We had a group of three seated at "a four-top" around 7:00p on a Saturday night. We unexpectedly had two friends stop by as we were half-way through our salad bar. We asked if we could get one more chair at our table so our friends could order drinks and we could all visit, mind you they have a huge reception hall with hundreds of chairs right next to the dining area…we were also adjacent to a table with two empty chairs that ordered after we did (so we would be leaving before they would). My husband asked for an extra chair from the wait-staff and they said “sure no prob”, after several minutes, nothing, so I asked the hostess if we could get an extra chair so that our friends could order drinks and we could visit. She said she didn’t want to break away ANY of the extra chairs and asked snidely “are they eating???” If they weren’t going to order anything, I wouldn’t have asked for a chair…but I said they were definitely ordering drinks and we were going to visit a bit before going to the bar area after dining. Then I asked if we could borrow one from the adjacent table with only two people seated right next to us. She said she didn’t want to leave the table as a “three-top” and then proceeded to discuss the situation with her high-school aged servers. I decided to go back to my table and our friends left the dining area to sit at the bar the rest of the evening where they proceeded to ORDER drinks and two appetizers. Some time after they left the dining hall, the hostess brought over a chair and said she was concerned about one of the near-by barn poles being in our way…which was a compete cop-out and never explained to me when I asked the first time. We told her it was too late, they went to the bar area and we’d be out of the dining hall shortly anyway. Then while paying, my husband explained what an unpleasant situation the whole ordeal was and she told him that I never said our friends would be ordering drinks and that’s why she didn’t feel the need to do anything. Which was a COMPLETE LIE. The whole situation was completely ridiculous and the hostesses “country club” attitude throughout the whole thing was a complete turn off. The new menu is completely boring: steak, fish, pasta and the sides are some of the worst I’ve had. Our high-school server had more class than the hostess (and was tipped generously because of it) but because of the hostesses attitude; we won’t be going back again. There are much better options available with friendlier staff and more varied menu options. My husband and I ate at the Chinese Buffet the next day for lunch and our service was excellent.

Service was very slow. I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak with fries and my wife got the Mahi Mahi with "fresh" (according to the waitress) green beans. Where shall I start?... It took the manager to tell the waitress, who was on her phone, to come give us menus. The Philly was drier than dry, as if it was made days before and left out to air dry. It was ice cold, as were the fries. The fish was doused with some type of red pepper jelly when the menu stated it was simply grilled. The "fresh" green beans were mushy and had more garlic in them than green beans. Those were also ice cold. When we told the waitress our issues, she just said, sorry. The only reason I gave this place two stars is because the ice water was cold, the salad bar had fresh lettuce and it was a cool building.

My family would drive 2-3 hours just to eat here. (At least 2x a year) 2 days ago, my daughter and I road tripped to Prairie Du Chien to eat here. Never again!!! My steak was burnt, my potato was cold and she brought me the wrong drink. In the middle of dinner service, the unserved table of 8 behind us got up and left. Maybe they too, could see the empty crocks and lack of bowls at the salad bar or the unrefilled cups sitting on our table. I should have went with my gut, but no. So...on the drive home the stomach cramps started... yadda, yadda, yadda.... (for both of us, we had ordered the same thing) Thats as far as Im going with that. Not cool. Ill be giving my money to Rubes or Texas Roadhouse from now on.

First, the waitress sat us at the darkest table and told us we couldnt read the menu. Next, she argued about my selection if entree and insisted that I should order the prime rib. I didnt want prime rib but to get her to stop insisting I ordered it. They have a salad bar and it was just OK. From the time we ordered till our bill was presented it was 33 minutes. Our entrees were served 1/2 through our salad course. The prime rib was so tough I ate four bites. The experience was horrible; the food bad and they have NO concept what a dining experience should be. TERRIBLE.

EXCELLENT!!! We had Easter Brunch at The Barn and it was fantastic. They were extremely busy and yet the food was constantly replenished, the staff was extremely polite and efficient and the food was superb. Definitely a "Do-Over". We have had meals at The Barn many times, Drew and his staff have always been very pleasant and efficient; chef Kerrie and his staff have always provided tasty soups, a delicious salad bar and delectable entrees. If you are looking for a great buffet for Mothers Day, call The Barn for reservations.

We threw a 50th Anniversary party for my in-laws at the end of December 2008, with cocktails, followed by lovely prime rib dinner for 45 attendees . The room was beautifully decorated for the holidays, the tables looked lovely, and the wait staff was both attentive and sought to meet our every need. Our guests commented on the delicious, plentiful food, and we were pleased with the reasonable price. We would absolutely recommend The Barn for your next celebration.
