Came in for brunch. Took 5mins of waiting before a hostess even acknowledged that anyone was at the hostess stand. Ordered the queso fundido appetizer and huevos rancheros-eggs over medium. Waited close to 25 minutes for the appetizer and less than 5 minuets later my food arrived. Both the queso and my food were cold on top. I got less than half way through 1 egg and had to pull the waitress over the eggs were barely cooked past sunny side up- nowhere near being over medium. I had it remade, but to go this time since I had other errands to run. When I was brought the check I noticed the waitress had put the eggs in as over easy. A wrong order, slow service, and cold food, I dont think I will be back.

The worst food we have eaten in a restaurant. We had a Machaca and Enchilada Trio. The beef in the Machaca looked like it was a week old and tasted like it- dry, overcooked and tasteless. I have had better tasting beans out of a can. The rice was passable. The soft corn tortilla was leather-like and tasteless. The beef enchilada had a sauce that tasted chalky and tart-terrible. The beef must have been the same beef in the Machaca. The chicken and cheese enchildas tasted terrible- like supermarket frozen fare. When we first sat down my wife went to the bathroom and while she was there the waitress pestered me twice asking if I was ready to order. Learn how to do your job.

I come here multiple times a month. Its such a relaxed environment, and you get awesome service. I usually get my entree from the appetizers section. Portions are big. Margarita Mondays are awesome too. Their house margaritas are all 1.99 all day on Mondays. Other margaritas are good, but they are normal price, unless you go during their happy hour which is 2 dollars off both margaritas and apps :) Their carne asada is to die for and so is their guacamole fresco. I recommend this place for anybody looking for a Mexican styled restaurant that actually tastes like Mexican food.

EDIT: Have been here may times since the last review and the service has vastly improved and the food remains incredible. I guess we had a unique experience the first time we tried this restaurant, but the service has definitely improved! ORIGINAL: Took a date here and although we were the only 2 people in the restaurant, we had to all but flag down the service. The food, however, was something we both agreed was incredible. The slow, unenthusiastic service is the only reason this is not a 5 star review.

The food was bland. I had the carnitas plate and specifically asked to have the jalapenos removed. Well the meat came dry, no salt so tasteless and spicy. My wifes chilaquiles plate was so spicy and tasteless she left 70% of it untouched. I love Mexican food but this is the worst tasting mexi place Ive eaten. They also dont serve Horchata, probably should have been a good indication of the what to expect from the food. The ambiance and service were good, get rid of the cook though.

AZ native so I know good Mexican food. Extremely disappointed. Greasy food. Half cooked vegetables in fajita. Kids menu mac n cheese was a joke. Past from a box and it wasnt cooked. This place charges $1.50 for chips refill. Are you kidding me. I dont see this place doing to well down the line, soo many other better places to enjoy fully cooked food.

I have Always loved this place. So happy to be back in the area and stopped by for the red Chile con carne. It is my favorite in town and I highly suggest it to anyone looking for great food with totally reasonable prices. Friendly staff, prompt attention, great Margarita, and on and on. I highly recommend this place!

Quite casual. No big hurry to get you in and out. $3 house margaritas on Mondays. Service is sincere. Food is generally non spicy and delicious. However, this time I ordered a Chimi and it was basically a deep fried burrito with no lettuce or sauce. However, its worthwhile trying another one sometime on a Monday

My first time to this location since they moved from North Tempe further south, the food is still just as good and I regret not getting here sooner. We went on a weekday afternoon/evening and while the restaurant had a few packed tables, service was prompt and everyone I was with enjoyed their meals.

Great everything and not because my sister works there! If I could change one thing though, itd be the size of the diced vegatibals. Maybe its just me but they look a little too big and Im not really a fan of biting into chunks of onion one bite and chunks of tomato or bell pepper the next.

The service was very nice, and the food was yummy. The main thing I didnt like was how greasy many things were. My chips were grenadier than most places serve, and my tortillas were greasy. Slightly pricy, but ok. If youre counting calories, be careful here!

They could be GREAT BUT... We went for cocktails & an appetizer. We had nachos which were a LARGE PORTION and they were good. Margarita Sunset was "ok" at best. And beer. (Bud Light was on tap- its hard to mess that up!) I will visit again and try a meal.

I dont usually leave 1 start reviews,. But this place was not good. The shrimp was super tiny and chewy. The fried ice cream was bland and the strawberries they put on it were not fresh and the ice cream was sitting in a pool of thawed strawberry water.

We had the WORST experience ever this past Wednesday at La Fonda and its too bad because the drinks and food were pretty good. We had been there before but will NOT be going back! Customer service is awful by the bartender and the manager that was working!

Definitely my favorite Mexican restaurant. Great chips & salsa for appetizers, fantastic flavors across the menu. Every time I go Im surprised at the variety and power of the food! Try the Trio Enchiladas, its a lot of food and very worth it!

Just had lunch here yesterday. Good basic Mexican food, yummy fresh guacamole. Kind of loud, dont go for conversation with a new friend. Nice employees, the manager (owner?) was very attentive and seem to recognize several patrons.

Great staff. Very friendly. We got a variety of items and overall Id say that the meats and items were quite good but the sauces were overwhelming in flavor. Not spicy, just so strong that they overwhelmed the flavor of the dish.

Excellent food, mellow staff, great atmosphere. Family run place, big family area and small bar area, about 6 tables.. I come here fairly often, have tried a lot of the food, it was all good. Cant beat $3 Dos Equis, either.

Been several times, service isnt usually the fastest once seated but not bad enough to leave. The salsa is of the chunky variety vs blended. The enchiladas are delicious and the carne asada is sweeter than most places.

Place was your standard microwave Mexican food. After the first (and only time) we went here, it was enough for us to never come back. Food was edible and over priced, and service was nothing to be excited about.

Food was delicious, they brought the food out fast and also they always refilled our drinks withoit having to ask they have great service. I think that was great. Very happy with the overall experience.
