Pros: -decent prices - good location -nice atmosphere -little wait time on meal(I ordered 4 rolls) Cons: -parking Went here for lunch with family (3) at around 1pm. No wait time although if you call for reservation ( they only reserve 1 hour in advance *note) was greeted by Deanna nice lady who sat us at a booth table (I chose it). Almost immediately Jill (Experienced) was with Jill (New person asian) they greeted us and told us about the specials and asked us if the we had any questions on the menu. ME being in sushi restaurants always asking how much sushi is per roll. Jill (XP) answered it swiftly. We ordered 4 sushi rolls a miso soup and bento box and not even 10 mins has passed food comes out all nice and present. Water glasses were always filled. Although I didnt appreciate Jill (xP) moving stuff in our table without saying a word to me that spoke body language of Haste and rush. And thats something I dont like especially in a sushi restaurant. After we finished our meal mom still eating jill (asian) asked if I wanted more rolls politely declined and Jill (xP) without saying a word takes our done dishes and leaves moms to finish I broke the ice and asked if she wanted to take these unused dishes she said yeah. Im sure she has good intentions though.. And the Jill (asian) was doing well too! Overall all experience I love this place atmosphere is nice and clean that Asian feel. Recommend Level 10! Try the House rolls their good for feels~ personally the dragon did it for me

This is the second Tsunami that Ive ever been to. I usually go to the one in South Jordan since its around the block from where I work. I reviewed it years ago, but was a little harsh. Since then, Ive had the opportunity to try a huge amount of the other sushi restaurants in the valley, and Tsunami is consistently better than the majority. Im more prone to order fresh rolls not consisting of mayos, cream cheeses or tempura. Tsunami has a wide array of fresher rolls...but honestly, even their tempura rolls are still awesome although heavier. Both locations Ive gone to are clean, and the service is prompt. This location specifically has a little upstairs room thats quieter and makes you feel like youre at a private party. Im a total fan and may begin frequenting this location more often than the South Jordan location from now on.

This has been my go-to restaurant for a number of years. I am sorry to say though that it has gone down dramatically. I order sushi to go, honestly at least once a week. It seems more often than not, they give me a very unrealistic time to pick up my order lately. I have frequently waited anywhere from 20 minutes up to and over an hour. On two occasions only, have I asked them why this has been happening. Instead of apologies and a reason why, I get accused of being abrasive by Tyler. That is simply untrue. With this new management, there seems to be nothing but problems. The old management knew me by name and were always all smiles, and there was never any question that the service was going to be impeccable. It looks like Im going to have to change my go-to to their South Jordan restaurant.

Sam at the midvale/ union park location was amazing! If you go there i would definitely recommend him. You could tell they were busy and he had a lot of tables but he was still willing to talk to the customers and check up on them. He was also the first to tell us what desserts they have and was specific where as the other waiters were more concerned about just getting the order in. He gave his input on what rolls he likes to try and guide us in what we were interested in. He was very positive and very outgoing and overall amazing. Best waiter ive ever had!

The sushi is fantastic and creative, the server just the right amount of attentive. The hot food from the main kitchen is well executed too which is a nice surprise. Good sushi places in my experience tend to have a lackluster kitchen with the same old tired teriyaki most likely from a bottle. This was not the case here. The shrimp I ordered was perfectly cooked and very well seasoned. The saké selection was also exceptional for Utah and the flavored saké sampler greatly pleased my dining companion.

I would suggest making a reservation online. We got there and got right in even though there was a huge wait at the door. I was surprised that our reservation was really a reservation...now it seems like everywhere is more just call ahead seating and you still end up waiting. Really good food and drinks. Went here for my birthday with some friends and I would definitely do it again. Besides the sushi, the shrimp poppers were my favorite. Our server was friendly and attentive, too.

Great sushi. Offers a gluten free menu too. The sushi options are plentiful and very tasty. Ive better been disappointed when Ive fine here. Parking is not ideal. They have a few doors open for to-go food but only a few open for the restaurant. Zions Bank is hoarding half of their parking and does a nail salon next to them. Add that is the only reason Id ding them one star. Other than that, its great.

Figured me and my girlfriend would try tsunami. I knew it was overpriced but wanted to try. I ordered take out and it took 1 hour to get on a slow night (I was quoted 45 minutes). My roll was not good the tempura vegetables were bad and the overall experience was just terrible. I work in the service industry and expect better service for the price. Not worth it. I wont be eating here again

This restaurant is pretty good, but this business development really takes advantage of its lack of parking to try and squeeze every last dollar out of you, as the valet himself takes up two or three of the few spots outside the restaurant. If it is going to be a bad parking situation just like downtown, then you might as well make the drive and get better sushi at other places there.

One of the best Sushi spots in the valley. Ive never been disappointed with the food. Service is typically very good and the atmosphere is busy enough to encourage the social sort of experience going out for sushi should be, while being laid back enough to enjoy your meal. I highly recommend this spot. Other Tsunami locations can be hit and miss, but this one has never failed me.

The sushi here is the absolute best in Utah. Try the PD, executive suite or Sunshine rolls. The fresh nigiri & sashimi is lovely. Go for a sashimi appetizer like Membachi zensai. (Now Im hungry!) For those not into sushi, phenomenally delicious cooked items. Korean-style short ribs are luscious. Baby backs are drool-worthy too. Amazing assortments of sake too. We love dining here.

Incredible food. The menu has a large variety. They offer as many entrees as they do sushi rolls. I definitely recommend this location over the other ones... The Sugarhouse location is a lot smaller and cramped. Union Heights is spacious and kept very clean. The servers seem nicer at this location as well. Highly recommend :)

The atmosphere was clean and trendy, the waitstaff and hostess were fast, friendly, and helpful, and the food was delicious! I cant wait to go back, the sake and sushi are so good. We ended up spending more than anticipated, but only because we couldnt help but keep eating and drinking. Absolutely would recommend.
