Im appalled and frankly disgusted and will not recommend this establishment again. My party and I were there to celebrate a birthday and not only was my friends meal ruined by being discriminated against but furthermore had their special night ruined by what transpired: I brought my friends specifically to try the amazing cuisine, and we ended up being highly offended by the managerial staff. My friends and I were given dirty looks by a party of 3 women who were eyeing my guests prior to sitting down, and when they were told they were going to sit near us, they were visibly upset. Shortly after being seated, they sipped their water angrily and looking over at us with disdain, and proceeded to complain to management to be moved because my small party of three were far too loud for their liking. They were white and we are Latino. Managerial staff were hyper apologetic to their new guests and were critical of us--those who had already had their meal and were preparing to pay and depart for the evening. Moreover, when these guests were told that another table was made up for them, as they began to relocate, the group approached our table to chastise us--all this was not diffused by management. We were pretty outraged but showed class, paid our bill and vehemently thanked our wonderful wait staff who by the way did not note our "volume" as an issue. It was wildly unprofessional for the managerial staff to approach us this way--in a crowded New York City restaurant--we were in perfect range of every other tables volume. Managerial staff needs to learn how to communicate and not allow bias and one racist groups preferences to dictate the experience of another group. It is their job to mitigate these instances with stellar customer service and ensuring they diffuse situations without taking sides, making everyone feel welcome.

To start with the guacamole is perfect but I recommend not ordering the Aquachile drink.....the combination of flavors listed on the menu for this drink sounds delicious and interesting but I had to water down the second half of my drink just to get it down. I also asked for no salt but it came with salt anyway. After I finally finished it I switched to a regular old margarita next which was good. The mole sauce on the enchiladas does not taste like your typical mole sauce....it is semi sweet with no kick or spice. When we informed a waitress that it wasnt what we expected she responded with major attitude. Our regular server was more accommodating and we instead ordered the enchiladas dona blanca but added chicken and they accidentally brought us enchiladas verde at first but once the correct dish came it was delicious. Their red salsa is to die for but I swear its a copy cat recipe of Chevys fresh mex. We asked for more of it halfway through our meal but it never came :- Prior to the correct enchilada arriving we ordered the 2nd round of drinks which didnt show up until WELL after we finished eating and by that point I didnt want it anymore. My water glass was empty for too long prior to them refiling it as well. After waiting forever for our 2nd drinks, we waited even longer for the check. The food was great so we will definitely give it another try...perhaps it was just an off night.

Ive been here twice for restaurant week and have enjoyed it both times, but had a much better experience the first time. The first time I went, the service was spot on, the food was excellent, and they offered both the restaurant week menu, the drink menu, and the regular menu. I love the over the top decor at this place, green and red and gold everything! The second time was odd. Coat check was MIA, and the hostess took our coats and said the waiter would bring us our coat check number and never did (amazingly the coat check lady somehow knew exactly what coats were ours so crisis averted). We were only handed the RW menu, and had to hunt down a waiter for get the drink menu. It was kinda like the restaurant said screw it, RESTAURANT WEEK FOR ALL and just began mass producing its food without much care. The wait staff seemed harried and were not attentive. The borscht was amazing as always. The chicken was overcooked and tough to chew. This was the worst part of the meal, I should have gotten the steak because I stole some off my boyfriends dish and it was perfectly prepared. And the chocolate mousse pyramid, well, chocolate mousse pyramid, need I say more?

Dining here is worth a 45 minute subway ride. I have been on a constant search for a great Mexican restaurant since I moved to NYC. Unfortunately many of the standouts remain a good subway ride away, and although they are worth the travel time it still isnt convenient. Which is why I am happy to have found Casa Enrique. I am only a couple of minutes away from it but I would make the trip even if it was much farther away! The dishes are all excellent and authentic as well as their drinks. I dont have a single complaint on anything I have tried in my last two trips so feel free to explore it. For those unfamiliar with Mexican cuisine please keep in mind that it can be spicy, so ask about the dish/drink beforehand. If you cant handle it dont order it...I on the other hand cant stop piling on the hot salsa!

When I went to the restaurant two weeks ago, the food was excellent! I loved the michelada and the sopes de chorizo. My girlfriend enjoyed the tostada de jaíba. The service was average at best. Our waitress was unprofessional and forgot to check on us. We were waiting for more napkins and refills for far too long. The runner had to step in to help us out because our server couldnt handle the brunch rush. This is definitely a place that I would come back just for the FOOD, but Im hesitant knowing the service is not going to be great. I would have given 3.5 stars, but today I placed an order through Postmates and after waiting for 35 minutes, they cancelled the order. Very disappointing. Not something i would expect from a MICHELLIN STAR restaurant.

Found it through google maps, 9 minutes from our hotel. Casa Enrique.......... Staff and service were excellent and very prompt with taking order to drinks, food, clean up and check. My wife wanted some good Mexican Food, So thanks to google and the folks who take time to rate them. Gaucomole dip was the best ive had. Hands down. They brought 3 sauces. Mild, med., and hot. Each with its own unique delicious flavor Not to mention parking right out front when we stopped by. Exxellant Food. You will not be disappointed. Casa Enrique is the name Check it. I so did not want Mexican tonight. I had visions of a typical corny Cantina here, where the atmosphere is more important than the food. I was so pleased that I gave Casa Enrique a shot, all night I keep asking please someone pinch me. Have I died and gone to Mexican Heaven. My complements to the chef outstanding Mexican food, flavorful, fresh and aesthetically presented. The service here is absolutely fantastic. This is how it should be at every restaurant. Very attentive, great drink and appetizer suggestions. This ones a keeper. :) Gracias

We were walk-in customer sit by the window side. Ordered drinks and came at reasonable time. I would recommend their cocktails. It was very good. However, we ordered three appetizers, it took over 40 plus minutes to come. By that time, I gave up the idea of order entry. Beef meatball was good. Ceviche was sub-par and one other dish was a little bite under flavor. When I asked for checks the waiter start to explain to me it was their system issue so the food couldnt come on time. Here is my question How did the restaurant earn a Michelin star?
