. Best surprise ever. Though we were not planning on getting dessert, we didnt feel stuffed like we sometimes can after a meal, so we got the Coffee Pot de Creme. It was a sort of butterscotch custard with a caramel topping plus the little spiced donuts that looked and tasted like brown sugar butter cookies. Very decadent. I spread the custard on the "donuts" and it was pure heaven.

While celebrating a birthday at Sushi Den recently we were seating next to gentleman who owned a local high end catering company... he recommended Mizuna. We dined for our 5th anniversary. Mizuna definitely lived up to its billing. Wonderful food, explosive flavors with excellent but not overdone combos, etc. The halibut I had was probably the best of my life. This is a spash out place, dinner with desert and 3 glasses of wine and tip it was $200. The service was excellent, quite intense, you dont make the waitstaff here on accident. Lots of superlatives in the descriptions, which turned out to be accurate. Apparently the Food Network filled Mizuna recently, which makes sense. The portions are smallish, but in order to enjoy each course, thats as it should be. The primary downside is the building is not any special. The bathrooms etc, are not marble clad/ country club standards if you care about such things. The location and views are nothing much at all, and the dining room is small and dark-ish. You get the feeling the took the $ they saved on rent and spent it on the food, which is a good thing. I definitely would never book a table outside on the somewhat grimey street. All in all, a real treat. Go for the food and dont hold back. Youll have a memory to savor for a long time.

The food was perfect. My wife is a foie gras fanatic. She says this was the best that she has ever had. Who would have thought that mac & cheese could be so good? The portion sizes were perfect. The timing of delivery was also. Everything arrived in good time - nothing hurried, nothing late. The lamb was the best I have had. All of the sauces and side dishes were perfectly balanced with the main course, although my wife thought that the dumplings that accompanied the lamb were a bit strong (cheese). They did not over power the lamb, but unlike everything else, they were definately not subtle. The service was great. The wine good. Total time: 2 hours. No rush. My wife wants to move to Denver so that we can eat at Mizunas more often. This was our first experience at Mizunas & we chose it for our 30th anniversary dinner. So glad we did.

I have not had dinner with my husband (alone) in about 3 years. We have 4 small children and we have only recently decided to have a sitter from time to time. Needless to say, the selection process was difficult because we knew what we wanted. Over the last several years we have lived in Indaianpolis, Tampa, Sarasota and Houston and finding fine dining has proven to be a challenge. I found Mizuna based on internet research alone. Our dinner was exceptional. The wine selection was outstanding. The service was flawless. It offered all that we were looking for....outstanding food and service. I wanted a small restaurant where I could see the kitchen with a changing menu. Mizuna met all of my expectations. I was thrilled with the meal. This is a perfect romantic restaurant with wonderful food.

If I could give mizuna 10 stars I would!! This restaurant is definitely one of the best places Ive ever eaten at! My boyfriend and I came here on a date and was very impressed on the service, food, drinks, and the atmosphere. As we were looking at the menu I noticed that the majority of it contained shellfish, which I am highly allergic to, we told our server and he was very willing to work with us and showed me different options I could eat. I ended up having the veal tenderloin, which I have never tried before and it was amazing!! The staff at mizuna were very busy but never neglected to fill empty water glasses or clear dishes from the table. Everyone there was very polite and professional. We loved our experience at mizuna and we will definitely be returning!!

Best restaurant experience in Denver so far. My girlfriend and I went here for our anniversary and were treated with the upmost respect and courtesy. The knowledge and etiquette of the staff went way above and beyond our expectations and we felt very comfortable during the entire experience. The food was five star, with very impressive seafood, for anywhere, not just this beautifully landlocked state. My girlfriend and I plan on returning to Mizuna to enjoy the seafood again as well as experiment with some new dishes while bringing friends and family to enjoy this fantastic establishment and all it has to offer. Couldnt say more, A+ and five stars.

First time I have ever been here and I am actually a bit dissapointed. The food was awesome, but the service was horrible. We sat next to a couple that was getting menu explained with specials and good service , yet we couldnt even get the service they were getting and we were sitting right next to them. I guess you have to look a certain way to get amazing service. If we were there it was because we had the money to pay. Dont judge a book by its cover, you never know who is walking into your restaurant. Never will I go there again. I hope no one else has to deal with that.
