The service staff speaks minimum english!! Hard to understand and/or explain!! The fried rice was the worst thing i have tasted in a while - it was very sticky/clumping white mass of "rice" with occasional brown spots, which may have been teriyaki souse (who knows). It had a musky and stale taste!!! ewe... When i tried to explain that the rice was bad (NOT FRIED RICE at all); the waitress went and told the cook. When she came back, she told us that the cook said "there is nothing wrong with the fried rice"! REALLY??? You tell your customers that?? Sushi is another awful experience. The rice was undercooked and the see seed leaf around it is extremely dry - i almost choked trying to push it down with water!!! FOLKS, dont waste your money or time on this place. Go visit Keyoto or Miyako instead - even though the wait is longer, but at least you WILL enjoy your food!!!!

This is my favorite Sushi place in Montgomery. They have a good selection of everything from sashimi, hand-rolls, regular rolls, fried-rolls, etc. On Tuesday nights they have an $11.99 for two rolls deal which makes their more expensive rolls half price. Their rolls are very large - 10 to 12 mouthful pieces each. They also have a great selection of other items such as tempura, fried rice, bulgogi, etc. Its a cozy restaurant with seating for about 30 total, including about 8 seats at the actual sushi bar.

Were leaving the Gump soon and this is honestly the place I will miss the most. Small, quiet, cozy joint. Low-key atmosphere and great food for a very reasonable price. My husband and I visit at least once a month, and have never gotten anything we didnt like. Sushi, udon, katsu, etc., have all been wonderful. Service has always been awesome. My only complaint is that they dont serve chilled sake. The lunch and dinner specials are great and leave both my stomach and my bank account full.

Wow. This place is great! It is small but everything about this place makes up for the size. We were greeted promptly, our food came out quick, and our food was delicious. My mother and I each got two rolls for $9.99. I ordered a $13 and $9 roll and it was only $9.99 for both. Our rolls were delicious and my brothers food was great as well, greatly seasoned beef and veggies. I highly recommend this place and will be back!

The only thing Japanese about this place is the staff, who speak very little english! The food is absolutely TERRIBLE!!! I ordered chicken teriyaki, rice, and veggies and it all seemed to be heated in a microwave. The vegetables were WAY undercooked, the chicken tasted like rubber, and the rice was sticky... my daughter ate two bites and literally THREW UP. This place needs to be shut down!!!!!

Food is pretty awful. The shrimp teriyaki tasted as though it had been warmed up in a microwave. The shrimp was not cooked on a grill or hot top only microwaved. The vegetables that came with the food were also not cooked only smothered in sauce and warmed. Would not recommend this place to anyone to eat at. We did not try the sushi so I can not give an opinion.

Have been going here for the last year at least - the chicken katsu is my favourite thing on the menu! Recently tried their sushi as well, it all tasted really fresh and wasnt chewy. Great service despite there usually only being one or two servers at lunch time, but kinda small on space. Id love to see them move up to a bigger location!

Friendly staff, inviting atmosphere, reasonable prices, and great selection keep me visiting this Japanese restaurant. Their bento boxes are astounding, and the tempura is excellent - always hot and crispy! Brought my Japanese relatives here and they give their stamp of approval! Love this place!

The $1 nigiri special for lunch is mostly all that I come for. Its amazingly cheap. Other than that, Ive tried some of their plates and its unfortunate that theres barely any seasoning. I dont normally put salt on prepared food but I do here. Salad dressing is good, miso soup is very bland.

The soup and salad was horrible. The yum yum sauce was like water. I ordered fried rice and it was really sticky. After the bought out three orders of so called fried rice I told them just to take it off the bill because it was obvious they didnt know what fried rice was

If you love sushi, this is the place to go in Montgomery, AL. Im not sure if its well- known or not because its hardly ever packed at lunch. But the service is friendly and fast. The food is top-notch. Best Japanese in Montgomery.
