CUSTOMER REVIEW : The Spot 79 Restaurant/ Bar NOW has KARAOKE If you like Karaoke, youll going to be a fast fan of " Karaoke Addiction" happening at The Spot 79 Restaurant/ Bar located at 7944 SE Foster Blvd. in Portland Oregon starting at 8pm on Friday and Saturday nights. Ive tried many MANY Karaoke joints in Portland over the years and have to say, Karaoke Addiction at the Spot is TRULY the BEST-- A+, and takes the cake! The Karaoke system setup is current, up to date and has clearest, tightest sound system in town. Not only that, Karaoke Addiction uses many screens- even a big screen to help you out with lyrics. The Karaoke sound system also allows for duets and/ or various singers and has more than one Microphone type for singers to choose from. Not only that- the DJ is super friendly and is super familiar with wide range of music genres.If you forget an artist or a song name he will be able to assist you....simply just ask and you will be dialed in within seconds. No wasting any time here. Karaoke Addiction is kind, friendly and encouraging to all singers alike and I will never Karaoke anywhere else again. You cannot help but have a good time. ITS AWESOME!!! Given the location of this place, it isnt as bad as one might expect. I like the individual TVs at each booth. The drinks are very strong and happy hour has some great prices. The food however was very disappointing. I had a California chicken sandwich, it was supposed to come with avocado so naturally I assumed it would have slices of fresh avocado on it. I was wrong, instead it had that awful cheap pre-packadged guacamole that doesnt even resemble avocados. The chicken tasted bitter, like it was cooked on a dirty grill and lacked any seasoning. For $9.95 I expected real fresh avocado slices, at the very least a seasoned sandwich. Unfortunately I will not eat here again, but would definitely come back to have a couple drinks and watch a game. The staff was nice and helpful

It was my day off. Decided to ride my bike around and find a new local spot to grab some good food and a brew... Stumbled upon Spot 79... The bartender was very welcoming and poured a solid shot of whiskey and a PBR. While helping out other patrons and her friends, she still found time to hand me a menu and pitch the specials. I think her name was Sarah? Anyways, the atmosphere was spectacular, service amazing, and I always told myself I would never try seafood from a bar, but the steamers and garlic bread were beyond my expectations! I will be back! Friendly locals too!

Ive been here twice and this time they were really really understaffed. The owner made me the most fantastic Crab Louie so I really shouldnt complain. Honestly on my first visit the meal was very well priced and excellent. Next time I go I hope they have figured out the chef and given the wonderful bartender a barback

Interesting place. Dont judge on looks alone. I would avoid karaoke night unless you enjoy listening to off key middle aged folks singing. I love Michelle, she pours great drinks. The food is good. Try the steak bites and the chef salad. I love any of the omelettes smothered in hollendase sauce. Oh Yum...

The bar itself has changed owners 3 times in the last 12 to 15 years and actually improved its internal appearance significantly. The food has increased in price significantly, while the portions have decreased in size drastically, and in the freshness of the food is questionable.
