To this day, La Bocca on Mill Avenue is one of my favorite pizzerias not only in Tempe but in all of Arizona and perhaps one of my all time favorites. Every time I take a bite from their margarita pizza, I fall in love all over again. The service is friendly and fast, though they can understandably do nothing against the dinner crowd and wait times can be long. The building is casual and has a very "oldie" vibe while keeping a fancy standard. Their salads are alright, but their main attractive, their pizzas, are, no doubt, the best. I look forward to any opportunity I can get to go back to this place.

I immediately found a long blond hair on my Tiramasu when served. I handed it to the waitress and she said shed tell the manager. A long wait later, he came with another serving telling me he didnt see the hair but I can have this replacement anyhow. I told him it was blond if that helps him figure out who needs to wear a hair net in the back. He said thats more suspicious. Of course, I couldnt eat it then. I just let left it alone on the table and waited for my friends to finish so we could go.

Atmosphere was hip and cool. Food was decent... slightly above average. Service sucked. We were told that our reservation would be late by 15-minutes, our server seemed in a massive rush at all times (he barely stood at the table when he asked us any questions, just rushed off while we were talking), food took forever to get out, and had to ask for several things he forgot several times. Skip this place... there are better "hip pizza restaurants" in town that will also give you good service.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend and we really enjoyed it. Its on Mill Ave. so you can sit outside on the patio and have fun watching the goings on up and down Mill. We had the Bruschetta as an appetizer and it was really good. For dinner, I had the smoked prosciutto alfredo and it was delicious! It came with a small dinner salad and that cost around $14. Service was great as well. We will definitely go back, fun little spot and great atmosphere!

Bad service! Im a vegetarian and they brought me spaghetti with meat sauce on it even though I asked beforehand what was on the food. Had to wait for the new food and got it right around the time my date finished his food, just what everyone wants to do on a date right? Such a shame considering the food was good, when it was ordered correctly, but the service ruined the experience for me. Wont return in the future.

Nice atmosphere and delicious Italian food. Fellow yelper Dorothy C. Brought me here during my Arizona trip. We shared a bruschetta plank as an appetizer (loved the prosciutto+fig, ricotta+honey, and fresh mozzarella+basil) and also the truffled mushroom pizza. Our waitress recommended the house made special blackberry lemon cello which was unnecessarily strong and disappointing in terms of flavor.

The quality of ingredients, portion sizes, and price for the entire experience cannot be matched! The service staff is extremely courteous and if you sit at the bar top, Michael is a great person to keep you company while you dine! Highly recommend getting the calzone, theyre like back east! The bruschetta planks are incredible too! Great place for corporate lunches and happy hours!

I went to ASU in the 90s and wish this place had been there! Visiting recently I popped in after seeing great reviews. Absolutely deserved. Great wine prices, bruschetta planks are to die for. Id recommend getting double of the fig/prosciutto. Brussel sprout pizza was great, too. Happy hour prices are fantastic. Run, dont walk. It will be one of my stops every time I visit AZ now.

For what it is and where it is located its about the best place to grab a reasonably priced bite to eat. The pizzas are wonderful. Sometimes less is more, and they use just enough ingredients in the right amounts to deliver the flavor of all the toppings. Not much else to say other than when I find myself on Mill Ave. I always make sure to eat at LaBoca.

“Classic Burgers at their Best” We have been going to Chuckbox since I moved the the Phoenix area in 1984. I love, and I mean LOVE, hamburgers and after eating at most of the "best" burger joints in Phoenix this is still my best. There hamburgers are fresh ground beef patties cooked over a mesquite lump charcoal fire. You pick your burger size, your bun..

Stopped in for our first visit on our anniversary. The service, atmosphere, food, and drinks were excellent. We enjoyed some delicious bruschetta, pizza, pasta and a cookie dessert. The server was very friendly, let us sample some of the items, and gave us some advice on where to go and what to do in Tempe. Looking forward to our next trip.

My husband brought me here for my bday. It doesnt look like much on the outside, but the indoor courtyard has the most romantic ambience of any restaurant Ive been to. From the greenery to the candle lit lanterns throughout you cant go wrong! Of course the food was phenomenal too. Small tasty portions of excellent cuisine.

Pizza, pasta, salads, they are all good. Indoors or out, lunch, dinner or just happy hour with friends, you cant go wrong at La Bocca. Just hanging out for a bit? Try some Sangria with a cheese plate.. Great menu, some really good wines and a very nice atmosphere. One of the best places on Mill Ave, for sure.

La Boca is a nice change of pace from other restaurants on Mill avenue. They have a nice ambience and overall feel. Price point is fair and most items are well portioned. Staff has always been friendly, and in particular we love Jackie. Definitely have to check it out if youve never been.

Maybe we caught them on a busy night or something - took almost 10 minutes after we had been seated for a server to even come up and take a drink order. Pizza tasted great, but was drenched in oil on top and on bottom - to the point that my hands were covered in oil. Ill try going again.

We liked this place so much, we had to go back before we left town. Excellent pizza; we had the spicy pepperoni, a pie with serrano pepper slices and pepperoni. Awesome. The Med Plate is excellent as well and perfect for a late night snack and a beer. My wife liked the sangria.

Very helpful friendly managers and waiters. Great happy hour deals. I have to come here when I can hang out longer. Great place to people watch either through the huge windows or on the patio. My beet salad was beautiful, with thick heirloom tomato slices at the base.

A favorite of mine, especially when it comes to Tempe and the Mill Ave. Area. Food is always great, I highly recommend the bruschetta. Ive come here for everything from business meetings, to dates, to night on the town pregames and the atmosphere works every time.
