Stax is a wonderful, trendy looking place we decided to try based on a review here. We wont go back. At 6pm on a slow weekday night, they "were out" of veggie burgers (one of the basic choices on a limited menu), which could have been tolerable had we not ended up needing a replacement waitress because our original server was too busy hanging out in the corner talking. Staff standing around talking or focusing on 1 table, while customers at other tables were neglected, was a common theme. We had to flag someone down to get anything, including paying our bill. (I had to make the effort to give them my money.) And how does a restaurant "run out" of a staple item before dinner even starts?

We stopped in today (6/19/16) at 2 pm while the restaurant was very quiet. There were a couple patrons at the bar & customers at several tables. We were greeted promptly & told to sit wherever we like. Since it was 120 out we decided to stay away from tables near the doors & chose a corner seat where it was cooler. After the server proceeded to chastise us for choosing the "big" table we decided to go elsewhere. Too many other good restaurants nearby to bother with this place again.

You are crazy to give this restaurant anything other than 5 stars. The atmosphere is beautiful. Classic and modern. The service is awesome. The bartender greet us very politely and made us feel welcome. He was very knowledgeable and gave us some great suggestions. The prices are affordable too. He made me a grapefruit mule.. It was delicious. The food (slider style burgers) were amazing. I kid you not.. This place is worth it!

Great burgers and I love the variety of meats you can get but the service is a bit slow. Also I remember when they used to have a bunch of small burgers and the meat of the day changed, now they are just different sized burgers I think, instead of 3 small ones you just get a bigger burger than you normally would. Regardless, pretty good place and great tasting weird meat burgers, wild boar burgers are the best!

Good food but they lost my credit card going from the table to the cash register and back to the table. Kept me there an extra 15 minutes looking for the card which they didnt find. No comp lunch for me either. Went home without my card. Now I have to go through the process of canceling the card and calling/going on websites of the many vendors that get paid via my card. VERY VERY annoyed. Did I say VERY?

My wife and I visited on our way to a comedy club. It was okay bordering on good, but I was not blown away. We both got 2-3 oz burgers cooked medium rare. One was the buffalo and the other was the wild game burger (boar). Both were cooked to order, but lacked flavor (just the meat not the toppings). The sweet tots were good. There was nothing that was bad about the meal, but nothing really stood out either.

The quality of their meats are great and well cooked, however each time I have visited my burger was smothered in so much grease and the vegetables were soggy as well as the bun. Their website menu/prices are all incorrect as of 12/29/2015 as they have not updated the website in awhile per server - would recommend calling them for accurate prices and items listed on their menu.

This is a fun place to take a group of friends. The burgers are great. The appetizers are wonderful. The decor is fun and modern. It has a great outdoor seating area and the staff is great. Never had a problem with waiting too long for food. They have "exotic" burgers too that change. Once it was ostrich, once it was kangaroo! I love this place.

My friends and I stopped here to grab a bite before heading to the airport. Service was fast and the cucumber water was SO refreshing in the heat. Between the three of us eating there we had the beef, turkey and swai burgers. We enjoyed them all. There were tons of options with the choices of cheese and condiments.

This is one of my all time favorite restaurants! The food is phenomenal, and the servers are always kind and attentive. I always look forward to going! I will actively make sure not to eat that much before going to Stax, just so I can have the everything from appetizer to dessert! I cant wait to go back soon!

This place is completely overpriced. $5 or $6 for a burger that isnt even kid sized? Seriously? The portions are ridiculous. The food tasted fine, but it was hard to swallow knowing what I was paying for my familys meal. The atmosphere is nice - it is modern and hip, but we wont be back.

This place is delightful. The burgers are all small, but youre encouraged to try several. I get the special - which has been different every time Ive been and always good. The ahi tuna is a must. Split a side of tater tots with whoever youre with and you wont be disappointed.

Great sliders! I had the pulled pork and buffalo. They were both good. Its not your average burger joint. The meat is what it is. When the server told me the special was a rabbit burger, I thought that was just the name and it was a regular ground beef patty but boy was I wrong

i ordered 3 overpriced burgers to go and when I got back to the office there was no top part of the bun on 2 of them. tasty food but double check to make sure everything is there. 22 bucks for 3 sliders and i only get half the bun? ya im not going back

I love the sliders idea, so you can try several different kinds of burgers. Nice wide selection as well, not just your typical fare. Staff were friendly, although not always the most attentive. Location is pretty nice, trendy inside, good patio.

A wonderful find on our trip to Scottsdale. It helped us refuel after our 1/2 marathon with just the right amount of food. The tots and sweet potato pots were a favorite among the group and the burgers were out of the ordinary. Loved this place !

Great location, great patio. Great Staff. Food was perfecto. Burgers were great size so you can have 2 or 3. Exotic meats that are just not everywhere. Everything was good. And always make it DEJANS WAY by adding an Egg to each burger.

I like that they have small burgers and normal size ones. It allows you to try a few things. Great bar with good selection of beers. They have some very exotic burger selections. I have liked everything I have tried here.

The burgers were pretty good. But the smell in this restaurant smells awful... Smelled like a cross between sewer and mold! We had to sit outside because it was absolutely disgusting smell!!! And the server was just eh.

Great burger place! A bit pricey but a great atmosphere. The cocktails are delicious and the sliders are very flavorful. The "spicy" ketchup and aioli arent very spicy but the flavor is on point. Highly reccommend.

This has to be my favorite burger in Scottsdale! Although the prices may seem a little high, once you take a bite you will forget all about it :) My recommendation: order the sweet potato fries!
