Food - 3 stars, Service - 0 stars. Some friends and I had dinner here in December 2008. It was a pleasant find for the neighborhood. Decor was cozy and low key. Unfortunately, the service left a LOT to be desired. The restaurant was more than half empty, and my party was one of the first to arrive. We were seated at 7:30 and did not receive our entrees until almost 10 PM!!! After waiting almost an hour for our food, and realizing that the parties all around us had received theirs, (they arrived after us), we asked the waiter where our food was. We watched the chef inside the kitchen twiddle his thumbs for the past hour. Turns out, our order was never even delivered, and he blamed the computer. The fact that the order was written down didnt seem to matter. He took our order again. You would think that the manager or waiter would at least comp a beverage, dessert or send an appetizer for the wait, but he didnt. We had to ask for water refills several times. I asked for more salsa and chips, to which I received an eye roll. I had to ask for it again a few times before the runner gave me a rude "its over there", indicating the other side of the restaurant. (If it was ready, and the table had not seen any service for over an hour, what was he waiting for?) It just added insult to injury. I had a great grilled corn appetizer and short rib entree. The chips with the corn salsa was a nice alternative to the tomato kind one usually gets. The Vera Cruz margarita hit the spot. I REALLY wanted to like this restaurant. This neighborhood needs more cute places. However, the impression I left with was that the staff just doesnt care about business or customers. Doesnt exactly make me want to come back does it? NOTE: I had tried writing to the owner or manager at the email on their website before posting this review. However, the email on the site was wrong and not functional.

Ordene comida de ahi y estuvo horrible. Las papas mas tiezas que un palo, los chicken fingers casi quemado, el arroz con vegetales hasta con arroz crudo y para completar el pollo relleno de platanos maduros los platanos estaban cuando se maduran y se secan ahi guardao y encima crudoo..... Al dueño de eso que se deje de estar en gozadera gozando lo que se gano y ponga atencion a esto chichi!!! Que no sere la mejor Cheff pero si me pongo cocino mejor que ese que cocino hoy!!!!

The food is always amazing in this place. We always go to this place. (5 STARS FOR THIS) and service from the waiter. (BELOW TWO STAR) THE ONLY COMPLAIN I HAVE WAS when the Hosted Sara doesnt know how to speak to customers. She is a horrible hosted. She doesnt know how to coordinate. First of all she left tables open for a good 10 minutes in order to sit people down. She was going to the back to chi-chat and grab food from her co-workers. Instead of taking her job serious and getting rid off the long wait she is just hanging out. I believe she was doing everything on purpose. I called to say I was going to be 10 mins late because of construction outside of the restaurant . She is told me she was sitting me down in 5 mins next thing you know she sits someone else. I LOVE THIS PLACE I JUST CANT deal with her as a Hosted or waitress.

The food was OK, had better. The service was horrible. The waiter (Eddie) was unpleasant, snarky and careless. My cousin asked for little ice in her mojito and he snapped at her with "if you want less ice, order something else". We didnt see the the waiter again. He send the person that cleaned the table to give us the tab. When I approached the person in charge at the time and let her know how we felt, she said nothing and later when we were outside the restaurant she was pointing at us and laughing with another co-worker. We will NEVER go to this restaurant again.

I usually order delivery but the few times Ive actually come here I had a nice experience. Overall, I love Guadalupe a lot. Every time I order food it is delicious, they never let me down. Ive tried about 50% of the menu and not once have I wished I hadnt ordered. The delivery can be a bit slow, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. But when it does arrive, the food is hot. And delicious. This is the best Mexican place in the nabe. Its sad they dont have more competition. Still, as long as they stay in business I will hit them up when I get a craving.

I enjoy my food and the environment from this restaurant, but I think it is really tacky for the valet attendants to tamper with my car. I ate here last night and decided to use valet for the first time. Well, I received back my car and to my disdain, my gas was low and my radio stations were set (I never ever preset stations in my cars). That is so distrespectful. Not only do I feel violated, but I can not trust that my car is at peace if I hand it over. I didnt notice until I drove off and it was late, but Im bringing it to your attention.

I visited Guadalupes today as a last resort when my original place wasnt open. It turned out to be a great experience. The food is delicious (the ceviche is not peruvian style ceviche). What really impressed me were the drinks. Delicious mojitos! Would definitely visit again for drinks. I went Saturday afternoon and they were not too busy i think this is the only reason why our service was ok because the servers where not courteous. Also, do not go to Guadalupes looking for authentic Mexican food. Food is very tasty but it is not mexican.

Place looks very good, but service is bad, food is really with no taste, drinks even worst, plus the prices are ridiculous high. When I walked to a place that looks and have a good ratings I will expect a lot more. I order a sangria that was completely bad taste, ceviche? I know there are different ways to make it but please.... Tacos? Having a Mexican menu and not having the real food, it doesnt even come close to Tex-Mex food, taco bell taste better. Plus is ridiculous over price, and completely bad service.

This is a fun neighborhood spot—the food is tasty, the drinks are creative and delicious (not to mention plentiful), and the atmosphere is vibrant. It is, however, rather noisy, so this is not the ideal restaurant for a romantic evening out. If you dont mind the loud music (and persistent repetitions of "Happy Birthday"), its a great place for families and friends to get a good meal. (The chips and salsa are among the best in the city, and the tamarind margaritas are absolutely delicious.)

I think the night I decided to go and try this place out should have been the best after hearing all the talk and how busy it usually is and the long waits ppl do to eat here. Well I think that would have been better than actually being greeted nicely from the hostess sat right away and only feet from her where she had a clear view of the table and the type of service we was provided well not sure if you can call it that, hmm
