28 October 2016 -- 5 stars = makes customers kings and queens, or offers superior product(s); crushes competitors that offer similar service and product(s). 4 stars = provides something extra for customers, or offers better than average product(s). 3 stars = provides good service and good product(s). 2 stars = provides low quality customer service or product(s). 1 star = fails in customer service or product(s); you suck; please go out of business. THE REVIEW The line was long at 1130 hours, but the line moved quickly. Obviously, people knew what they wanted, and the staff worked efficiently to process orders. You seat yourself, pick up your meal, and carry your tray and trash to the disposal area, but yet your credit card receipt has a line so you can add a tip. Are you kidding me? Seriously? You expect me to add a tip to a styrofoam plate of burger and fries that cost $7.59 after tax? This place is better than McDonalds, but it is not a venue you visit because you want to be seen and create lasting memories like on Cheers where everybody knew Herbs name. You come in, weave around people, order, sit, weave around people, pick up, weave through the crowd hoping someone doesnt knock your tray from your hands, sit, eat, and depart the building. You wont find the Fonze making jokes out of Ralph and Potsie while Richie and the gang ogle over hotties in the room. Come in, eat, go back to your job. It is a place to fill your tummy. You will depart filled, unless you are a gorilla.

This build your own burger place is a Phoenix favorite and it is easy to see why. The food is excellent and well-priced with a good selection of beef and chicken; something for everyone. Burgers are cooked in plain sight of the customers on a huge grill and are made to order. Plenty of cheese selections. The salad bar doubles as a burger bar and all the fixings you would want are available. They were one of the first to have the "Magic Red Coke Machine" that dispenses over 150 different drink combinations. The rustic decorations are pleasant, but the seating is pretty utilitarian. Be sure to try a burger with bacon - even if youre not a big bacon fan. They have these little circle bacon "patties" that really spark up the burger. Be careful; service is steady but not super fast - and during the second half of the lunch hour can fill up very quickly - leaving you standing in line a long time. A recommended treat.

Sitting here waiting on my order. I really hope its better than the guy that took my order. Not very customer service oriented. No "welcome" was doing a wrong order but when I asked isnt that a combo he says oh I thought you ordered and he said something other than what I was ordering. The price jumped from $6.99 to over $10 so I asked the prices. He seem to be bothered. Im here on a break from work. A person just walked up to my table and leaves a pizza tray with my burger on it and walks away. Dont they speak here. The burger is plain so I guess I put the items on it myself. I dont know, Never been here before. Probably not coming back. As I eat the burger I find the meat not fully cooked. Its pink in the middle. Im eating it because Im hungry and dont have time to go anywhere else. Not a good experience for me. I will not be back. I do not recommend.

Every time I go here, I get awesome customer service. I love the part that you get to pile on any all the fixins that you want for no extra charge. The burgers are big and juicy, they also have grilled chicken breasts which are equally as good. I love that you get to pick your type of cheese, and your type of bun. I introduced both my girlfriend and my mom (a few years apart) and both have enjoyed it. As far as the bar is concerned, I only drink stouts and porters when it comes to beer. They have Guinness available, but only in the bottle. I havent had any cocktails here as of yet, so Im not able to report if theyre good or not. Ill leave an updated report when I do.

Since I was a kid in the eighties, Ive come here first with my father now with my husband and many friends over the years. They cook over an open fire mesquite wood grill everything has thats a fire-grilled flavor. Ive tried their wings, garden burger, chicken breast sandwich, fish and chips, grilled fish sandwich, the salad bar, soup and of course their grilled Burgers. Everything Ive tried with the exception of the garden burger was homemade and delicious. They have a chuckwagon style bar where you at the toppings that you like (lettuce, tomato, jalapeno, peppercinis, onions and condiments). Go try The Original Hamburger Works with your family and start a tradition.

Nice family environment even though there is a bar. Everything was fine until my burger arrived, and tasted rancid. Not sure why this happened. I ordered a burger with grilled onions, grilled mushroom, and grilled green chili. I suppose any of these could have been it, although it tasted like rancid meat, not green chili, etc. I did not report this because i had lost my appetite and did not want any food, so i cant comment on their customer service. Anyway, the others in the party enjoyed their food, which is why the 2 stars.

This is probably the first 5 star review I have given in a long time. I cannot describe my experience in the appropriate words so I recommend to just see for yourself. Dont expect a 5 star full service restaurant where waiters serve your beer in a silver ice container. This is not the place. This is a burger shop and for a burger shop it gets 5 stars. Antique decor, awesome food and service that knows how to move a huge crowd. Been coming here for years and will continue to do so.

We love hamburger works! Its our favorite neighborhood bar and grill. The hamburgers are the best in town and the bar staff are always friendly. The decor may be old but some of us are old too. It feels homey and cozy. I love the booth seating in the bar and the free popcorn and peanuts! The big salad bar rocks too. The only negative I would say is no dessert selection. All they have big cookies...not to good either. They should buy spunkmeyer cookies.

Good spot for almost anything you want and could have at a sit down fast food joint. Huge portions and youll be sure to get full. The place is owned by a Korean family and a pretty nice one at that. The sons manage the joint most of the time, it seems like. Id give it a 4-star if they did some kind of massive burger or hot wings, food eating contest like Long Wongs. Otherwise, not bad.

Amazing!! I stopped here aroumd 6:00 one night, the parking lot was.packed. I went to the bar, and got derved right away. The big crowd had no effect on service at all. The fish and chips are unbelievable, and i am from New England. The burgers are also amazing, but iam now addicted to the fish and chips. aThe parking lot was packed
