ATTENTION!! I EXPERIENCED A LIFE--OR-DEATH SITUATION AT THIS FACILITY!! Let me apologize in advance because what I am about to tell you will not be a short story, but WORTH READING!!! If I could give a negative rating I would. This evening I experienced one of the most traumatizing and frightening experiences of my life. I ordered the shrimp fajitas and with the first bite of my meal I began to choke. I was terrified and didnt know what to do. I stood up and put my hands around my throat indicating I was choking. After what seemed like a lifetime my sister stood up and began to perform the Heimlich maneuver. After several abdominal thrusts the obstruction in my airway became dislodged and I could begin to breath again. Everyone in the room was starring and asking if I was ok and someone called 911. I sat down at the table still coughing up remanence of the food and phlegm still lodged in my throat when the waiter approached the table. He asked if we would like a couple Togo boxes and the check, showing no concern of my current state or my distress . My sister gave the waiter her credit card to pay. At the time I was still trying to wrap my mind around what had just happened and was in a state of shock. The police and fire department came and checked me out to make sure I didnt need further medical attention. They informed me that I was going to be ok and said I was good to go home. Now that Ive had time to calm myself and think about the circumstances of the situation I cant help but feel displeased and angry about the how heartless and unprofessional the Serranos staff handled this predicament and angry that my sister paid for the meal that couldve been my last. I would advise you to spend your money elsewhere. Im going to tell everyone I know about what had taken place tonight at this facility and I wont spend another dime at ANY Serranos franchise. I would also like to suggest that they get their staff CPR certified in case something like this were to occur again.

After hearing multiple recommendations, we finally tried Serranos in Chandler. What a DISAPPOINTMENT! Here is my nutshell review: Overpriced menu and mediocre food, coupled with watery, expensive Margaritas. First problem: We asked the waiter about drink prices- can you imagine $5 for a draft domestic beer? The waiter told us that the Margaritas were $6.50, but after ordering, "OOPS!" The price went up, to $7.00. Then, when my wife ordered the nachos (8.99 for beans and cheese), the menu showed $2 extra for chicken or beef. However, the waiter advised us that the menu was wrong, it was actually $3 extra. I mentioned that the menu shows $10.99, but he stated that the menu needed to be updated. I ordered their "special" Asada Chimichanga (no beans or rice on the side), for $11.99. It arrived undercooked, filled with beef that was over-seasoned with black pepper and salt, and onions. As I scanned the other food that others ordered, the main theme I noticed is that the main dishes are small, but the plates are filled with lots of rice and watery beans. Our bill was $37 with tax and tip, but I could have spent $10 at Taco Bell and had a better Mexican food experience.

Just terrible. We came in for lunch and it literally took 1 hour 15 minutes. Just because we ordered an appetizer does not mean we should have waited so long. You know the service was bad when the hostess realized we hadnt gotten drinks yet and she had to get them for us. It took way too long to get our drinks, our food, and our check. The restaurant was busy but it looked like there were plenty of other waiters around. Had our waitress been the one cooking the food, I would have understood why it took so long. Only that the taste was also below par! Honestly the chips and salsa was the best part of the meal. Three of the Four items on the appetizer platter were tasty, the fourth was unedible. The seafood platter featured very tasty grilled shrimp, but the fish "fillet" was so overcooked it was laughable. I even made my wife try it so she could see how bad it was. There was little taste, and it was so chewy, obviously overcooked. The other food was ok but in no way did the food make up for the terrible service. We tried the Serranos in Ahwatukee about 15 years ago and 15 years is too short a time to visit this restaurant again. We wont be back.

We literally just ordered take out from here on Uber Eats. The fajitas were delivered with no tortillas. My wife called within 2 minutes of delivery and asked them to just bring tortillas and they said they couldnt. I called back and asked for a partial credit to use for next time we order and they declined. All they offered was to give us a free side of tortillas next time were in their restaurant. Its not free when you already paid for it and didnt get it. Not only did we pay $38 for 2 entrees, we didnt get the main part of one of the entrees. We made 2 efforts to solve the problem and all they were willing to do was give us free tortillas next time (even though we need the tortillas now- not next time). Poor customer service. There was no effort to make this right. They didnt even offer a free appetizer or drink if we came in. And now the food sits cold because were going to the store to get tortillas so we can eat dinner. Isnt the whole point of ordering delivery so that you dont have to leave the house? Were new to the area and will find another Mexican restaurant to give our business to. Waste of $38.

We have been coming to Serranos for 15 years. Each time we come, the service and food declines. Tonight, we decided to go to the Chandler Pavilion location. (It really doesnt matter the location. Each location is horrible.) We ordered the Chimmys and they were soggy and undercooked. The red sauce for chips and salsa was watery and bland. We asked to speak to the manager after reassuring the server she did nothing wrong. (I still left her a decent tip.) The manager was extremely complacent and brazen about our concerns. Total disregard over the fact that the food served in his restaurant was sub par. Asking us what he should do to rectify the situation. Then, proceeds to tell us that they will not comp both. I did not ask for him to do that in the first place. All I wanted was for him to know what his cooks are doing wrong and fix it. Therefore, making our decision much easier to never return to another Serranos again.

Friday evening 6:30pm...open spots to park by building. Enter....no greeting. Three girls giggling and gaggling. Hated to interrupt their important conversation. 20 minute wait. Really/ A handful of tables sitting empty. The place seemed half full. The other half in the waiting area. Went directly to another family owned local restaurant. Greeted even before the door closed. Seated immediately. Very busy but waited on quickly and meal came out quickly. I know where Im going back. Wont be Serranos. Im a local who supported them when the major construction went on and you could hardly get in. Summer heat = no problem. Hope you make it on one-time snow birds!
