After a day of museum hopping, I just wanted to sit down and eat. A quick yelp search and what do I find out? A burger place with my name in it? I must try. Thats what came through my mind. Once we found the location, it seemed pretty inconspicuous. I wouldnt have noticed it if I were just walking by. The sign needs a touch-up. Mainly, the J has disappeared. So we get a couple of burgers. They come in 3 sizes: Munch (3 oz. - $4.75), Midi (5 oz. - $6.25), Maxi (8 oz. - $7.75) Toppings included are: lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapenos, pickle, tabasco, sauteed onions. I got a Midi with Cheddar. Im not big on toppings, so I got lettuce and tomatoes. I would have preferred if they didnt use shredded lettuce. Mr. Joy got a Maxi with Swiss. Both look like they were made with potato buns. The cheese was slightly melted. The buns were a little toasted. We ordered them medium rare and they were tasty and juicy. The burgers were overall satisfying and affordable. We also got the Batatas - Sweet Potato Fries, which evidently are not fries. They were somewhat like sweet potato chips, but the center was still a little raw.

When you first walk into Joy Burger, it feels like you were transported back in time to a time when Coca-Cola was glorified. It feels this way from all the rustic Coca-Cola memorabilia all around the restaurant. Joy Burger definitely has a unique burger joint feel to it. Youre even given a playing card as your number for your order. Thats not all that is great about Joy Burger though. I consider their burgers and fries to be the best in NYC. Their different sauces really make them stand out from other burger places, especially Five Guys which offers a similar burger customization except Joy Burger has far more reasonable prices than Five Guys. I also prefer Joy Burgers fries as they have a more potato feel to them.

Nice location. Parking wasnt terrible to find. Place was empty when we showed up but they had a lot of deliveries going and people picking up. The server was friendly. One was on her cell the whole time I was there but she at least had the decency to put her phone down and come check on us. I had the burger of the day. The burger overall was really good but I was upset that only put like 2 jalapeños and barely put the spicy mango chutney that was pretty much the signature of the burger. The fries were so good and the onion rings are the best. Definitely coming back for the onion rings and probably build my own burger All and all I would definitely come back again

Il font de très bon Burger de super frite maison, de bon beignet doignon avec un gout de beignet de foire (un peu sucré). Le personnel est très sympa et surtout très compréhensif avec le fait que nous ne parlions par super bien langlais. Je le conseille vraiment à tout les amateurs de Burger à laméricaine

Sadly the customer service here is utterly horrible. They dont cater to the clients, and will constantly get orders wrong when delivered. Often times the errors are just part of the staffs inability to take orders correctly, but this effects the overall experience. The food is decent, but the service needs a reboot, and the delivery system needs serious fixing. Its sad that a place with such potential has to succumb to such bad service. Till they learn to cater to the client this place will always just be a subpar burger joint trying to be a premium burger joint.

Usually through the area maybe a couple times a week and always passing it by. Finally stopped in today to get a quick lunch and tired of fast food. Ordered a "Maxi"- 8oz burger with the home made fries, meat cooked medium well. Burger was cooked to my liking, but didnt look like an 8oz to me and the fries looked alright. Atmosphere isnt bad at all, just looks like the place needs to be renovated and make it look more modern. Have someone clean the tables more often. Maybe new management???

My husband found this place online and it had good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. Its a cozy little gem in lower Harlem, and it was awesome! The sweet potato fries are shaped like little disks and are so good. They come with maple syrup, which I thought was weird until I tried it, and then fell in love! The burger was great too, especially considering how much we paid. Will definitely be returning.

My delivery go-to on the UES - the burgers are done just the way you like - and the sauces are where its at. Dont forget to try the olive tapenade on any burger or sandwich, but it goes particularly well with the grilled chicken. The fries are also crazy addictive. Only downside, sometimes the food takes 45 minutes or so to come when they get busy - and once or twice I had to reheat.

Joy burger is a great place to order from. The delivery is seamless and consistent. The food is pretty filling and great as well. They throw in as many fries as they can fit into your takeout bag which is always great. Ive passed the restaurant multiple times and from what I can see it seems clean and open. No reason not to come enjoy a burger with a friend for lunch here.

This burger bar is a little different from other burger places. You can select the size of your burger and you can request that your burger be cook well done or medium. You also have your choice of sauces on your burger. The cheese burger that I ordered was cooked to my liking and was delicious. Service was excellent.

The delivery service sucks...took 45 minutes, food was very cold, fries was soggy, mozzarella sticks were hard from being cold, the lady put lettuce and tomatoes on burger when I asked for it on side, burger came very soggy, deff not worth 25 dollars . Ever since they changed there bun this place sucks smh never again

(Used a groupon) IT WAS FABULOUS. Ordered a veggie burger with mango chutney that I adored, but heard great things about the beef burger as well. The wait staff were incredibly polite and accommodating. When out-of-towners ask about must do places in NYC, Joy Burger Bar will be at the top of my list!

This place is fantastic and lives up to its name. You can order a delicious juicy (not greasy) burger to the size (mini, midi, maxi) you prefer. If you like your burger with wine instead of beer, you can have that here too. The staff is wonderful and cheerful. A very good value for your money.

While others may rave about J.G. Melon, I always recommend Joy Burger because of the great service. The burgers are very well cooked and the portions are generous. The service staff always have a smile on their faces. Foodies should order the homemade lemonade as its a magical concoction.
