Ive been going to Burger Guru since early 2012 and at first I was in love with the place. Definitely has the feel of BareBurger, but more hipster like. I used to eat here a lot back then cause I had a boyfriend who lived a couple blocks away from the place. Now, Im back in Williamsburg, working, and I go to this place whenever Im up for a burger. Lately, the service has been pretty bad, but the food is still good. Only reason Im writing this review now, is because this is my fifth time there since Ive been working in Williamsburg and the service was AWFUL. I have never been this mad at a restaurant before and Im not the type to get angry ever. This is specifically what went down: I called in to order a cheeseburger with nothing, BUT lettuce. Simple enough right? Apparently not. Them not getting my order right has happened every time now, so I wasnt that surprised. Luckily I caught it in time, since they said "Heres your PLAIN burger". Fix that mistake pretty quickly. When I gave the money for my burger, my server half-assed my change. He only gave me the dollar bills and kept the 42 cents all to himself. Youre not allowed to tip yourself even if the tip is incredibly low AND you didnt get my order right! On top of all this, when I brought the burger to my job, they forgot the lettuce AND misplaced my name on the receipt ! Withney? Really? I gave this place way too many chances and this time ruined it for good. To sum it up, Burger Guru, your food is pretty good, but your service will kill your business. Either train your employees better or hire a new staff. One more thing, the food has definitely changed. I really dont believe its organic anymore and they put WAY too much salt on the fries. Goodbye Guru.

Went down to the burger guru last weekend with a couple of friends...All I have to say is WOW!!! The place looks amazing. The decor was beautiful and different compared to any other food establishment in brooklyn......what topped it of for me was there rear yard patio....there is high hopes for this place. The music was good, not too loud, not to low. It was just perfect. Now for the juicy part, had a guru burger(organic) n.8th street style, holy, moly, what the hell kind of burger was that!! It was cooked perfectly, the way I ordered it....never had such a juicy, fresh tasting burger like this before. Topped any burger place Ive ever been to before. As far as the fries, cooked perfect, and there dips, oh my god, what was that. The guru dip was out of this world. Never tasted anything like that. The bbq sauce was also good. My friend had the onion rings, they were right on the money. Gad them with the chipotle mayo sauce. I asked the waitress where this sauces came from and she told me they are made inhouse, with a lot of other stuff they make here. Sweet potatoe fries were also good. Staff was great, very attentive, and place was packed with a lot of happy smiles......one guy that looked like the owner was great. Went up to everytable and asked everyone if everyting was ok, and if anyone needed anything else. Now that is customer service... I am definetly going back there and would recommend this plce to the world........good job burger guru.......keep doin what ur doing and you guys will rock....I thank my friends for intoducing this place to me....

The Burger Guru? Try Burger Screw You....When I looked over the menu online I was excited to see the amount of burger choices they had. Not to mention the different types of meat to choose from. So venturing out, my boyfriend and I made our way over to see if the burger guru was really that great. Upon entering the atmosphere was nice. A bar to the left with high two top tables. When asked about outside seating, we opted for it.... The garage/shed we were led to made me regret it. Poorly lit with an aura of horror-movie-shady- ness to it, we sat at a square lunch table away from the dank corner so we could see each other, as well as, the menu. Our waiter came over and didnt introduce himself. He gave us more than ample time to look over the menu and had a hard time understanding what we wanted. With only 2 other tables I was confused as to his rushed manor. The burgers came and were mediocre at best. The coleslaw ended up being the best part of the meal, which had to be scraped onto our burgers because no utensils were ever provided. The milk shake we ordered at the beginning of the meal had to be reminded...and took the entire meal for the small fete to be accomplished. Napkins were also never offered and had to be reminded of twice before they even came, after the meal...and the milkshake. The atmosphere was something out of a horror movie and the food and service did not trail behind. The best part of the meal? Getting out of there. I do not recommend going here, there are some things that just arent worth your time; poor, overpriced service and food is one of them.

Nette, schnelle Bedienung.

Happened upon this place on a quiet Sunday afternoon after reading some reviews on yelp. The experience was terrible. The waiter sat us in the back and then basically forgot about us. It took about 15 minutes just to place our order. This is a burger joint, how long does it take to cook a burger? Well at the burger guru, it takes at least 25 minutes. 25 minutes for them to put 3 burgers on the grill. Unbelievable! Well, we get the burgers and start eating and realized that we do not have utensils, nor do we have napkins. After waiting 5-10 minutes for the waiter to come back and check on us (which never happens), I got up the napkins and utensils myself. This is just terrible service. Now, if the food was amazing, I could let some of the terrible service go, but the burgers were so underwhelming that I was just annoyed. Oh and both the regular fries and sweet potato fries are way too greasy. Dont go here. Im willing to bet that the service and quality is better at McDonalds. FAIL!

Maybe I was really happy with the food here because I was starving, but still! I dont understand why there were a lot of negative reviews. Maybe its because of the slow service. Our appetizers came along with the entree, which I think we made clear that we were starving people. JUST GIVE US FOOD. Probably a miscommunication there. Ill let it slide. My turkey burger did not taste like a turkey at all, it was almost like beef. Delicious. Not dry, just like how I like it! I added the n.8st spin on my burger and the cheese was sooo good. I almost died. Our appetizer was the trio and it was amazing! The guru sauce I could drink. Ok, no I wont do that. But wow. Nomnomonom. Will probably come back. It reminded me of a different version of bareburger. And Im okay with that.
