Hand-tossed New York-style pizza. Cheesy. Late night. Truly the most unappreciated pizza site on State St., Pizza Di Roma makes pizza by the slice that can compete with the best of them. While they offer non-traditional slices such as the La Caprese and the Di Roma, I recommend sticking to the basics. If you want a fantastic slice of pepperoni pizza, Pizza Di Roma is the place for you. Ians does non-traditional slices better, but lacks the dedication to the classics. Service has its pros and cons. The in-house experience is less rushed and more relaxed than similar sites on State St. On the other hand, my pizza once took over an hour to get to my house during a delivery. The atmosphere is clean, but looks super cheap. The environment gets the job done but doesnt inspire me to stay for the dining experience. This restaurant can be a great value. I recommend getting the whole pizza as opposed to pizza by the slice. If you and your friends can agree on the toppings, this is a much better deal. Be sure to check out their website for combo deals and additional savings. Classic. This restaurant is always on my list of places to consider when I have a craving for pizza.

Usually decent food (my pizza is only sometimes hot and fries always soggy) and prompt service, but an extremely disappointing experience last night. My pizza was frozen, garlic bread soggy, fries burnt. They had run out of the pizza that I had ordered and was substituted with a different cheaper pizza and was still charged for the more expensive pizza. My delivery driver was over an hour late, and even acknowledged that I was getting served inedible food. When I called to complain about being overcharged the man answering the phones just started arguing with me instead of any kind of resolution. Really guys? Im an agoraphobic shut in that orders from you at least once a week and its never complicated and I always tip damn well, but from now on if I want food after 11 pm Im ordering Burrito Drive.

I dont recommend anyone to go to either location. I went and purchased around $14 or $15 worth of food including drinks and was charged $50 and then I went to ask what went wrong and was nice about it and the lady owner said to come back to speak with her husband and we were fine and since we were there we decided to purchase more pizza and when we were going to pay they lady said that it was on the house which was nice. But then when they "refunded" me they didnt even do it in person .. they gave me an envelope charging me full price of everything even after they said it was on the house and the first time we went when they overcharged me, that day pizza was on special due to the first days of being open. Will never go there again.

Got here before projected delivery time, but when we didnt answer the doorbell (because we didnt hear it) the delivery lady just rang all the doorbells. Our building is locked so the neighbor downstairs came and knocked on the door and told us the pizza was here. It was about 1030pm so she was so mad. Then i said something to the delivery lady about ringing other peoples door bells and she said "well you didnt answer yours". On top of it all the pizza was so cold the cheese was completely congealed and there was almost no sauce so it was cold and dry. first time ever even trying this food and it was awful. dont know how everything else tastes, but the supreme pizza sucks and so does the delivery lady.

So rude! We are visiting from out of state and staying in a hotel. I was trying to ask my husband what the address was and the little boy with zero manners on the phone got upset that I didnt know the address immediately. i read the reviews of the terrible delivery service but after being treated like crap I told him he was rude and to cancel the order. Ill take dominos over poor service any day. Ill be calling to talk to a manager tomorrow too. Maybe try hiring people with some sort of work ethic and people skills....you are in the SERVICE industry.

Worst service I have ever experienced. Who ever is the lead cashier right now at 3pm refused to serve me because I asked a simple question. He told me to leave and that he was going to call the police on me. I didnt not swear nor raise my voice or disrupt the peace. I remained calm and he still refused to serve me. Usually the owner and the main guys are great but who ever is working now is by far the worst person in the business. Im a loyal customer to pizza di Roma and Ive never been treated with so much disrespect.

The pizza is always good, and service for the most part is good. Ive only ever had a problem with someone being rude once, which doesnt reflect my overall experience with Pizza Di Roma. Im so surprised this place only has 3.7 stars. Its ridiculous... I read one comment that said to try Ians (must be someone from Madison because their pizza really aint nothing special), but Pizza Di Roma has much better pizza. This place is golden.. Speaking of which Im about to order some now!

This is "that" place from the movies. Great NY Style pizza by the slice with surprisingly good Italian food as well. If youre going for sit down Italian, dont go here. This is a place where the service is fast, informal, and fun. Prices for a slice are comprable to Ians and I think the pizza here is a LOT better. I also believe that their other Italian dishes are great for the price. Theyre about the same price as Zas and tastes a lot less pre-made.

Pizza is mediocre, business needs some updating, some of the seating is shredded, hard to enjoy food when its freezing inside. The only thing that changed since my visit last year is there were no flies buzzing around the pizzas at the counter. I thought Id give this place a 2nd try and regret doing so. Ians will continue to be my choice. I recommend people to try Ians, either location. Give Pizza Brutta a chance also, youll love it!
