I dig this place. The location is prime. In the middle of downtown, you get that urban experience that so many Salt Lake restaurants wish they can have. Large patio to hang out on, and the inside decor rocks. Its chill, laid back, and spacious. On top of that, the prices are right. If youre a drinker, cocktails are between 3 and 6 dollars. Most entrees are less than 15, appetizers are between 8 and 12. But at the end of the day, if the food sucks, the prices and location dont matter. But luckily, the food here is awesome. I cant speak for the entire menu, but we went here for brunch. The wife had the sweet hash, and I had the curry hash. The curry has was very good, but the sweet hash was simply superb. Yes, I said SIMPLY SUPERB. Deal with it, Im pretentious. The crowd seems to be in the 22 to 35 demographic and super hip. Men with groomed beards and women wearing beanies in the summer time. I wont hold it against anyone for trying to be fashionable. I HIGHLY recommend this joint, especially if youre going to Maxwells...just come here instead. Side note to owners: Dont let your employees smoke on the patio outside by your patrons where we are eating. Sure, the patio is a smoking section, but I feel like the employees should exhibit a little more professionalism and not smoke in front of the customers...maybe Im a prude...Im not just a prude...Im a freaking virgin man.

Went to dinner here for my bachelorette party and it was a disaster. My friend called and made the reservation about 2/3 weeks ahead of time. We get there and get sat at our table for 15. After not being greeted by a waiter for a little while my friend goes and talks to the bartender who says they are short staffed and wont be able to wait on us... The bartender was nice and said she would try and help us when shes not busy but it didnt happen. We finally asked for the manager who said that we should have been told on the phone that they wouldnt have been able to wait us. All that was said on the phone was that as long as you dont have over 15 people the table will work great for our dinner party. We ended up leaving. Pretty ridiculous.

I really wanted to like this place and even came back twice after receiving terrible service. The service was a little better the third time. Really cool building and stylish bar but they just dont get it. They should spend a few hours in the Green Pig around the corner to learn how to run a bar. Most of the time half of the bar (the basement) is closed off which is a shame because its a really cool space down there. Ive been here on Friday and Saturday nights and it has been very slow. They have a really strange reservation policy where tables will be reserved for hours with nobody sitting at them. People standing while reserved tables sit unoccupied. Poorly managed.

This place has been open a week and its obvious that the staff has no idea what theyre doing. The middle aged, over weight, and sweaty bartender that mans the downstairs bar is particularly terrible at his job. Not only is he rude, but he seems to think you owe him for having the privilege of standing at his bar. Sorry man, you dont deserve my usually generous tip. Feel free to come to this bar if youre looking for a mini maxwells. Popped collars, salmon colored shorts and boat shoes litter the establishment. All in all, 1/10. Wont be returning. Terrible service and terrible drinks. The prices are reasonable, but Id rather spend more somewhere else.

I traveled to SLC for the slopes, so here is a tourists perspective. I was here last week Sunday evening. Business was slow but the service was fast and friendly. Their beer selection was pretty good from what I noticed around town while visiting. The food was actually very good. I had mediocre expectations, and Twist definitely exceeded them. My burger was stacked sky-high and it was prepared exactly to the description and my order. The fries were a little under-cooked, and if I could choose again, I would go with the homemade chips. If you havent been here, give it a shot. Who knows, maybe this place will rock your world. It was alright for me.

I arrived at a slow time for restaurants and bars (@ 4 pm). The patio was big and empty when I arrived, but filled up later. I popped my head in the restaurant and got the attention of the bartender. As I was traveling solo with two large dogs, I couldnt go all the way in. The bartender was wonderful. She brought a water dish for the dogs and refilled it after they slurped it down. The patio was lovely with a soothing water feature next to it. There is a dog relief area immediately across the street with bags and everything. My beer and spinach salad (with Brussels sprouts and portobello mushrooms) were delicious!

The bar is really cool and the environment is great too. The only compliant is the staff. They at just plain rude. I accidentally left my credit card and when I called in the morning the lady said they didnt have it. I said that it had to be there unless the bartender gave it to someone else. She said, "well thats a big accusation coming from someone who left their card in a bar." Seriously! She then called me back 5 mins later to say that they did have it.

I was at this bar with a fairly large group of others just a few days ago. The service was exceptional, despite the issues which often crop up due to large groups. Overall, things went quite well. The issues we had were mostly related to the backup in the kitchen; a thing which can happen from time to time. The only thing I had an issue with was my burger, which was dry and had a rather dense bun for my tastes. All the other food was quite good indeed.

Twist is a nice, tucked away bar/grill in downtown SLC. The cocktails are not the most exciting. I ordered an old fashioned and it was cloyingly sweet. My girlfriend ordered another whiskey cocktail, whose name evades me as it was also underwhelming. The food is OK. We ordered the nachos and the falafel burger. I would consider ardering the falafel again, but I would not reorder the nachos. The chips got soggy within 5 min of being at our table.

Was having a good time talking to some girls. I always give the bartenders a decent tip. The guys next to me did not tip, and the bar tenders threw a fit yelling at all of us, telling the girls we dont tip. So by association I apparently didnt tip either. It was embarrassing to me and a very unprofessional thing for them to do. Really, idk why I tip them for opening a bottle and doing so after ignoring me for 15 minutes to attend to their regulars.

Very cool place, chill atmosphere, very unique decor. It can get a little awkward crowded though, and Im from out of town, I could definitely tell there were a lot of regulars giving me and my friends the eye because we obviously were new there. We just tried ignoring them and enjoyed ourselves. Outside of that, pretty cool place! No cover too, which is awesome, comparing it with some of the other local bars.
