I frequently order food from Coral -- its my go-to delivery spot in Washington Heights. I like to support local businesses, the food is good, and the delivery is always quicker than estimated, so I happily tip. After today, I will never again order from this establishment. My food never showed up. So, I call the restaurant and speak to a man (I’m assuming he’s a manager), who stated that the food was delivered, but that he would check with the delivery guy when he returned. About 15min later, the manager calls back and says, once again, that the delivery guy said he delivered the food. When I asked to whom the food was given, because it wasn’t given to me or my roommate, the manager became very rude and unprofessional and refused to answer the question. Instead, he started yelling at me, accusing me of being a dishonest customer because I’ve called in regarding mistakes with orders in the past. Previously, Coral’s has made the occasional late delivery, brought melted milkshakes, and delivered incorrect food (I ordered a garden variety vegetarian omelet, only to find pork hidden inside--pork, which I can’t eat due to religious reasons). In all of these cases, I send back the wrong food, call, and let them know of the mistake, and they send me back the proper order. On my end, its no big deal, because I worked briefly in the restaurant business and know sometimes mistakes are made. However, I’m not sure why he became so accusatory and nasty. It was completely inappropriate and unwarranted. Very shocking, hurtful, and I have to find a new option for dinner tonight. All in all, this was an unpleasant experience, and I hope that other customers arent as poorly treated as I was.

This place makes great cakes! Probably the best out of all of the Dominican bakeries in NYC. However the costumer service is the worst! I called after 10:00AM thinking that there would be someone there to take the order. NO ONE picked up untill I made 4 phones calls back & finally got someone that then put me on hold for 2 minutes! Then they have a rule that you cannot order 1/2" lbs. on Saturday nor Sunday it has to be 1lbs. I told the person I would order the 1lbs. but in half & half. He said it was going to be $50.00 however the 1lbs. is only $38.00. So they can do 2 1/2lbs. but not just one 1/2lbs. on the weekends. What a SCAM!!! The cakes are very good but the business itself is MEDIOCRE! I would understand if they had an actual stated policy on their premises that would let cosumers know their rules.

If youre looking for a quick bite, this is the place. If youre looking for a spot to eat with the family (with kids), avoid this place. Theyve renovated it many times including and then removing a large dining area upstairs. Now its a one level, 24 seat diner. Food is ok. Nothing to write home about though. The place is small now so if there are a group of guys on the other side talking, you can hear every word (and curse). Heaven forbid there a boxing match on TV. Cant hear yourself think.

If you are looking for a good meal and friendly service, walk right past this place. They clearly focused on the breakfast menu, but the food was served cold with a server whos personality matched the food temp. Save yourself the money and the heartburn.

We ended up at this place by accident, we were looking for Golden Corral but decided to give it a try. Service was friendly and fast. The food was exceptionally good! We had a great gastronomic experience and the prices very affordable.

Coral is an institution in the neighborhood. Even though they have been forced to downsize from what they were in the past, they still keep that homely diner vibe. The food is fairly good and the staff is very pleasant.
