So my boyfriend made reservations three months ahead for Valentines Day to be spent here. I honestly think this place is such a great place to go to special events. Definitely not a place to come to every week but its a nice place for special occasions. I loved the lights outside the log. We had them valet park the car so we could go in for our reservation. They give out roses on Valentines Day. Which I think is so sweet. Now as for the dining and the place its beautiful. They have these cute lights that you can turn up or down at each table. Its very classy. The menu isnt very big but everything on the menu is to die for. You have a choice of a couple appetizers and an entree and of course (my favorite ) dessert. The appetizer we went for was the octopus and calamari. This came with two dinner buns/ rolls, that came with butter or their house made hummus. The bread was so good. Very moist but had a crisp outside. Just how I like it. I loved the butter , hummus and bread. If you get the same appetizer we got, I totally recommend putting the appetizer on the bread. Its like heaven in your mouth. As for the entree, I got the NY steak? I cant really remember the exact name, but it came with the juiciest steak ever, roasted carrots and potatoes. I seriously loved the steak. Im not much of a steak person usually but this steak was too GOOD! The portion was definitely good too. My boyfriend got the Elk dish. Sorry for not remembering the names, but his dish was also great. It came with elk (of course) roasted sweet potatoes, and butternut squash. I must say the sauce they made worked great with the dish. As for my favorite part : DESSERT! We were really between two desserts . It was either the coconut soufflé or the pineapple upside down cake. We went with the pineapple upside down cake. YOU HAVE TO TRY IT! Its so soooo soooo to die for. It comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Which I think is the best part . The cake is great and packed with flavor but the ice cream really brings it to a whole new level. Without the ice cream, I would personally be very overwhelmed with the cake. Dont get me wrong the cake is amazing, but if I just ate the cake alone.... I would get tired of the taste. So the ice cream is a good touch. My overall experience was AMAZING. I would definitely go again. The waiter helped so much in recommending great dishes and I also loved the food. The portions were good. If youre worried of it being expensive .... let me tell you, its worth the price. Youll be happy and full. Its a great place and I recommended it for special occasions. Or if youre looking for a good meal.

We were so happy with Log Haven from our first visit there, to when we exited on our wedding day. Faith provided exemplary customer service and definitely made sure that we were well taken care of. She took the time to get to know us and our style and made us feel cared for and respected as individuals throughout the process. Additionally, the venue is so beautiful! That is what drew us there in the first place - the location. It is a beautiful cabin-in-the-woods-feel paired with elegance in a stunning outdoor backdrop. The food was excellent. We chose to have 2 hors doeuvres during cocktail hour (the only downside was that they ran out of appetizers; I would recommend to other couples to have more than we did!). Everyone loved the hors doeuvres. We then did a dinner buffet that was filling and was made with natural ingredients, which also was something we were looking for. The food was loved by us and all of our guests. Faith and her team were really so excellent to work with. They made sure that things flowed seamlessly and that we could enjoy our wedding day without stressing about anything. That, combined with Log Haven’s natural beauty, made this an excellent ceremony and reception venue that we so highly recommend!

I have been here twice. Once in February and once in August. Both times the service and setting were amazing. I recommend going in winter when there is snow on the ground. The snow creates a surreal ambiance and really adds to the experience of driving into the Canyon to eat at this historic log home. There is a frozen (in the winter) waterfall in the parking lot across from the restaurant. I also recommend winter because they have a nice fire place waiting area with real logs burning. I dont remember what I ate during the winter visit, but I remember feeling like it was a good hearty winter meal. My summer visit was also nice. I had the surf and turf. The restaurant leaves the windows open to let in the nice cool canyon air. No fire in the fire place for obvious reasons. We showed up 30 minutes early for our reservation and they sat us down 10 minutes later. I would definitely go again, but it isnt not cheap. On a side note I do not really drink wine, or drink very much at all for that matter, but the Wine list here is extensive; with everything from Spain and France to Austria and Australia.

My husband and I went to the Log Haven tonight for our third anniversary. I was excited to try something new and this place had great reviews. However, we were a little disappointed. We reserved a table online but there was no way to request the patio. When we came in we asked if we could sit outside and the hostess seemed very annoyed by this. Bad way to start the evening. Ignoring her poor attitude, we sat down to enjoy our meal. We got the mushroom appetizers which were amazing! Loved them - highly recommend. But when our dinners came out we were a little disappointed. Our food was cold from the first bite, my husbands steak was over cooked and as he explained to me "it was like eating a rubber tire". Our total came to $130. We both agreed your paying for the atmosphere. It was beautiful but we have eaten much better and paid alot less. It wasnt horrible but other than the pretty atmosphere and great appetizers its nothing special either. If you want a great steak I would recommend Flemings. Ate there the week prior and it was amazing. This place is not worth the money.

Came on a Thursday night for my 9th anniversary. There was a wedding going on, so parking was all along the road. Fortunately, they do offer free valet (just pay the tip). Our server Erik was great. Very knowledgeable, nice sense of humor. I had the pork loin, and my wife had the bison steak. Both were very delicious, though nothing that blew my mind away. The loin was very moist. Both of us had good size portions. My only complaint was that for such a nice place, the plating was a little sloppy, and the flavors were not as sharp or complex as they could have been. That being said, it was a great experience, and I would certainly come here again. Not a place for kids. Nice rustic environment. Had live music while we were there. Extensive wine list, though I dont drink. Beautiful waterfall they kept lit, right out the main window. Server says that the water is spring water from the spring on the property.
