I do not understand the negative reviews from this place whatsoever. I have grown up in large cosmopolitan cities from Detroit, MI to Phoenix, AZ to San Diego, CA. I have visited New York and I have visited several countries in Europe so I feel I have a fairly good grasp on what authentic French bistro food should taste like. And... this is it. Listen up Colorado Springs - this is probably one of the best food values in town. You can get Steak Diane for less than $20. You can get an omelette, unlike anywhere else in town, stuffed with fresh French herbs... for less than $8. The quality of this food is amazing. My wife, our business partner and I have eaten at this location (Chestnut Street) twice now. Last time I ordered a Croissant deli sandwich - perfectly made, high quality ham and cheese and mustard and not one of the usual American monstrosities piled high with meat and cheese. (And yes, this is one reason the French can eat rich food and stay thin - they dont gorge like Americans do.) I also had the French Onion Soup - EXCELLENT! Our business partner had a breakfast sandwich on a homemade croissant. My wife had quiche. Not a single thing was not absolutely excellent. I consider this to be a hidden gem and one of the best food values in town. Do yourself a favor - try the French Onion soup, the delicious quiches and custards, an omelette... its hard to go wrong. Consider myself a bit of a foodie and a world traveler - Colorado Springs is lucky to have a place like this instead of the usual chain restaurant experience. Do you want fresh, high quality food lovingly prepared or do you really want another bland meal out at a chain restaurant? Bottom line: I cant recommend this place enough. Check it out.

I went there three times this week, haha. I love this place - great service and fantastic food. I have a garlic allergy and if I am lucky enough to be able to order 1 or 2 items off a giant menu of food usually. They told me I could pretty much order anything. A whole menu! With anything I want! The cook makes everything to order except some of their pre-made stuff, but so far - no problems! They didnt even act like it was a big deal at all when I told them - most staff at other restaurants just look at me with horror when I tell them. And seriously, the FOOD! Tasty, quality, REAL food! That doesnt require me to use my epiPen! Plus - the prices are well ranged I think, Ive eaten $6.50 bowls of soup with bread, or 8.95 omlets or sandwiches - they have $15 and $17 plates for really nice dishes Im sure too.

I came in and placed a to go order for a party of 5. They asked if next time we could call ahead. I let them know we understood that but did not mind waiting and were not in a hurry to go back to work. It did not take that long for the food to be brought out to us but what made me upset is two other workers let me know that we should have called ahead and they were busy. They way their tone was I felt scolded for placing my to go order in the restaurant. I left the restaurant felling unappriciated for our $70 order and walked out of there upset. From now on Im going to the La Baguette downtown or on the west side. Oh PS: Their French Onion soup is way too cheesy and salty compared to the other La Baguettes in town.

I went friday mid afternoon with 4 other people and we were greeted and seated fairly quickly, they came and took our order pretty quickly too, but it took FOREVER for us to get our food, and when they did bring it out parts of certain orders were missing ( a friend had ordered half a sandwich and some soup and when they brought it out her order was missing the soup).. the waitress came to our table and asked " 5 different tickets??" and then gave us attitude for paying separately and proceeded to YELL at the hostess to swipe our cards, in a restaurant full of people. we were seated by the front, and they were at the register all the way in the back. Never again will I visit this location.

Wow. I was on a walk when I tripped across this gem. This is the perfect, quaint and an elegant restaurant. The food is amazing. The place is very clean. It has a flair and a nice European ambiance. The chef is about the restaurant meeting guests. His cooking talent is exceptional. James I was here again on May 23rd 2017 due to my cravings for this place. It is very satisfying ! It is a lovely French spot I think. I conversed with the table of two ladies next to me....Nancy and Sharon. They were delightful. It is always nice to meet good people and laugh with them. They were from Broadmoor near by. Today, I had Salmon buer blanc with Israeli couscous ...the best. James

This is my go-to restaurant in COS. It is consistently excellent food and service. Dont go if you are in a hurry, the atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable like a French restaurant should be. ***Some reviewers thought the service wasnt good, but I feel that may be due to the fact that the food cannot be rushed. Its not a typical American Diner where food is fast and people rush through a meal to get back on their phones, etc. Its a completely different experience. The Croque Moisseur is an amazing meal, and for a sandwich and soup I recommend the Chicken Salad with fresh tarragon on croissant with the cold Gazpacho soup. Great people serving great food!

Amazing French food. The chef always comes out to see if you enjoyed your meal and so far every meal Ive had here has been nothing short of incredible. The French onion soup is to die for and has been great every single visit. Last time I got basically a French dip sandwich(forget name) and my girlfriend got one with ham and eggs on it. Both were beyond amazing. These things were so good we were still thinking about the next day, probably some of the best sandwiches Ive had in my entire life. I really need to go back again.

This is a nice little French restaurant that has been here for years. As far as I know, they have the best French Onion soup in town - its amazing! I usually come for lunch, so have really only tried their sandwiches, and have never been disappointed. Their pastries are delicious, but limited supply, so they are often sold out by lunch time. On nice days, it can be hard to get a table.

They have the best creme brulee (orange flavor) my grandpa has been coming to this place for years, he always grabs the chef whenever he visits. The chef is more than kind and remembers customers who only visit once a year! Highly recommend the steak frites but it seems that everything here is delicious. Talk to the chef next time you stop in, you wont be disappointed.

The food is very good, the atmosphere is cozy and quiet. The service unfortunately is quite quite poor. The owner got very indigent when I walked up front to inquire on the status of my meal, as my wife had already finished eating. I have been there four times and always the same story. Not likely to return, except the corn beef hash is the best.
