I had high hopes for Table 128 and I was disappointed. Heres the thing, its literally the only game in town. When your competition is a gas station-type market with a small deli in the back, I guess theres not a ton of pressure to perform. Pros: Atmosphere was cozy and casual. Fire in the fireplace, lots of local art on the walls. Very come-as-you-are friendly attitude. Local wine list was great with plenty of options at all price points. They were more than willing to accommodate our request for one pescatarian tasting and one regular tasting. No rush at all. We were invited to sit and enjoy the table as late as we wished. Cons: Service was generally slow, which may just be the small town casual nature of the place but there were several points where we were sitting without food for 20+ minutes. Another time when we sat with empty glasses for another 15 or so minutes. Some of the food was amazing, i.e. the mussels and butterscotch but the amuse-bouche of chicken liver was so so and the main course of duck was just satisfactory. The pescatarian-friendly entree was basically the duck entree with a mushroom in place of the duck. Fine but it was also generally plain. Overall, I would go back given the constantly changing menu and the overall goal that Table 128 is trying to accomplish of high-end local fare dining in a casual small town atmosphere but the price ($68 pp plus 15% gratuity included) means that Id only give it one more chance before resolving to just drive back to Mendocino for dinner.

Loved it! Fresh local ingredients expertly prepared. You can really taste every ingredient. Nothing heavy or overly salty. Nice local wine list too!
