Woow! Im so happy this restaurant is in Tucson. I love Chinese food since I have my Chinese girlfriend in Seattle where are a lot of Chinese people and of course good Chinese food. When I first came to tucson I was a little sad because I thought I wont have good Chinese food anymore like in Seattle with my sweet girlfriend . I found this restaurant got the best reviews on yelp and I said let me give it a try. It blew my mind. Even my girlfriend when she visited me I brought her here and she loved it. It is not the best Chinese restaurant I have been to(because I have in too many) but it is definitely one of the top five. My girlfriend misses it so much now! This restaurant is cheap but not in the the prices that are on the menu it is cheap because the amount of food they give is big and I always cant finish it and pack at least one meal. Most of the dishes here are spicy because Szechwan is a part of china where there are lots of spicy food . So you can say it is what China Szechwan specialized at. (Spicy Chinese food.) However there are some dishes that are not spicy . Like shrimp fried rice. Wooooooooow ! It is the best friend rice I have ever had ! Read! U should go to China Szechwan only to try *Shrimp fried rice*

this place is not what it used to be, both quality of food and service. The other day I ordered a single dish take out, and told them the time I would arrive. I got there on time, the front desk asked me to stand there waiting while he sorted dimmer and pennies. Finally hes done, and asked me my phone number. As if what wrote on their order note was not enough, he actually opened the cover of the Styrofoam bowl to check what I ordered, using his bare hands, although I told him what I ordered. He then placed a surcharge of almost 10% of the price of the disk because I tried to use a credit card instead of cash. I was OK with that, since I know I only ordered one dish, although they did not list it on their menu. He they asked me to pay tip, although it was a take out order, and he made me waited for about 5 minutes although there were no one else in the line before he even serviced me. I know this was all because I only ordered on dish, and its a takeout order. The dish itself was awful - not fully cooked, and they forgot to add salt to it. To be honest, it tastes even worse than the worst Ive had before for that dish. I will never go there again.

I came in at about 8:50 pm to dine in. The restaurant closes at 9:30pm. I felt as if I was rushed to get out. I caught one of the women working there just staring and glaring. Customers shouldnt be made to feel unwelcome. Its not as if I came in 10 minutes before closing. I was still eating and the girl was rushing to box my other food. The food was okay. Much better than the 2 other Chinese restaurants Ive tried in the past couple of months. The plain fried rice lacked flavor, however, it was a good texture and not too greasy. The sweet and sour chicken I received had been lightly sauced so there were pieces without any sauce at all (which was preferable to me as I hate my chicken drenched). The breading on the chicken has a slight sweet flavor to it. It almost reminded me of pancakes or waffles. It was good but overly breaded in my opinion. The bell peppers were dry. The chile paste was quite awful. It was black in color and lacked flavor. However, it did add a hot kick. Overall, Tucson is a terrible place for oriental cuisine. Its very difficult to find a good restaurant that is comparable to the ones on the East Coast.

One of the few restaurants thats still opened on Thanksgiving, who knew Ill be ending up eating Chinese food in Tucson when theres a bunch of it in LA! China Szechwan is a place thats ideal to have food served family style so everyone can have a taste of everything. Dont let the chili peppers and the chili oil in the food deceive you! The food are often times not as spicy as it looks. However, its definitely an acquired taste. We tried four dishes. The water-boiled fish had just right the good amount kick to it that it went really well with bowls and bowls of rice. The vegetables buried under the fish was welcoming. On the flip side, the garlic spinach dish was a tad on the small size compared to the portions of the other dishes. The deep fried chicken wings with chile peppers came out pipping hot and had a great crunch to it with every bite. The stir fried pork strips were a tad bit too spicy for my taste. Friendly service and plenty of parking up front. Its definitely a good place to go to if you feel like spicy Szechwan food in Tucson.

As most of you know, finding a good Chinese restaurant in Tucson is very challenging... Luckily I stumbled across this place a couple of years ago. Its hidden away in a strip mall and the interior is far from flashy. However... The food is absolutely incredible. The Szechwan menu is a fantastic addition available aside from their Americanized menu. They make fried rice the right way. Food always comes out hot and fresh, portions are generous and there are so many choices. I recommend any of their water boiled dishes from the Szechwan menu, mongolian beef, general tsos chicken (classic dish - done right) and my girlfriends favorite moo goo gai pan. I drive almost 30 minutes to either dine in or take out. If you havent checked this place out yet and you are a Chinese fanatic like myself, definitely make your way into this family owned establishment.

All my Chinese friends say this is the most authentic Chinese food in all of Tucson (if not the USA). The service is great: friendly, helpful, and rather prompt. Our servers were (at least) bilingual. I especially recommend the spicy beef soup (水煮牛肉, on the Szechwan menu). Its very spicy, typical of Szechwan cuisine, but it contains the Szechwan peppercorns that numb the mouth slightly, so its bearable! Ive had few things as spicy as that that I could actually really enjoy. Its awesome quality, and a real bargain. They use quality ingredients that are hard to find otherwise, so its definitely a real treat—something that would be hard to make at home without specialty ingredients.

Excellent for the adventurous. Ive had 6 different dishes so far and they were all well worth the money: Ranging from a pretty good meal to outstanding. You should try their Szechwan menu items - if you are curious about food and are okay with medium to high heat, you are in for a treat. Even if you want the more predictable fare, their dishes are good by any standard (and more than excellent compared to other Chinese restaurants in Tucson). About service - Ive had slow service only once, but probably because I was a bit late in the lunch rush. They get a lot of people (a good sign, but it slows them down) so try to be a bit ahead of the crowd if you mind waiting.
