I dont understand how El Porton doesnt have a five start average. Its one of my favorite spots in all of Manhattan and it never disappoints anyone I bring. Portions are good, service is generous and attentive, margaritas are dynamite. I typically get a carnitas chimichanga. It takes under 15 minutes to come out, and everything else has been delicious. My only meh were the nachos, but Ive tried at least 60 percent of the menu and havent found any other disappointment. Calamari is surprisingly excellent. Dressing on the side salads is perfect. I would go for the margaritas alone, delicious first, boozy second and not sugary or syrupy like most places. Ive also been treated to a free shot after a few drinks by the lovely staff. They play major tv events of their big screen when on, they play fun music at night and smooth music during the day. Delivery is pretty quick so it arrives in pretty good shape. Love El Porton.

I give them ZERO stars! I ordered a shrimp chimichanga on Good Friday and they deliver a chicken to me and then say oh well give you a $5 coupon for next time! They then hung up on me when it came time to give my information. I called back to try and get a name so that there isnt an issue next time I order and she said she didnt know and then hung up on me again. The food wasnt even that great and Im just mad because they tried to make it seem like I should be liable for their mistake. Even though I ordered on Seamless! I dont know why they cant just read what was ordered and deliver it. I wouldnt recommend this place to ANYONE. If you want good Mexican, order from La Cocinita Latina, they always get the order right and are friendly and courteous on the phone.

ive eaten there about 6 times and each time the service was great. the food is fantastic my favorite dish is the steak fajitas you can make your own. Ive also had the shrimp salad it was really good and was in a huge tortilla chip lol the drinks are great Ive tried all the margaritas they have. its a mixed crowd each time Ive visited its really interesting. the staff is grab, granted they speak little english but they know enough to serve us and understand more than your basic. cool spot def going again when Im in the area.

As my first time expirience I honestly thought I was robbed.... they quality of the food wasnt worth what I payed for .... I had order and order of chilaquiles whiched looked like nachos and the portion was way to small for what they where charging same goes with the tortas way too small for $9.... and the. The delivery guy was all drunk coming screaming to my work place ..... would order from this place again.... very disappointed

My wife and I went to this restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. This is the worst Mexican food I have ever had. I ordered a carne asada and it was awful. The service is average. The waiters can barely speak English. The place has a good ambiance though, but not that great. My wife liked the mojito she ordered. Visit this place only to have a couple of drinks. Not recommended for food.

Cant go wrong at this place. Everything is delicious and freshly made. Customer service is great and the location is convenient for work and steps away. Also theres public transportation at this location both train and bus. Lastly I have yet to order anything I dont like in this menu. The food is just awesome. A must try Especially at lunch time for the specials.

So my low score is based on the fact that I decided to try a local restaurant and was poorly disappointed that they do not accept "debit" cards or as the waitress called it gift cards. So I had to hobble (since I recently had knee surgery) to a cash checking spot to take out cash. I spoke to the manager who stated that they loss revenue due to these type of cards

Have been to this place several times now. Several options for vegetarians, even though thats nothing compared to the options for non-vegetarians. Loved the quesadilla, chimichangas and fajitas. Fresh vegetables, well prepared tortillas and tasty guacamole (my fav) alongside each dish. And lastly, its reasonably priced with good and fast service.

Every time I go Im greeted with humble warmth. I love this place. Not to quiet not to loud. Perfect food just fills me up every to.e I go. Ppl go here if you looking for great tasty Mexican food. Im Cuban and love the Mexican vibes. Waiting service is a plus plus. On point no waiting accommodation are very welcome here.

Used to visit this place once every week with my classmates from Columbia University. It was an outstanding chicken quesadilla, freshly fried nachos and freshly prepared salsa sauce along with guacamole. They serve decent margaritas and my favourite and only indulgence with alcohol, blue moon beer.....

Good, not great Mexican food in an area with very few alternatives. It has your traditional Mexican fair: tacos, burritos, etc., although nothing really stands out. Portions are quite small, and prices are a bit high, but when you have a craving for Mexican then are pretty quick on delivery.

The main dishes can be a little pricey but still a good place to get a hearty burrito or some fajitas. Overall good place to go for a good meal with a friend and have a drink. Each if the margaritas are made with a different tequila too, for some variety.

Good Mexican restaurant. Flavors are very bold and you will enjoy them. Our waitress was very attentive. Prices could be a bit more competitive. Although the food is tasty, Ive had tastier. Thats why its only 3 stars. Definitely worth trying though

Great place to get a good site down lunch for a great price. The lunch menu is under $10 and a drink is included. I ordered the vegetable quesadilla; a good portion with guacamole on the side. Definitely recommend this place for Columbia students.
